Using the packages from the Full installation medium

Problem

• The packages on the Full medium are not used, you have to register the system to get the packages. It behaves like the Online medium.

Solution

Not found so far, I added more debugging logs and it turned out that the local repository is properly detected, but it is not used at the end. From the log:

I haven't found the correct place to fix the problem, but is seems to be somewhere around

agama/rust/agama-software/src/service.rs

which builds the new required software state, but it does not include the mandatory repositories from the model which correctly includes them.

Making offline installation medium locally

To add a full package repository to the installation medium download the needed repository locally into the repository subdirectory and then run this command:

# build a new ISO file with packages, keep the rest including the bootloader
xorriso -indev agama.iso -outdev agama-full.iso -map repository /install -boot_image any replay -commit

This will load the original agama.iso image, add the new repository and save the result to the new agama-full.iso file.

You do not have to download all needed packaged if you want to test something in the installer before starting the real installation. For testing you can include only the repository metadata located in the /repodata subdirectory in the repository.

You can use this script for downloading only the metadata from a remote repository.
