The test HeaderFooterTemplateWorks is failing on Android, could you verify if is related with the changes?

Hi @jsuarezruiz , The failures in the HeaderFooterTemplateWorks test on Android and the above mentioned testcases on iOS do not appear to be related to my changes. This is unrelated to my fix , Kindly rerun the CI again |

Hi @kubaflo , I reviewed the AI‑suggested approach, but it requires a full adapter refresh. This would cause the RecyclerView to rebind all visible items and re-evaluate view types, including headers and footers. That introduces unnecessary overhead and redundant calls, so I prefer to proceed with the existing code changes rather than invoking updateAdapter(). |

UpdateHeaderFooter fetches the current adapter via (recyclerView as RecyclerView)?.GetAdapter(). When the collection is empty and an EmptyView is configured, GetAdapter() returns _emptyViewAdapter (an EmptyViewAdapter), not ItemsViewAdapter.
DoesHeaderExist checks adapter.GetItemViewType(0) == ItemViewType.Header (constant 43). But EmptyViewAdapter.GetItemViewType(0) returns _headerViewType — an integer initialized to 1 and incremented on each Header/HeaderTemplate assignment — which is never 43. So DoesHeaderExist always returns false when EmptyViewAdapter is active, regardless of whether a header is actually rendered.
Concrete failure — removing a header while the empty view is displayed:
