Antigravity can receive a Google 403, change the request and succeed on retry, while GUI Logs shows only the final 200. The rejected send and recovery are hidden.
Save intermediate executor HTTP sends as ordinary Logs rows, each with a unique ID and the request's correlation ID. Keep the selected final send on the existing logical row instead of duplicating it. Grouped view preserves earlier failures, and the existing related-request view shows the attempts. A logical stream failure remains a failure even when upstream returned HTTP 200.
Observations cover Antigravity inference and HTTP executors using Base. Metadata is bounded and contains no bodies, header values or raw transport errors. Rows are written at attempt finalization. Intermediate rows stay out of logical request totals, usage, cost and provider-health statistics. Retry, streaming and noLog behavior are preserved; no schema migration or new history interface is required.
Validation:
Regression tests reproduce missing attempts through the actual executor and database paths, then verify the fix. Cases include 403 → 200, body repair, identical retries, responses from undici, keyless requests, late completion, overflow and concurrent calls.
Full suites and project-wide typecheck were not run locally; CI results are available on this PR.
Two edge cases remain: an empty discarded continuation can leave the final log row without a link to its original HTTP send (all sends are still recorded), and a group can show failure while an older parallel attempt is still active. Responses and usage accounting are unchanged.
Closes#18724. The quota-header fix#17913 is already in the base and is not repeated.
⚠️ base-red inherited: #17219 — the release branch already has known failing checks.
…nt peek
The tip's first-event peek hands back a re-wrapped Response, which dropped the upstream HTTP send association, so Antigravity logical rows lost their selected send and showed an extra attempt row. Retain the association on the peeked response. A pre-aborted client now rejects at the peek, so the 499 persistence test asserts the rejection and the same rows.

New Features
Request logs now show related upstream HTTP attempts, including status, transport errors, missing responses, and omitted-attempt counts.
Related requests are ordered by send timing, and recovered requests show their final outcome alongside earlier failures.
Bug Fixes
Error filters now classify failed HTTP attempts and pending requests more accurately.
Upstream attempt rows no longer inflate logical request counts, usage statistics, or cost totals.
The change captures provider HTTP sends, associates selected sends with logical request outcomes, and persists other sends as related attempt rows. It excludes attempt rows from logical-call accounting and updates request-log filtering, grouping, status labels, and related-row display.

Executors observe provider sends and return response selections. A bounded collector records attempt metadata and outcomes.
Streaming, non-streaming, retry, fallback, and tool-loop paths carry selected-send metadata into persistence. Observed sends other than the selected send are saved as attempt rows.
Attempt summaries are validated and stored in metadata-only rows. Logical-call predicates filter attempt rows from usage, statistics, health, and cost queries.
Classify and display related rows src/shared/components/RequestLoggerV2.tsx, src/shared/components/RequestLoggerDetail.tsx, src/shared/components/requestLoggerGroups.ts, src/i18n/messages/en.json, tests/unit/ui/*, tests/unit/request-logger-related-order.test.ts
The logger classifies attempt outcomes, groups logical rows, displays recovery and omitted-attempt metadata, and sorts related requests using send metadata.
The change records intermediate upstream HTTP sends as related log rows and keeps them out of logical request, usage, cost and health totals. No concrete defect that should block merging was established in this review. One minor, optional query simplification remains.
Security architecture risk: Low · up to d8cac
The logging change preserves the inspected access and privacy controls while separating retry observations from logical usage. No introduced security issue was established. Risk remains low rather than minimal because coverage of all affected consumers and deployment behavior is incomplete.
Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The inspected exposure is additional operational history in the existing call-log store and management interface, not a new credential or outbound-request authority. Inference traffic can produce more stored observations, but each collector retains only the first 30 sends plus the latest and selected sends, with overflow represented by counts. Cross-instance or tenant-wide exposure was not established.
Security Findings and Attack Paths
inferred — No introduced attack path was established in the inspected capture-to-storage and management-read paths. Metadata allowlists and size limits constrain the new persistence sink; management authorization and bound query parameters constrain access. This conclusion is scoped and does not establish complete security coverage.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — The call-log route invokes management authentication before persistence or provider-connection reads. This boundary is unchanged from the PR base: ordinary inference API keys do not satisfy the management-key scope. Caller-controlled correlation searches remain within the already authorized management log set.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
observed — Collector ownership checks reject foreign completions and selections, and sealing prevents subsequent mutation or repeated drain. Request-local capture holders are cleared when dispatch settles, while late completions are gated. These controls limit cross-request attribution and capture-lifetime drift during concurrency, interruption and recovery.

Explanation
Active direct target: #18724. #17913 is closed and background only, so its acceptance criteria do not apply.
Objective 1 [#18724]: Show ordered upstream attempts, statuses, and retry changes while keeping the final 200. Evidence from the change summary: executeAttempt.ts passes HttpAttemptMetadata for each Antigravity send, including the retry reason on the retry after a 403. observeProviderHttpSend records each physical send. HttpAttemptCollector.drain emits ordinal-ordered rows (request_type upstream_http_attempt) through saveUpstreamHttpAttempt. The selected final send stays on the existing logical row, and the summary records total, failed, and omitted counts. RequestLoggerV2 and requestLoggerGroups show grouped recovery status. RequestLoggerDetail orders related requests through sortRelatedLogs. stream-recovery and upstream-http-attempt-rows tests cover 403-to-200 recovery.
Objective 2 [#18724]: Record identical-request retries without double-counting client requests or token usage. logicalCallSql excludes upstream_http_attempt rows from provider stats, call-log stats, combo health, usage logs, cost ledger, and provider health matrix queries. saveCallLog with metadataOnly skips token counters, continuation state, and resilience updates. upstream-http-accounting.test.ts asserts that attempt rows do not change statistics, health, or ledger charges.
Limits of this assessment: the verdict relies on the change summary, the PR description, and the names and descriptions of new tests. Tests were not executed during this assessment. The PR reports two known gaps. First, an empty discarded continuation may leave the final row unlinked from its HTTP send; the sends remain recorded. Second, a group may show failure while an older parallel attempt is active. Neither gap is a stated requirement of #18724, so neither causes a FAIL. The summary does not show a project-value gate on the 403 retry path, so logging applies to other IDE project values that enter that path.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
Changes map to the #18724 objectives or support them. No change was found that is unrelated to the issue.
(a) Attempt capture and persistence: providerHttpAttempts.ts, providerRequestCaptureContext.ts (capture state moved from providerRequestLogging.ts), providerRequestLogging.ts, base.ts, and the Antigravity executor files. These implement per-send observation and bounded attempt metadata.
(b) chatCore and tool-loop plumbing: the selection is threaded through executeProviderRequest, providerExecutionPipeline, streaming and non-streaming responses, readiness fallback, empty-turn retry, serverOwnedToolLoop, and toolLoopTypes. This carries the selected final send to the logical row and drains the attempts. It is required for the linking objective.
(c) Accounting exclusions: logicalCallSql is applied in provider stats, call-log stats, combo health and forecast, usage logs, cost ledger, provider health matrix, proxy logs, and agentic conversation correlation lookup. This is required by the 'without double-counting' objective.
(d) Display and classification: the call-logs route error filter, RequestLoggerV2, RequestLoggerDetail, requestLoggerGroups, the shared upstreamHttp utility, and en.json messages. These show the attempts in GUI Logs.
(e) Supporting files: changelog entry, stryker.conf.json test list, and new or updated unit tests.
Review point, not a FAIL: call-logs-family-agg.test.ts now accepts idx_cl_provider_timestamp as an alternative to idx_cl_health_matrix_cover. The test still asserts that no correlated last-status subquery scans. The change follows from the new logical-call predicate.
The summary shows no change to CLI fingerprint or header code (for example Accept or x-goog-user-project handling). The #17913 work is therefore not repeated, as the PR description states.

Replace the same-ID lookup with the direct logical-call predicate in the model aggregate.
For a non-NULL id, call_logs.id is the primary key, so the correlated c2.id = c.id lookup matches only the row itself. The NOT EXISTS clause then tests the same condition as ${logicalCallSql("c")}, with an extra primary-key probe per candidate row. The model aggregate serves dashboard statistics over the lookback window, so that extra work can add latency when the window holds many calls.
Check the query plan for the supported SQLite driver after the change. The MODEL_CALL_STATS_SQL plan test should still pass. Confirm that the plan keeps the expected call_logs index for the timestamp and provider filters.
Suggested fix
-WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM call_logs c2 WHERE c2.id = c.id AND NOT ${logicalCallSql("c2")})+WHERE ${logicalCallSql("c")}
AND c.provider IS NOT NULL AND c.model IS NOT NULL
