fix(antigravity): route requests to an account whose plan lists the model - #18665
What was broken: Antigravity entitlement is per account. On a typical pool only Ultra accounts list the Claude 5.5 models, and Gemini 4 Argon is listed only by some agy accounts. Account selection ignored each account's synced model list for these providers. A claude-opus-5-5-* or gemini-4-argon-* request therefore started on, and failed over to, accounts that do not have the model.
Root cause:loadAdvertisedModelsForConnections() builds the per-connection inventory that getProviderCredentials() uses to filter candidates, but it only covered self-hosted providers and Codex. Antigravity and agy connections were never filtered, however different their plans.
This change applies the same per-connection inventory filter to antigravity and agy, judging both inventories together because they share one account pool in selection. It keeps the existing safety rules and adds one for operator pins:
Fail open: if no account advertises the requested model, the lists are treated as stale or incomplete and selection is unchanged. The pool is never emptied.
Never-synced accounts stay eligible: unknown is not "does not have it".
Malformed persisted rows for either provider fail open for the whole per-account pool.
Operator pins are honored: an account the operator pinned for this request (x-omniroute-connection, e.g. the dashboard test) bypasses the inferred filter, so an entitlement the catalog under-reports can still be verified. A pin derived by a combo expansion is still filtered, so a combo does not spend a call on an account that does not list the model.
Base is the active release/v3.8.x branch (the highest open release/v*), not main (release/v3.8.53 @ b2a64106c9)
Proof Of Fix (required)
TDD: tests/unit/antigravity-plan-aware-model-routing.test.ts (new) fails on release/v3.8.53 @ b2a64106c9 and passes with this change.
The behavioral tests use only modules that already exist upstream (getProviderCredentials, createProviderConnection, replaceSyncedAvailableModelsForConnection). On the base branch they fail on assertions, not on a missing import.
Failing output before the fix:
✖ a 5.5 request skips the accounts whose plan does not list it
AssertionError [ERR_ASSERTION]: only the Ultra account advertises the 5.5 model
✖ a model only the agy accounts list (Gemini 4 Argon) skips the antigravity-provider accounts
AssertionError [ERR_ASSERTION]: only the agy account advertises Argon
✖ an account the operator pinned is not vetoed, but a combo-derived pin still is
AssertionError [ERR_ASSERTION]: a combo expansion must not spend calls on a non-covering account
actual: '<pro account id>',
expected: null,
✖ inventoryOrFailOpen: keeps the inventory only when some account advertises the model
Error [ERR_MODULE_NOT_FOUND]: Cannot find module '…/src/sse/services/perAccountCatalogFilter.ts'
ℹ tests 7 ℹ pass 3 ℹ fail 4
The three tests that already pass on the base are regression guards that must keep passing: fail-open when no account lists the model, never-synced accounts stay eligible, and a model every account lists keeps all accounts eligible.
After the fix: ℹ tests 7 ℹ pass 7 ℹ fail 0.
Real-environment context (complementary): this change runs in the production image of a self-hosted instance with 69 antigravity/agy connections. There, 63 Pro accounts list neither Claude 5.5 nor Argon, 4 Ultra accounts list Claude 5.5, and 3 agy accounts list Argon.
Scope
Only the files the failing tests prove need changing are touched: connectionModelInventory.ts (filter), perAccountCatalogFilter.ts (new helper), auth.ts (operator-pin bypass), credentialSelectionOptions.ts (new option), chat.ts (sets the option for a non-combo forced connection)
No test was weakened or deleted to make the suite pass
Validation
Change type: provider / routing
Focused test: 7/7
Broader run over every unit test touching account selection, the inventory, credentials, combos and Antigravity (701 files): 5172/5175 pass. The 3 failures are local-only: migration tests whose prebuilt better-sqlite3 binary needs GLIBC_2.33, which the test host lacks. This PR touches no migration or DB module.
npm run typecheck:core: clean
ESLint and Prettier on the changed files: clean. Full npm run lint left to CI.

Reviewer Notes
Behavior change for combos: when a combo expansion pins an Antigravity account that does not list the requested model, selection now returns no credential for that target (the next target is tried) instead of sending the request to an account that will refuse it. Direct requests with an operator pin are not affected.
The filter only engages when at least one antigravity/agy account actually advertises the requested model, so pools with uniform plans, or with lists that lag a plan upgrade, behave exactly as before.
Other providers are unaffected: the helper scopes the change to antigravity and agy, and the existing self-hosted/Codex branches are unchanged.
…he model
Antigravity entitlement is per account: on a typical pool only Ultra accounts list the
Claude 5.5 models, and Gemini 4 Argon is listed only by some agy accounts. Account selection
ignored each account's synced inventory for these hosted providers (the per-connection filter
in loadAdvertisedModelsForConnections only covered self-hosted providers and Codex), so a 5.5
or Argon request started on, and failed over to, accounts that do not have the model.
Apply the per-connection inventory filter to antigravity and agy too, judging both inventories
together because they share one account pool. Fail open when no account advertises the model,
so stale or incomplete lists never empty the pool, and keep never-synced accounts eligible. An
account the operator pinned for this request (x-omniroute-connection, e.g. the dashboard test)
bypasses the inferred filter so an entitlement the catalog under-reports can still be verified;
combo-derived pins are still filtered.

New Features
Antigravity routing now considers which synced accounts advertise the requested model. Accounts without synced model data remain eligible, and routing fails open if no account advertises the model.
Bug Fixes
Explicitly selected connections are no longer rejected for missing synced model data. Connections selected through combo routing continue to follow model availability checks.
Antigravity and agy account selection now uses synced model inventories to filter accounts. If no account advertises the requested model, selection fails open. Explicit operator-pinned connections bypass this inventory filter; combo-derived pins do not.
Changes: Antigravity model-aware routing
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Load and apply per-account model inventories src/sse/services/perAccountCatalogFilter.ts, src/sse/services/connectionModelInventory.ts, tests/unit/antigravity-plan-aware-model-routing.test.ts, changelog.d/fixes/18665-antigravity-route-by-account-plan.md
Antigravity and agy account inventories are combined for model filtering. The filter fails open when no account advertises the requested model. Tests cover account selection, failover, missing inventories, and cross-provider inventories.
Non-combo forced connections are marked as explicit pins. For per-account catalog providers, credential selection removes the pinned connection’s inferred model inventory before filtering. Tests distinguish explicit pins from combo-derived pins.
Account routing for Antigravity and agy can still send a combo-pinned request to an account whose plan lacks the model. A stale inventory row from an inactive account can also make the request fail with no available credentials instead of falling back. Both should be fixed before merge.
Security architecture risk: Moderate · up to 18e2b
Existing access restrictions remain in the inspected request path. However, inventory from an account outside the usable pool can cause other accounts to be rejected, creating a shared availability risk when their catalogs are incomplete. No increased access to protected credentials or data was demonstrated.
Retained concerns
Medium · reliability · inferred: The new eligibility decision can be activated by inventory belonging to an account outside the request's routable pool. If that account is the sole advertiser, every current account with a nonempty but incomplete catalog can be rejected instead of receiving the intended fail-open treatment. This couples live-pool availability to persisted state outside its current ownership scope. Unknown accounts remain eligible, so the failure requires nonempty, nonmatching catalogs on the remaining candidates.
Security review details
Security Blast Radius
inferred — The demonstrated new exposure is routing availability within the affected account pool. Provider-wide catalog rows can influence several request scopes, but credential candidates still pass through configured connection restrictions; the inspected change does not establish cross-scope credential access.
Trust Boundaries and Controls
observed — A caller can supply the connection-pin header, so the new exception is not proven operator-only. Nevertheless, it removes only inferred model-inventory evidence after connection scoping. The ability to request a connection by that header predates this PR; the inspected comparison does not demonstrate a new authorization bypass.
Resilience and Maintainability Implications
inferred — The principal containment weakness is using positive catalog evidence from outside the eligible pool to veto accounts inside it. Catalog cleanup helpers mitigate retained-state exposure, while malformed-catalog and unknown-account handling preserve fallback. These safeguards do not resolve the valid-but-out-of-pool advertiser case.

Load the shared pool inventory before forced narrowing.
A combo-derived pin narrows connections to one antigravity account. The inventory loader then builds its provider list from that narrowed list, so agy inventory is never read. If the pinned account lacks the model, inventoryOrFailOpen returns an empty map, the account gets no inventory entry, and it is not filtered. The combo can then route to an account that does not list the model.
Capture the pool before forced narrowing and pass that pool to the loader. The filter still uses the narrowed list.

Exclude inactive accounts from the fail-open decision.
perAccountInventory keeps a row for every antigravity or agy connection that has a synced inventory, including connections that are no longer active. Deactivating an account does not remove its row in the inspected code. If that retained row lists the requested model, inventoryOrFailOpen returns the full inventory. Active accounts whose lists omit the model then fail the advertised-model check, so the request can return no credentials instead of failing open.
Build the match set from active shared-pool accounts only, before calling inventoryOrFailOpen. Keep never-synced active accounts eligible, as they are now.

Moves the per-provider inventory collection out of the Promise.all
callback in loadAdvertisedModelsForConnections to stay under the
cognitive-complexity ratchet, and lists the cheaper-inference#18665 test in stryker
tap.testFiles. No behavior change.
…efore pin narrowing
The fail-open decision now counts only accounts of the active, key-scoped pool, so a synced row left by a disabled or deleted account can no longer empty the pool. The pool is captured before a combo pin narrows the connections, so a pinned antigravity account still sees the agy inventory for an agy-only model.
