Tracking removal of deprecated macros

I am starting this discussion as a means to track the work around removing deprecated macros started by @mdn/owd.

Thank you @caugner for this incredibly useful tool. I will post updates this on a weekly basis.

Yes, we removed them last year. Once they are gone from mdn/translated-content, we can delete them.

We usually add the deprecated flags once we have removed them from en-US.

After mdn/translated-content#9813 is settled. All the deprecated macros (expect {{page}} macros: mdn/translated-content#3894, mdn/translated-content#3893) are removed from l10n-zh.

The script might need to be updated, as the instances for warning are actually escaped macros like \{{warning}}, which still need to be removed, but aren't actually required anymore in Yari

@nschonni As you say, those instances still need to be removed, so I would think it's okay to count them here. As for the meta page listing some deprecated macros, we will probably remove that list or page soon.

Maybe off topic, but will those sidebars also be replaced by the page types?

For now they'll be replaced by the standard sidebars for Web/API, which are DefaultAPISidebar.ejs (for API overviews and guides) and APIRRef.ejs (for interfaces and their members).

Eventually I think (hope/advocate) that page types will be the mechanism we can use to decide which pages get which sidebars, so they will replace all the explicit sidebar macro calls in content, meaning that the choice of sidebar is no longer made by authors.

I've now removed all four custom sidebar macros from en-US, asked for them all to be deprecated, and filed tracking issues for their removal from translated-content:
