LGTM based on my understanding. The code removes the patchSpec from the filters, or the filter itself if no more reamining pathspec.
HttpServer2 is forked from Hadoop, and before the fork we started to use BasicHttpServer as a wrapper to add additional functionality without modifying the Hadoop class (my fault, as far as I remember).
I have a feeling that the two classes can be combined and a lot of complexity can be removed from the result. (some functionalities are added for webhdfs which are not required here.).
But this merge is a way bigger task.

Remove filter attached to the default /conf endpoint to avoid kerberos replay error when kerberos authentication filter are attached twice to the same path /conf.

Manual testing with SPNEGO enabled /conf endpoint and verify no replay error.
Also added additional acceptance tests.
