Overview

Dynamo 1.7.0 still consumes an AISimulate 0.13.0 nightly. Build its Python wheel and Rust dependency from AISim 0.14.0 RC0 commit 74dcdfcde184070d39e813ba24424b32e9627f00, using the renamed aisim and aisim-core packages.

Summary / Key Changes

• Pin the actual aisim-core =0.14.0 package through identical full-SHA Cargo patches in all three Cargo roots. Declare aisimulate-core as its dependency alias to match the unchanged Rust library/import name and dependency-usage checks. All other locked package versions and checksums are preserved.
• Restore the release/1.6.0 source-wheel build pattern from build(deps): [release/1.6.0] update AISimulate sources to RC5 #16715, including sccache. Build aisim==0.14.0 from that same pin and explicitly install the local wheel across all seven image targets. Preserve aisimulate / aisimulate_core Python imports and repository paths.
• Align integration contracts with RC0: a 64-aligned Pareto token budget, the new host_caches telemetry field, and complete source templates in test-image build contexts. Make the output-backpressure assertion independent of unrelated scheduler passes, bound native optimizer smoke grids, fix the virtual-connector test module-name collision, and keep its subprocess deadline within the outer test deadline. Bind the process-local FPM test to loopback.

Approximately 80 added lines of build/dependency logic, excluding tests, documentation, comments, whitespace, and generated lockfiles. This uses a temporary AISim 0.14.0 RC0 source pin; the upstream commit declares Rust version 0.14.0. The separately version-stamped Artifactory 0.14.0-rc.1 crate is not used by this Git-source dependency.

Operator golden semantics

RC0 selects vLLM timing data version 0.30.0 when no backend version is specified. Update only the 17 corresponding --ais-backend-version arguments in the three DGDR contracts. Names, selectors, hash directives, and every other expected field remain unchanged. Newly profiled or re-profiled mocker deployments can receive the newer command and roll; saved DGDs with explicit prior arguments keep those arguments. This is an intentional profiling-default change, not a wildcarded expectation.

The branch also incorporates release-base PR #18079, which fixes the generated Helm README version drift from the release cut.

Validation

• Rust 1.96.1: all 312 local Mocker library tests pass without Linux/CUDA-only default features. The full-output regression now counts the slow request's decode participation rather than all scheduler passes. Cargo-machete 0.9.1 passes for the Python bindings.
• The rebuilt local Dynamo runtime passes all 31 replay telemetry tests. Dependency/namespace/container-contract checks: 28 passed. The pinned RC0 wheel's hardware-catalog check also passed during the initial change.
• All four native replay-optimizer smoke tests pass in 22–26 seconds locally with one explicit prefill-load scale, retaining both overlap credits and both routing policies. Dedicated search-grid tests retain the broader grid coverage.
• Confirmed the pytest import collision before the rename (four collected instances, including duplicated integration tests) and correct collection after it (12 instances, including all ten unit cases). All ten unit cases and the isolated etcd-backed integration case pass.
• The FPM delivery test reproduces with the host-selected network address and passes on loopback. The actual-system-listener test passes. Both retune CLI cases and planner recommendation round trips 03–06 pass against the rebuilt runtime. All four DGD CLI cases pass, including the aligned Pareto case.
• Go golden-comparison tests, scoped pre-commit hooks, and locked/offline Cargo metadata checks pass. All 14 rendered CUDA Dockerfiles contain the source build and local-wheel installation. Full Linux container/GPU PR CI and Pre Merge passed on e686db9911d04bf263a4c1ae9a4ccd8978e08db6. All four aggregate gates are green; the PR has 100 successful checks, 29 intentional skips, and no failures.

The attempted main counterpart #18114 was withdrawn: the package, dependency-pin and build migration is outside the API/DGD work in #17583. Main dependency integration needs separate ownership; #18114 retains the prepared branch and validation evidence. No other open AISim bump PR targeting this release was found. Precedents: #16715 for the source pin/build and #16949 for the later GA handoff. Cherry-pick approval and merge remain with the release team.
