Motivation

keyGenV45 and keyGenV5 index salt[0] before calling BLST, which traps when an empty salt is provided. The pinned BLST version also cannot safely process a zero-length salt in blst_keygen_v5.

Description

  • Reject empty salts with BlstError.BadEncoding before entering BLST.
  • Pass validated non-empty salts using the slice pointer.
  • Add regression coverage for both key generation versions.
  • Validate with the BLS test suite in Debug and ReleaseSafe, tracked Zig formatting checks, and pnpm lint.
