What changed

  • Attach the selected Wework model kind to executor reconnect events.
  • Show an explicit ChatGPT network-unavailable message for local official models.
  • Add a localized proxy-settings action that opens Settings → Proxy.
  • Keep the existing reconnecting status for provider and custom models.
  • Document the recovery path in Chinese and English troubleshooting guides.

Root cause

The reconnect event only carried the upstream retry message, so the Wework UI could not distinguish an official ChatGPT model network failure from other transient reconnects. It therefore rendered the same generic reconnecting status for every model.

Validation

  • pnpm --filter wework test src/components/chat/blocks/ToolBlocksDisplay.test.tsx (57 passed)
  • cargo test --manifest-path executor/Cargo.toml --lib emits_one_transient_block_while_codex_reconnects
  • Prettier, ESLint, TypeScript, Wework unit tests, cargo fmt, cargo test --all-features --lib, and cargo clippy passed in pre-push
  • Real Tauri resilience verification built and launched successfully, but an existing project-folder precondition blocked the checkpoint before the reconnect scenario: the test attempted to add a root already owned by another project, leaving confirm-device-folder-picker-button disabled. No E2E logic was changed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • Added clearer status messaging when official ChatGPT models cannot reach the network.
    • Added a shortcut to open proxy settings directly from the reconnecting message.
    • Improved reconnecting status details for different model types.
  • Bug Fixes

    • Improved agent approval handling to respond reliably when approvals are completed.
    • Added localized English and Chinese messaging for network-related model issues.
  • Documentation

    • Added troubleshooting guidance for configuring a proxy and restarting Codex.

Review Change Stack

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The change adds model metadata to reconnecting runtime blocks, ChatGPT-specific network and proxy-settings UI, troubleshooting guidance, and bounded synchronization for pending agent approvals.

Changes

ChatGPT reconnect handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Propagate reconnect model metadata
executor/src/runtime_work/events.rs
Reconnecting blocks resolve the model kind from snake_case or camelCase configuration and include it in tool_input.model_kind. Tests verify the emitted value.
Render network and proxy guidance
wework/src/components/chat/blocks/ToolBlockItem.tsx, wework/src/components/chat/blocks/ToolBlocksDisplay.test.tsx, wework/src/i18n/locales/*/chat.json, docs/*/wework/troubleshooting.md
ChatGPT reconnecting blocks show localized network-unavailable guidance and open /settings/personal/proxy. Tests and troubleshooting documentation cover the new flow.

Agent approval synchronization

Layer / File(s) Summary
Coordinate approval resolution
wework/src-tauri/src/embedded_browser.rs, wework/src-tauri/src/embedded_browser/agent_control.rs, wework/src-tauri/src/embedded_browser/tests.rs
Approval consumption waits up to 250 ms for pending state changes. Clearing, accepting, and rejecting approvals notify waiting consumers. A threaded test verifies wake-up after approval.

Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes

Mergeability Score: 🔵 Low · up to 920d9

The reconnect behavior now gives local official ChatGPT users a proxy-settings recovery path, while other models retain the existing reconnecting status. The proxy action may have a smaller-than-required mobile tap target, creating a bounded accessibility issue that should be addressed or explicitly accepted by the owner; otherwise the change is mergeable.

Cover both model-config spellings.

The helper explicitly accepts wework_model_kind and weworkModelKind, but this test covers only the snake_case field. Add a second case for weworkModelKind and assert the emitted model_kind value.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Increase the proxy button hit area to 44px × 44px.

The new button has no minimum size or equivalent padding. On mobile, its hit area can be smaller than the required 44px × 44px. Add a 44px hit area while keeping the text layout.

+ className="inline-flex min-h-11 min-w-11 items-center justify-center px-2 font-medium text-blue-600 hover:underline dark:text-blue-300"

As per coding guidelines, “Mobile controls must be at least 44px × 44px.”
