📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe change updates runtime reconnecting-block lifecycle handling. Blocks settle when meaningful work resumes or turns terminate, while empty assistant progress preserves active state. Tests cover these transitions, and desktop recovery waits for reconnection after a window reload. ChangesRuntime reconnect recovery
Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~20 minutes Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to The PR clears stale reconnecting status after recovery, but one supported event-ordering case can still leave the indicator visible when reconnecting and normal progress arrive together. This bounded correctness issue needs follow-up before merge. Possibly related PRs

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Settle reconnecting blocks after merging chunk blocks.
If one assistant_chunk contains both runtime_reconnecting and normal work blocks, hasAssistantChunkProgress(action) is true. Lines 77-79 settle only existing items. Line 81 then inserts the reconnecting block from action.blocks with status: 'streaming'.
Merge reasoning and blocks first. Then settle reconnecting blocks when the chunk has progress. Add a regression that includes both block types in one assistant_chunk.

items = upsertBlocks(items, action.blocks)

What changed
runtime_reconnectingblock when the same turn emits later progress or reaches a terminal stateRoot cause
The reconnecting indicator was represented as a transient processing block that normally depended on a dedicated
status: doneupdate. During a WebView refresh, transcript hydration and live stream events can interleave, so that completion update could be missed while later task events continued normally. The stale block then remained visible indefinitely even though execution had recovered.Impact
After refreshing Wework during an active task, the UI now clears the stale “Connection interrupted. Reconnecting…” status as soon as the turn demonstrably resumes or finishes.
