AirPlay
AirPlay lets send audio stream from audio players (e.g. iTunes, Spotify etc) running on Apple devices (e.g. iPhone) to the Peppy Player. The support for AirPlay in the Peppy Player is based on the shairport-sync software. It's also possible to use AirPlay on another non-Apple platforms by installing a corresponding plugin. For example TuneBlade plugin allows to use AirPlay on Windows machines.
To activate AirPlay player the property airplay (False by default) should be set to True in the configuration file config.txt. After that the AirPlay option will appear in the Home Menu. Clicking on it starts the shairport-sync server and opens the AirPlay screen.
After these steps the playback can be started on the stream source device. The following image shows how that can be done using Spotify player on iPhone. This works for free and premium Spotify accounts. In case of the free account all limitations specific for the free Spotify account will be applicable.
The playback (volume/next/previous) in this case can be controlled either on the source device (e.g. iPhone) or from Peppy player. The playlists can be selected only on the source player.
