Credit goes to @jfecher for finding this. I'm merely sending a PR with the patch he suggested, then adding a bunch of tests.
Additional Context
I thought about reusing the logic that's in
verify_trait_constraintso that it can be used in the frontend and during monomorphization. However, doing that doesn't work: it panics with the "Overwriting an existing type binding with a different type!". But maybe that makes sense: on the frontend side the bindings aren't bound. During monomorphization they are and they have different constant values.Documentation
