Summary*
Added an integration tests and unit test to capture what I encountered in #8665 (comment)
Additional Context
The integration test has been minimised from the
easy_private_votingcontract.The issue was that we modified the call signature of the function, but did not correctly modify the call site to use
&mut Fieldinstead ofField, which isn't visible in the SSA, but when later it was looking for an apply function to replace thecall v1(with, it did not find anything because the signature of the call indicated it takes aFieldparameter, not&mut Field. Since we cannot panic on not finding an apply function any more, we moved on and crashed in Brillig generation.Documentation*
