fix(cloud): Coderouter sidebar follows the cmux app's sign-in - #22738
austinywang wants to merge 82 commits into
Conversation
The Cloud sidebar listed and added Coderouter accounts with the CLI's own saved sign-in, so a different `cr login` user made every read fail and Add Account stuck on "still loading". Reads, removals and Add Account now run the CLI as the app's signed-in account in a private CODEROUTER_DATA_DIR, re-scoped per account and team; a terminal's `cr` keeps its own login. Release and nightly bundles now ship the pinned coderouter 0.3.16 CLI (universal), and a failed read keeps its reason and shows a localized, actionable retry row instead of the loading banner. Updated #22738 through
Native verification is pending remotely: PR CI and eight focused Coderouter suites. The CLA guard's first attempt failed with a generic policy-validation error after its regression matrices passed; I reran it and am inspecting the cause. Current-head GUI Add Account remains unverified. No local app builds or app-host tests were run. |
|
Current head
The source fixes, independent review, syntax/wiring checks, localization audit, and real universal installer/signature smoke check are complete. Remote jobs are left running/queued; no force push, merge, or local app build was used. The remaining blocker is obtaining passing hosted/native verification. |

![Fix with [code]smith](https://pr-comments-assets.blacksmith.sh/codesmith/fix-with-codesmith-light-3x.png)
The Cloud sidebar now manages CodeRouter accounts using the account signed into cmux and the selected team. A separate terminal
cr loginno longer causes account reads to fail with a misleading loading message.Root cause and fix
The sidebar previously ran the CLI with the terminal user's saved config. Reads, removals, and account setup now use a private per-operation config containing the app session and explicit team, with inherited CodeRouter overrides removed. Read errors retain a typed reason and expose a localized retry action; removal and setup errors use operation-specific copy. Release and nightly bundles ship the checksum-pinned universal CodeRouter 0.3.16 binary.
Setup has one owner: the store cancels pending work on scope changes and sidebar disappearance. Cleanup scans run off MainActor before credentials and destination validation. The shared pane factory validates and creates a setup terminal directly in its destination in one MainActor turn, preventing an already-started shell from losing its private config after a separate pane-projection failure.

git diff --check, installer shell syntax,localize-changes, and all 11 localization catalogs with nine required macOS locales.--version. The real helper also passed the repository thinning script for each architecture, retained executable permissions, and passed strict ad-hoc signature verification afterward.6540c8276a6. That run was red for three separate shortcut-routing tests. It is not current-head coverage.1738742886b:./scripts/run-e2e.sh 'cmuxTests/CoderouterSetupTerminalTests/missingDestinationDoesNotLaunchElsewhere()' --ref 1738742886b53ea96ee6f35bc9b9055688b663e5 --no-videocompiled and executed exactly one test. The expected assertion failed: rejecting a missing destination left two panes instead of the original one. No crash or setup failure occurred. The same selector on current head must pass; green evidence is pending. The fixed suite also covers no-space rejection and command/focus/name preservation on success. The final file-budget audit moved the sidebar operation bindings and existing test suites into focused files. Test bodies and selectors are unchanged; only the sidebar methods called across files changed visibility.
Credential and compatibility details
The CLI needs the app's access/refresh pair for account-management commands. The config uses mode 0600 inside 0700 directories; commands remove it on completion, and the interactive shell owns cleanup after a successful launch. Live add sessions are excluded from stale cleanup by their owner PID. Setup terminals keep the captured account/team once launched; later app selection changes govern subsequent operations. No credentials are logged.
The two-minute process deadline cancels and terminates a hung command. It is not a retry or delay intended to conceal a failure, and was not increased. The removed elapsed-time assertion was replaced by the existing explicit timeout-error/cleanup oracle, as requested in review. Production code preserves the repository's Swift 6.0 compatibility pathway.
