Fix relative file Cmd-clicks in managed SSH terminals - #27251
Fixes#26328. Cmd-clicking a relative file path in a managed SSH terminal now uses the foreground process’s live directory, including after cd without OSC 7. The lookup uses the projected terminal’s already connected SSH link with a five-second deadline and falls back to the reported directory when unavailable.
Candidates keep their original order. An earlier successful absolute path opens without waiting for a later relative candidate’s directory lookup. When every remote candidate fails, the existing localized remote-file error dialog replaces the beep. Successes and failures share the same request, lifecycle, connection, projection and focus checks.
kitty-shell-cwd support is already present on main. No shell configuration or protocol change is needed.
Testing
The regression command is ./scripts/run-e2e.sh cmuxTests/RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoaderTests --ref <sha>. On test-only commit a37491d90f3d23c723baa1f32a18e1af33498147, 12 tests ran with the two expected failures: an absolute success still queried the directory, and missing candidates returned the file-explorer availability error. The repaired suite passed in head 498c9456 CI; current-head verification is running.
The broader app-host lane also exposed inherited failures. The two shortcut tests now use the existing test-only focus helper, which establishes first responder without requiring a key window in the app-host process. Cloud-header assertions now expect the current localized help text introduced on main. Their routing, selection and tooltip assertions remain intact.
Observed / Not run
All 16 scoped static checks, changed-Swift syntax parsing, git diff --check, and Python syntax parsing passed.
Localization audit: existing alert/help keys reused; 11 catalogs and all nine macOS locales passed strict parity validation.
Independent source review passed the live-cwd implementation and the lazy-lookup/error-dialog repair. Current-head review and remote CI are running.
Tagged fleet build passed for 09e78f71d4c44b726cc6fc9c3a7f2bdd02ee8653: job 71143fd7048a7f2d453cf542, tag issue-26328-ssh-relative-final, artifact sha256:8e4185afdb7f5d72fda2ee8444e57405af3c10bb8cb5926c8c0ceac461fce687. This is app compilation/packaging, not test or runtime interaction evidence.
Live managed-SSH Cmd-click E2E has not run. Its workload now changes directory without injecting OSC 7. Modal presentation and stale-completion UI behavior have source review but no focused runtime UI test.
Changelog
Fixed: Relative file Cmd-clicks in managed SSH terminals follow the shell’s current directory, and unavailable remote files show an error.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Improvements
Remote terminal file previews now resolve relative paths using the terminal’s live working directory when available, falling back to its reported directory. Absolute and home-relative paths are also supported.
Preview errors now display an alert when a remote file cannot be retrieved, with guidance to check the path or reconnect and retry.
Machine-limit help now clarifies that both running and paused machines count toward the plan limit.
…he live remote cwd
A managed SSH terminal's published cwd is the cmux-tui spawn directory until
the shell sends an accepted OSC 7, and managed login shells usually never
send one. Relative Cmd-click tokens were joined onto that stale directory, so
the download failed and the click only beeped.
For a relative token in a cmux-tui-owned terminal, ask the daemon for the
foreground process's live cwd (process show -> foreground_cwd) and resolve
against it, falling back to the reported directory. Absolute, home and
file-URL tokens skip the round trip.

Review: currentWorkingDirectory(of:) dials the SSH carrier and is not
cancellable, so a Cmd-click on a sleeping link could hold the preview task
for the carrier's 180 s startup budget past the 30 s preview deadline. Add
connectedWorkingDirectory(of:), which answers only over an already-connected
link within 5 s, and require the projected machine to be this workspace's
SSH-TUI machine.

Walkthrough
Managed SSH previews can query a connected terminal’s foreground directory to resolve relative paths. The loader checks candidates in order and reports an error when no remote candidate downloads.
The resolver classifies path spellings and reports whether tokens need a working directory. Tests cover relative paths and other listed token types.
Look up connected terminal directory Sources/Surfaces/SurfaceProvider.swift, Sources/Surfaces/CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider+TerminalIO.swift, Sources/Workspace+TerminalLinkOpening.swift, cmuxTests/CloudTerminalPlacementTestProvider.swift
The provider protocol adds an optional connected-directory lookup. The TUI provider queries foreground process information with a five-second timeout. Workspace wiring supplies the lookup for a matching managed SSH terminal.
The coordinator passes the live-directory lookup to the loader and checks that the source remains current before presenting results or errors. The loader uses a valid absolute live directory when needed and reports a localized remote preview error if no candidate downloads. Tests cover lookup conditions and fallback behavior. The SSH preview workload no longer reports OSC 7.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title "Fix relative file Cmd-clicks in managed SSH terminals" matches the main change: relative file-path Cmd-clicks in managed SSH terminals now resolve against the live foreground directory. It is specific, concise, and free of noise.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the repository template: it has a Summary that states the problem and resulting behavior, a Testing section that separates tests run from evidence limits and includes an Observed / Not run subsection, a Changelog entry in the required Fixed: form, and a Proof line. The Proof section is effectively a one-line note that live managed-SSH E2E has not run, which is acceptable for a CI-verified change. The checklist was removed, which the template allows for inapplicable lines. Some Testing claims cite commit SHAs and CI runs, which supports traceability.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue [#26328] requires relative remote paths to use the live shell directory and to report when no remote candidate exists. The loader now performs one lazy live-directory lookup, preserves candidate order, falls back to the reported directory, and throws FileExplorerError.remoteFileUnavailable when all candidates fail. The coordinator presents the localized error and checks request, lifecycle, connection, projection, and focus state. Added tests cover live lookup, fallback, lookup skipping, candidate order, and missing files.
Full details: Cmux Cloud Persistent Session And Early Input
Explanation
PASS. The diff does not create Cloud terminals, manual Ghostty runtimes, or per-event transports. It adds only a live-cwd query. connectedWorkingDirectory requires a terminal, an existing provider link, isConnected, and an existing socket, then calls CloudMachineLink.run with a five-second deadline. CloudMachineLink.run uses the existing persistent control connection and does not spawn a child, re-authenticate, or replay a timed-out request. No changed code alters input ownership, geometry, attachment, leases, auth, revisions, or snapshot handling.
Full details: Cmux Swift Actor Isolation
Explanation
No new actor-isolation defect is introduced. The changed production paths are explicitly isolated or actor-safe: RemoteTerminalFilePreviewCoordinator, FileExplorerPreviewCoordinator, FileExplorerStore, Workspace, and CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider use @MainActor; RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoader is an actor; and its live-directory callback is explicitly @MainActor @Sendable. SurfaceProvider already had @MainActor isolation, and the added requirement is implemented by the existing @MainActor provider. RemoteTerminalPathResolver remains a pure Sendable value type. The remaining changes are enum/localization updates or tests.
Full details: Cmux Swift Blocking Runtime
Explanation
PASS. The production Swift diff adds no semaphore, blocking wait, sleep, delayed dispatch, polling loop, main-queue sync, or manual lock. The new five-second value is passed to the existing async CloudMachineLink.run(..., timeout:) request deadline in CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider+TerminalIO.swift; it does not add a blocking primitive. The existing clock.sleep transfer deadline in RemoteTerminalFilePreviewCoordinator is unchanged. Test-only changes do not trigger this check.
Full details: Cmux Browser Automation Off-Main
Explanation
PASS: The pull request does not change browser socket automation. The authoritative diff changes 15 terminal-path, preview, SSH working-directory, localization, and test files. Sources/TerminalController.swift and Packages/macOS/CmuxControlSocket/Sources/CmuxControlSocket/Wire/ControlCommandExecutionPolicy.swift are unchanged. No added lines contain browser.*, worker-router policy symbols, WebKit waits, or page-hook callbacks. The check is therefore inapplicable, and no off-main browser automation violation is introduced.
Full details: Cmux Expensive Synchronous Load
Explanation
PASS. The configured rule targets synchronous whole-corpus agent-history loads and large agent-owned files on interactive or main-actor paths. The changed production code adds no such loader or file read. The only new JSON parse is the async remote terminal process-info response in foregroundWorkingDirectory; remote preview work runs in RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoader actor code. Existing FileExplorerStore directory/reload code and existing agent-related protocol text are not changed by this PR.
Full details: Cmux Cache Substitution Correctness
Explanation
PASS: The pull request does not replace a fresh authoritative read with a cache in a persistence, history, undo, or snapshot path. It adds a live foreground-directory query in CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider+TerminalIO.swift and uses the reported directory only as an explicit fallback in RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoader.swift. The loader cache stores downloaded preview files and is not an authoritative-state substitution. No changed TypeScript or JavaScript files exist.
Full details: Cmux No Hacky Sleeps
Explanation
The pull request introduces no covered hacky sleep. The only non-Swift change is test scaffolding in tests_v2/test_ssh_tui_file_preview.py; it removes OSC 7 output and adds documentation. The diff adds no fixed sleep, timer, polling loop, delayed dispatch, or wall-clock wait in TypeScript, JavaScript, shell, or build/runtime scripts. Swift timeout code is out of scope for this check.
Full details: Cmux Algorithmic Complexity
Explanation
PASS. The changed production scans operate on bounded Cmd-click token candidates, not user-scale collections. pathTokenCandidates returns at most the raw segment and shell-escaped token, and pathResolutionCandidates adds only a fixed number of spellings. The new resolver checks and deduplicates only these small collections. RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoader processes the same click tokens and uses a Set for downloaded-path deduplication. No nested scan over workspaces, panes, sessions, files, processes, or other scalable records was introduced.
Full details: Cmux Swift Concurrency
Explanation
PASS. The changed app code uses structured async APIs and actor isolation. The preview Task remains stored in tasks, cancelled on replacement and deinit, and guarded by a request ID. The new live-directory lookup is an async closure and the loader uses async throws plus a withThrowingTaskGroup. No new Dispatch queues, callback-based async APIs, or Combine state were added. Existing ObservableObject and @Published code was only nearby context.
Full details: Cmux Swiftpm Lockfiles
Explanation
PASS. The PR diff contains no Package.swift, .gitignore, Package.resolved, or cmux.xcodeproj/project.pbxproj changes. The changed package root, Packages/macOS/CmuxTerminalCore, has source and test edits only; no external dependency pin or package-reference change requires a lockfile diff. The root Xcode package-reference files are also unchanged.
Full details: Cmux Swift Logging
Explanation
The pull-request diff adds no production Swift print, debugPrint, dump, NSLog, ad hoc diagnostic output, or Logger declaration. The only changed cmuxDebugLog statements remain guarded by #if DEBUG, which the rule allows. No logging of secrets or personal data was introduced.
Full details: Cmux User-Facing Error Privacy
Explanation
PASS: The changed production path is Cmd-click in a managed SSH terminal: RemoteTerminalFilePreviewCoordinator.open calls the loader, then presents an NSAlert on failure. The new alert text says only that the remote file could not be opened and advises checking the path or reconnecting. The loader converts exhausted download candidates to FileExplorerError.remoteFileUnavailable; the shared presenter uses a generic fallback for other error types, so it does not expose raw upstream errors. Other changed user-facing text is generic plan/machine help. No vendor names, provider details, secrets, identifiers, or payloads are added to user-facing text.
Full details: Cmux Swiftui State Layout
Explanation
No prohibited SwiftUI state or layout pattern is introduced. The changed production code is resolver, loader, coordinator, protocol, and error handling code. Sources/FileExplorerStore.swift only adds FileExplorerError.remoteFileUnavailable and its localized description; its existing ObservableObject and @Published state is unchanged. The SwiftUI-importing test changes update localized help text and AppKit focus setup. The diff adds no @Observable, new observable state, GeometryReader, lazy/list row store references, or render-time state mutation.
Full details: Cmux Architecture Rethink
Explanation
PASS. The Swift diff does not introduce a prohibited architecture pattern. The live-directory lookup has a clear path: Workspace.remoteTerminalLiveWorkingDirectoryLookup delegates to SurfaceProvider.connectedWorkingDirectory, and CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider owns the connected-link query. The five-second value is an explicit I/O deadline, not a sleep or polling fix for a race; the existing transfer deadline is unchanged. queriedLiveDirectory is local per-load control state, not a second state owner. Preview lifecycle checks are centralized in the existing coordinator through isCurrent, and the shared error presenter avoids duplicate UI behavior. No new locks, observers, delayed dispatch, polling, or split UI lifecycle owners were added.
Full details: Cmux Swift Auxiliary Window Close Shortcuts
Explanation
The PR does not add or materially change a standalone cmux-owned window. It only exposes the existing FileExplorerPreviewCoordinator.present alert for reuse and updates test-only main-window focus setup. No new NSWindow, NSPanel, controller, SwiftUI window, identifier assignment, or close-routing workaround appears in the diff. scripts/lint_auxiliary_window_close_shortcuts.py also passes.
Full details: Cmux Source Artifacts
Explanation
All 15 changed paths are intentional Swift source, tests, a Python test, or the localization catalog. No changed path is a log, screenshot, recording, cache, build output, dependency checkout, temp folder, or broad artifact directory. The test code uses temporary directories only at runtime; it does not add generated artifacts to source control.
Full details: Cmux No Test Or Debug Seam In Production Source
Explanation
No production test or debug seam was introduced. The diff adds no new test-build guards and no members named debug…, …ForTesting, …ForTests, testOnly…, …TestHook, or …TestSeam. needsWorkingDirectory is called by production RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoader; connectedWorkingDirectory is called by production workspace and preview code. FileExplorerPreviewCoordinator.present widens from private to internal for the new production error path, not for tests. Existing #if DEBUG logging and the existing setProviderForTesting seam were not changed.
Full details: Cmux Swift `@Concurrent`
Explanation
The new foregroundWorkingDirectory helper remains implicitly @MainActor because CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider is @MainActor (Sources/Surfaces/CmuxTuiSurfaceProviders.swift:13-14). It performs CloudMachineLink.run network work and JSONSerialization parsing (Sources/Surfaces/CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider+TerminalIO.swift:50-64). The new connectedWorkingDirectory Cmd-click path calls it from the actor-isolated provider, and the Workspace lookup exposes that path to remote preview loading. The diff therefore performs the new live-directory lookup and parsing through UI isolation without an explicit concurrent boundary.
Resolution
Keep link and provider-state checks on @MainActor. Move foregroundWorkingDirectory to a private nonisolated helper, with @concurrent under #if compiler(>=6.2) and @Sendable otherwise. Pass only the required CloudMachineLink, terminal identifier or request data, socket path, and timeout. Call the helper from currentWorkingDirectory and connectedWorkingDirectory after their actor-isolated checks.
Full details: Cmux Swift Package Boundaries
Explanation
The standing boundary violation remains. The diff materially expands independently testable remote-preview workflow logic in app-target Sources/RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoader.swift: lazy working-directory lookup, candidate fallback and deduplication, remote download attempts, atomic cache publication, cancellation, and error mapping. The loader depends on app-target SSHFileExplorerProvider and FileExplorerError, and its behavioral tests remain in cmuxTests. The diff adds no SwiftPM package or package test target. SurfaceProvider and CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider+TerminalIO.swift also add a reusable working-directory provider contract and process-info adapter in the app target. The packaged RemoteTerminalPathResolver does not isolate this workflow.
Resolution
Create a small Packages/macOS/CmuxRemoteTerminalCore library and test target. Move the transport-independent preview workflow and live-directory decision into the package. Expose a RemoteFilePreviewProvider for home resolution/downloads and a RemoteTerminalWorkingDirectoryQuery protocol or value API. Keep RemoteTerminalFilePreviewCoordinator, Workspace.remoteTerminalLiveWorkingDirectoryLookup, SurfaceProvider, and concrete CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider adapters in the app target. Map package errors to FileExplorerError at that boundary. Add package tests with fake preview and working-directory providers.
Full details: Cmux Full Internationalization
Explanation
The new production error text is correctly routed through String(localized:defaultValue:) in Sources/FileExplorerStore.swift:1131, but its new Resources/Localizable.xcstrings entry only contains nine locales. The catalog already contains bs, da, it, km, nb, pl, pt-BR, ru, th, tr, and uk, and the Xcode project also lists most of these in knownRegions. The new key has no translated entries for those locales.
Resolution
Add translated, non-placeholder stringUnit values for bs, da, it, km, nb, pl, pt-BR, ru, th, tr, and uk under fileExplorer.preview.remoteFileUnavailable in Resources/Localizable.xcstrings. Preserve the existing nine translations and validate catalog parity.

Stop the live directory query when an absolute candidate comes first.
When a token list has an absolute and a relative spelling, needsWorkingDirectory returns true. The loader then awaits the live directory query before downloading the absolute path. On a connected link, that query can take up to 5 seconds. Query the live directory lazily, when a relative candidate is reached.

Addressed the follow-up review findings in c4ee7ff:
Directory lookup is lazy: an earlier absolute candidate can open before any later relative candidate triggers a process query. The inline thread is replied to and resolved.
Exhausting remote candidates now presents the shared localized remote-file error dialog. Both error and success paths use the complete request/lifecycle/connection/projection/focus fence.
Added contract comments for the loader, coordinator entry point, foreground-directory query and shared failure presenter. Existing translated strings are reused; the localization audit passed all nine macOS locales.
The test-only regression run executed 12 tests and failed on exactly the eager-query and unhelpful-error assertions. The repaired loader suite passed in CI on 498c9456, whose separate shortcut and Cloud-header failures have since received test-fixture repairs. Current-head CI remains in progress.
Add a check for the user-facing failure text, not just the error case.
missingRemoteCandidatesProduceAnActionablePreviewError asserts only that the error is .remoteFileUnavailable, plus the request paths. The alert text comes from FileExplorerError.errorDescription, which the preview coordinator passes to the alert. The test never reads that text. If .remoteFileUnavailable were mapped to a different message, the test would still pass.
To cover this, assert the localizedDescription for this case against the approved copy under a fixed locale. The test then fails when the mapping changes to a different message.
Comparing localizedDescription with String(localized: "fileExplorer.preview.genericFailure") does not detect edits to the catalog value. Both sides read the same entry, so an edit changes both. That comparison only detects a different key or a hard-coded replacement. If the approved copy should not be fixed in tests, narrow the test name and its claim to the error-to-case mapping.

A live foreground directory replaces the terminal's reported directory, so a
path printed relative to the shell's OSC 7 directory no longer opens when the
foreground process runs elsewhere.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Relative tokens resolve against the live foreground directory first, then the
terminal's reported directory, so paths printed relative to the shell keep
opening when the foreground process has its own working directory.

Correctness review on the exact head (review subagent, Claude). Owner: austinywang.
Round 1 on d887137fe4904142b5007dc35fe20ec58582ec2d (current main merged in through update-branch, no conflicts). Verdict: FIX.
Modal on a missed Cmd-click (blocking per reviewer). In a managed SSH terminal, Cmd-clicking a word that is not a remote file now ends in the shared "Unable to open remote file / … Reconnect and try again." alert instead of a beep. Resolution: kept as the owner's decision.c4ee7ff deliberately made the exhausted-candidates path present this alert and pinned it with missingRemoteCandidatesProduceAnActionablePreviewError. The reviewer conditioned the block on the owner not having accepted it.
Part of the finding does not apply: remoteFileTooLarge is only thrown on the Cloud path (CloudFileExplorerService), never by the SSH download, so the loader does not swallow it here.
Follow-up for Austin, not done in this PR: beep when every candidate was simply not found (test -f exits 1 with empty stderr), and show the alert only for transport errors.
The reported directory was dropped once a live directory was known (non-blocking). A path printed relative to the shell's OSC 7 directory stopped opening when the foreground process had a different cwd. Fixed:
aced6b6 adds the regression test relativeTokenFallsBackToTheReportedDirectoryWhenTheLiveDirectoryMisses.
545f8c7 makes the loader try live-directory candidates first, then reported-directory candidates, deduped. The lazy, at-most-once live query is unchanged.
missingRemoteCandidatesProduceAnActionablePreviewError now also expects /reported/notes.md.
The 5 s live lookup can disconnect the link (non-blocking). Accepted:CloudMachineLink.run disconnects only when the request times out and a 2 s session.ping also fails, so the channel really is unresponsive.
Round 2 on 545f8c73ff66564709ae3bca0235412c2d300315 (the two fix commits): PASS, no findings. The reviewer walked every existing loader test under the new code and confirmed the new test fails on the old loader, which only requested /live/notes.md.

Observed:
scripts/verify-local.py --affected on this Mac: every check that finished passed; feature-flags hit its 60 s local cap (this change touches no flags).
Pre-push gate: no new violations.
Not run:
The new test's red on aced6b6 was established by reading the code, not executed.
The green comes from this head's app-host unit tests (changed suites) job.
No tagged build or live managed-SSH dogfood in this round.
Visual: the only visible change is that an existing shared NSAlert (existing localized strings) now appears where there was a beep. No faithful capture route exists for a managed SSH Cmd-click: the PR's github-reference-click-tour left no frames (https://github.com/manaflow-ai/cmux/actions/runs/40852041602). The coordinator decides whether a capture is needed.
CI reds:
swift-package-tests on 09e78f7 failed in CmuxTerminal teardownSurfaceKeepsTeeLeaseUntilNativeFree: two nativeFree events were recorded because the global runtimeSurfaceFreeOverrideForTesting hook also sees another surface's free. This PR doesn't touch that package or test, and the test hasn't changed on main since Oct 12.
CI on 545f8c73ff66564709ae3bca0235412c2d300315 (run 40982785528):
Attempt 1:swift-package-tests and macOS compile admission never started. Runner cmux-austin-mini-0-glaeda refused them ("a fleet build is waiting for the host"), which is a machine failure per the attribution above. I re-ran the failed jobs.
Attempt 2:
swift-package-tests and compile admission passed.
app-host unit tests (changed suites) ran 639+ tests; RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoaderTests passed, including the new relativeTokenFallsBackToTheReportedDirectoryWhenTheLiveDirectoryMisses.
The only failures are AppDelegateOptionDigitShortcutRoutingTests.fileConfiguredOptionOnlyArrowBindingsRouteBeforeTerminalFallback and terminalKeyEquivalentRoutesActiveOptionDigitWorkspaceShortcut: the terminal surface never becomes first responder on the runner.
Base red:main's own full CI fails the same two tests: run 40756245313, job 123075397242 at main 84400ab23c. They also failed on 498c945, whose copy of the test file is identical to main's (job 123357462631). So the red is not caused by this PR. Its switch to the shared focusTerminalForTesting helper doesn't fix the host focus problem, but doesn't introduce it either.
Still queued: the CLI product/regression jobs (pending, not blocking).
The exhausted-candidates error covers both a missing path and a transport
failure, so its copy now names both instead of only reconnecting.

Correctness review on e397b67ff2d7d7df5db06371a7a621818f77745b (review subagent, Claude; owner: austinywang). It covers the changes since the last PASS on 545f8c73ff6. Verdict: PASS.
Merge of current main (21dcc2b27b2): no conflicts, and none of the 15 PR files changed in the merge. The APIs the PR relies on are unchanged on main: focusTerminalForTesting(_:workspace:in:), the default nil for SurfaceProvider.connectedWorkingDirectory, and the CloudMachineLink members connected, isConnected and run(arguments:timeout:).
e397b67 (resolves the CodeRabbit thread on FileExplorerStore.swift): .remoteFileUnavailable gets its own key, fileExplorer.preview.remoteFileUnavailable, with the text "Check the path, or reconnect and try again." It is translated in all 9 locales. genericFailure stays as the coordinator's fallback. No test asserts the old text.
Checks run:lint-xcstrings.py, localization_catalog.py check (0 parity errors) and localization_defaults.py (0 mismatches) all pass. I did not build locally; the Swift suites run in CI.
CI on e397b67ff2d7d7df5db06371a7a621818f77745b (run 41580671622, attempt 2). Required checks and mergeability are green. Every remaining red also fails on main:
app-host unit tests (changed suites): 535 tests ran. RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoaderTests passed. The only failures are AppDelegateOptionDigitShortcutRoutingTestsfileConfiguredOptionOnlyArrowBindingsRouteBeforeTerminalFallback and terminalKeyEquivalentRoutesActiveOptionDigitWorkspaceShortcut, where the terminal never gets focus on the runner. Same suite fails on main: https://github.com/manaflow-ai/cmux/actions/runs/41500671477/job/125493985877.
Passed: macOS compile admission, swift-package-tests, CLI product tests, all 3 CLI regression shards, and late-placement.

Summary
Fixes #26328. Cmd-clicking a relative file path in a managed SSH terminal now uses the foreground process’s live directory, including after
cdwithout OSC 7. The lookup uses the projected terminal’s already connected SSH link with a five-second deadline and falls back to the reported directory when unavailable.Candidates keep their original order. An earlier successful absolute path opens without waiting for a later relative candidate’s directory lookup. When every remote candidate fails, the existing localized remote-file error dialog replaces the beep. Successes and failures share the same request, lifecycle, connection, projection and focus checks.
kitty-shell-cwdsupport is already present on main. No shell configuration or protocol change is needed.Testing
The regression command is
./scripts/run-e2e.sh cmuxTests/RemoteTerminalFilePreviewLoaderTests --ref <sha>. On test-only commita37491d90f3d23c723baa1f32a18e1af33498147, 12 tests ran with the two expected failures: an absolute success still queried the directory, and missing candidates returned the file-explorer availability error.
