I for one have familiarity with textproto but no familiarity with YAML. I don't know if we tend to prefer, but the results of grepping through test/... seems to agree with you: 400+ matches of TestUtility::loadFromYaml vs 6 matches of Protobuf::TextFormat::ParseFromString |
