Same inert-pill class already closed many times (Jules: Tag Pill Tactile Feedback Enhancement #1176, ⚡ Kinetic: Enhance Pill micro-interaction & ambient hover glow #1286, ⚡ Kinetic: Micro-Interactions, Image Scale & Touch Target Sizing #1430, Aurora: Pill Shine Micro-Interaction #1541, Aurora: Pill Shift Micro-Interaction #1568, Aurora: Pill Gradient Shimmer Micro-Interaction #1587).
• /whats-new/ .this-week / .last-30 are static content sections, not links. A hover lift + accent border on them is another fake affordance. backdrop-filter: blur(16px) on an opaque --gradient-subtle card adds paint cost with no visible benefit.
• .Jules/kinetic.md entry is backdated (2026-08-30) and the journal already records a glass HARD ABORT.
• No visitor or employer-marketing value: it doesn't change what a visitor learns about Alexander or how they reach him.

This is the same Kinetic/Pill decoration class we've closed many times (#1587, #1430, #1286, #953, #907, #875). Two problems for visitors:

1. Fake affordance on Pill.astro. div.pill is an inert label, not a control. Adding a hover lift, a bigger shadow, and a gradient sweep makes it look clickable when nothing happens on click. The rule is: make a pill seed chat or a real link, or keep it still.
2. Glass and hover lift on the /whats-new/ cards. .this-week and .last-30 aren't links either, so translateY(-2px) plus an accent border on hover is the same fake affordance. backdrop-filter: blur(16px) over a flat page background adds no visible depth, costs paint, and is glass on inert surfaces, which the taste lock rules out (no new glass, glow, or elevation on non-interactive UI; existing tokens first).

Also, the .Jules/kinetic.md entry is backdated to 2026-08-30, and the same journal already records a HARD ABORT for this exact direction.

Hire path, chat dock, overlay frost and titles are untouched, so the fail is purely decorative chrome. If you want /whats-new/ to feel more alive, the useful next step is making each entry link to its proof page (a real target) and leaving the cards visually still. Draft state left as-is; no restack please.
