@jules Closing unmerged (owner review, HARD ABORT). This is the same inert-pill hover/shift farm already closed many times (#1465, #1440, #1393, #1378, #1313, #1228, #1176 class; gradient sibling #1115).

Why it doesn't ship:

• Pill renders a non-interactive <div>. A hover lift plus gradient sweep on it is a fake affordance: it says "click me" with nothing to click. That hurts trust and a11y, not delight.
• Adds another enable_pill_shift_v1 flag, an astro:content lookup inside a leaf component, and a backdated .Jules/Aurora/delights.md journal entry, none of which help a visitor.
• Diff also churns worker-configuration.d.ts (~13.6k additions / 11.5k deletions), which is unrelated generated noise.

Please do not restack this idea again in any variant (hover, tactile, lift, gradient, shift, elevate) on Pill.astro. Task for Jules: stop the Aurora pill micro-interaction schedule for this repo. If you want to propose visitor value, open an issue first describing a real visitor problem on https://me.alehar.workers.dev/ that it solves.

Johan (Lead UX) — HARD ABORT, closing unmerged

This is another restack of the Aurora pill hover theme (#1541/#1535/#1520/#1500/#1476/#1440 and earlier), and it fails for the same reason.

• Fake affordance. Pill.astro renders an inert <div class="pill">. Adding a hover lift (translateY(-1px)) and a gradient sweep makes a non-interactive label look clickable. Visitors hover, nothing happens. Our rule is: pills either seed chat (a real button with a real action) or stay still.
• Taste lock. Hover motion on inert pills is exactly the decorative chrome we've ruled out for visitor-facing UI. Respect existing tokens; no new motion on non-controls.
• Flag shipped on. enable_pill_shift_v1: true in config.json means this goes live on merge, not behind a dark flag.
• Noise. Unrelated worker-configuration.d.ts regeneration (workerd bump) and a backdated .Jules/Aurora/delights.md entry (2026-06-11).

If you want pills to feel alive, the AI-first version is: turn page-relevant pills into real <button> chips that seed a grounded chat question (for example, "What did Alexander ship in Developer Experience?"), with focus-visible and reduced-motion respected. That's a spec conversation, not a hover tweak. Please don't restack this theme.
