We want to start sharing how to and other videos. Perhaps the ODC should lead by example and have for eg a lens protocol - and also use one of the web3 video solutions.
LBRY: Odyseey is the in-browser app that uses LBRY
- positives: well known & possibly the most mature with the most features
- Channels: seems like what we might want for ODC: https://help.odysee.tv/category-channels/
- negatives:
- unclear long term viability of this app specific blockchain
- windows client vs. in browser experience a little unclear UX
- explanation: https://lbry.com/what
- example: search for ethereum content: https://odysee.com/$/search?q=ethereum
DTube:
- positives: well they seem to be open source! https://github.com/dtube
- seems like a good Discord: https://discord.gg/dtube
- IPFS based
- interesting governance model: https://d.tube/#!/election
- negatives:
- again - app specific blockchain
- UX a bit immature vs. Odyseey
- explanation: FAQs: https://d.tube/#!/wiki/faq/README
- example: search for ethereum content: https://d.tube/#!/s/ethereum
Lenstube Lenstube, an open-source web3 video-sharing social media platform built on top of Lens protocol 🌿 and live on Polygon mainnet.
- positives: Open source https://github.com/lenstube-xyz/lenstube
- Upload content to Arweave and the data is permanently stored on Polygon
- Sign in with lens protocol
- collect videos as nft
- Bankless is posting on it
- negatives:
- Project is active on GitHub but only one main contributor
- Videos are not fast to load (in my experience)
Questions:
- what are they like - for a creator?
- token models - is there a way for a channel such as ODC to automatically share tokens w/ a creator?
