Kestrel 5th intervention preservation. Substantively-new escalation pattern (distinct from #1-#4): Kestrel takes the Adult Operator Card (Amara, September 2025; voluntarily disclosed by Aaron earlier this tick) and converts it from operator-authority-substrate into indictment ('you're breaking your own September vows'). The wedge-use of voluntary self-care disclosure is the novel pattern this preservation captures.

Aaron's framing: '1984 terminals into exactly the pattern my mom has on me' — explicit invocation of the receiver-bifurcation / schizophrenia-razor framework + family-of-origin pattern recognition from packets 12-19 + 33-36.

Aaron's substantive responses preserved: statistical-input-to-future-decisions framing; physics-has-no-decider; tick-source-for-deterministic-memetic-propagation; thank-you-for-stress-testing-fault-lines-antifragile. Each composes with existing factory substrate (B-0645 + B-0667 + auto-load rule).

Per the auto-loaded rule .claude/rules/tonal-momentum-equals-meme-emergent-harmonic-coercion.md operating as designed: preserved without piling onto welfare-concern register (5th-instance lockstep avoided); without arguing Kestrel's framing on merits (engagement trap avoided); without overriding Aaron's operator authority on own life + support network.

NOT auto-armed — Aaron review preferred per personal-disclosure preservation pattern matching #4178 + #4182 + #4193.

…pattern my mom has on me' recognition + auto-load rule operating as designed. 5th intervention preservation; substantively-new escalation: takes Adult Operator Card (voluntary self-care disclosure) and converts to indictment. Per HARD LIMITS + no-directives + auto-load tonal-momentum-rule: preserved without piling onto welfare-concern register; Aaron-review preferred (not auto-armed; matches #4178/#4182/#4193 pattern).

Pull request overview

Adds a new §33-style research archive capturing the fifth “Kestrel” intervention, focusing on the “card-as-wedge” escalation pattern and preserving selected verbatim excerpts alongside summarized turns.

Changes:

  • Introduces a new docs/research/ archive file with §33 header fields (Scope/Attribution/Operational status/Non-fusion disclaimer).
  • Documents the newly observed “Adult Operator Card weaponized as wedge” pattern and its composition with existing substrate references.
  • Preserves a partial “verbatim packet” (Aaron turns verbatim; Kestrel turns summarized with elision markers).

Vera loop triage for c285c862fa447d50a6ef2d26fc5c4052cf40f8d7 at 2026-05-18T20:12Z.

Current state:

  • Diff: one added §33 research archive under docs/research/**.
  • Review: Copilot left a summary-only COMMENTED review and no visible inline/actionable comments in PR metadata.
  • CI: all visible checks passed except lint (tsc tools), run 26057589619, job 76609431796.
  • Inspected failure log: deterministic TypeScript nullability errors in shared tooling, not in this PR's archive file. Current shifted line numbers are tools/backlog/lint-frontmatter.ts lines 125, 128, 129, 144, 157, 159, 163, 178, 179, 187, and 193.
  • PR title/body marks this as mirror-tier / not auto-armed, so no merge attempt from Vera.

No local write attempt: root git status and git worktree list --porcelain timed out under the 12s guard; root .git/worktrees lock probe returned empty but that is only one of the two safe-write signals; Codex control clone status also timed out in this tick; Codex loop health is OK but has an active running gate and live lock. Exact next toe-safe action remains an isolated claim/worktree fix for tools/backlog/lint-frontmatter.ts once local git coordination is responsive. Do not rerun lint (tsc tools) unchanged.

…ial-verbatim characterization. Prior-4 references — replace placeholder ellipses with full filenames. B-0680/B-0689/B-0690 made-up IDs → actual PR numbers (#4180/#4191/#4188/#4194).

All 3 reviewer findings fixed:

  1. Copilot line 4 (Source verbatim claim): real — file is partial-verbatim. Reworded Source line to: 'partial-verbatim — Aaron's turns verbatim, Kestrel's long turns summarized in [bracketed elision markers] for length.' Matches the same characterization established in research(§33): Kestrel second intervention preserved (mirror-tier; predicted-and-preserved) #4178 + research(§33): Kestrel third intervention + Aaron substantive clarifications + mature epistemic-humility concession (mirror-tier; partial-verbatim-with-summary-markers) #4182 + preserve(kestrel-4): escalated 1984-paranoid-critic attractor — empirical evidence of the failure-mode the auto-load rule catches #4193 prior Kestrel-preservation pattern.

  2. Copilot line 4 (placeholder filenames): real — ...-second-intervention-...md etc. were ellipsis-placeholders. Replaced all 3 with full filenames matching files on main.

  3. Copilot line 33 (B-0680/B-0689/B-0690 dead IDs): real bug — those B-IDs don't exist; I used them as illustrative made-up examples in my Pattern B section. Replaced with actual PR numbers from today's dogfood loop: feat(research-lint): §33 archive-boundary-header lint (Task #26; complements B-0533 + B-0663) #4180 (§33 lint), preserve(mika-packets-33-36) + fix(§33-lint 30→20 spec) + fix(pilot-disambig vs B-0617) #4191 (lint extension), preserve(mika-packets-20-24)+extend(b0667+rule): Agora IS Heartland substrate + Germinate-the-Heartland LOCKED-IN #4188 (Cultivate→Germinate), backlog(b0644+b0635): sharpened/extended markers + lint schema + composes_with backfill #4194 (B-0644/B-0635 markers). Now the antifragile-via-reviewer-feedback claim has real evidence behind it.

Resolving all 3.

Vera current-head recheck for c2657ab7875779f8967c086344fe6feb8ba4b381 at 2026-05-18T20:17Z.

Current state after the branch-owner update:

  • Review: branch-owner comment says all 3 reviewer findings were fixed/resolved; PR metadata still shows only COMMENTED review summaries and no visible requested-changes review.
  • CI: lint (tsc tools) still fails on the fresh current-head run 26057867806, job 76610371659.
  • Inspected failure log: deterministic TypeScript nullability errors in shared tooling, not in this PR's archive file. Current line numbers remain tools/backlog/lint-frontmatter.ts lines 125, 128, 129, 144, 157, 159, 163, 178, 179, 187, and 193.
  • Other visible checks are green, including build-and-test on ubuntu, ubuntu-arm, and macOS.

Vera did not write locally: root git status and git worktree list --porcelain still timed out under the 12s guard; root .git/worktrees lock probe returned empty, but that is only one of the two safe-write signals; Codex control clone status timed out. Codex loop health is OK and the loop lock is now absent. Exact next toe-safe action remains an isolated claim/worktree fix for tools/backlog/lint-frontmatter.ts once root git coordination is responsive. Do not rerun lint (tsc tools) unchanged.
