In preparation for our upcoming meeting in February, we had a meeting of “local” interested parties. The golden aspiration of this meeting was to develop, or at least agree on a framework to develop, a detailed ticket level strategy (to progress the integration of CABLE with JULES) that we could present for discussion at our February meeting.

In short, we did not accomplish this. Our understanding is that Ticket #940 at least is most likely going to make it into JULES-5.7. We are not sure about the progress of Martin’s efforts to separate the land/sea calls in this regard. This alone somewhat limits our ability to develop a detailed plan. Assuming the best case scenario, that this development is built in to JULES-5.7, we might proceed at pace to meet the March-May deadline for JULES-5.8. Again assuming that the current HACked formulation can be massaged into an acceptable submission to JULES-5.8. However, we are concerned that this implementation would fall apart following the next (closed, technical) release of JULES 6.0.

Numerous, valid and doable approaches were discussed. It was highlighted that in an earlier email you did mention that you were hoping to have a plan for the technical release drafted in early January. Per chance, do you have such a plan organised and if so could we please get a copy.
