Nothing blocking. The comments below are optional suggestions. There is no need to push a fix for them before merging.
Beyond the inline finding, I also checked that summarize()'s .endsWith(".test.ts:") filter holds on Windows for the subdirectory/tsconfig cases — normalizeBunSnapshot converts \ → / before the split, so tests/alias.test.ts: matches. Also verified tempDir(name, String(base)) recursively copies .git (harness makeTreeSync → fs.cpSync({recursive: true})), and that the watchRuns framing regex's trailing \n is safe because the watch describe is skipIf(isWindows).

This is a test-only refactor that tightens assertions and speeds up setup. The one confirmed finding (pinning git's own fatal: not a git repository wording in an inline snapshot) is a real portability risk since gitEnv doesn't set LANG/LC_ALL and git's phrasing varies across versions. Beyond that, I read the new summarize helper against Windows path separators (the subdirectory and tsconfig cases now pin tests/alias.test.ts instead of just checking membership) — normalizeBunSnapshot already normalizes backslashes so the .test.ts: suffix filter is stable. I also confirmed the tempDir(name, String(base)) copy path uses fs.cpSync({recursive: true}) so the .git directory comes along, and that the watchRuns regex's required trailing \n isn't a CRLF hazard because the whole watch block is skipped on Windows. Nothing else stood out.

LGTM — thanks for adding LC_ALL: "C" to gitEnv, that addresses the locale concern on the pinned git error snapshot.

Overview
Test-only refactor of test/cli/test/test-changed.test.ts (no runtime code touched). Converts the sync spawnSync git helpers to async Bun.spawn, commits the shared fixture once in beforeAll and copies it per case, replaces the loose ranFiles() contains-check with a structured summarize() + toEqual and inline snapshots, collapses four near-identical edit cases into test.each, and extracts spawnWatch()/watchRuns() helpers for the three --watch cases. gitEnv gains LC_ALL=C and GIT_CONFIG_{COUNT,KEY_0,VALUE_0} so commit.gpgsign=false is set via env instead of a per-repo git config process.
Security risks
None. The change only touches a test file: it spawns local git and bun processes against tempDir-created fixtures, contacts no network, and handles no untrusted input.
Level of scrutiny
Low-to-moderate. It is a test refactor with no effect on shipped code; the worst failure mode is a flaky or over-tight snapshot, which fails loudly in CI rather than silently regressing behavior. The diff closely follows the repo's harness conventions from CLAUDE.md/test/CLAUDE.md: bunExe()/bunEnv, tempDir, normalizeBunSnapshot + toMatchInlineSnapshot, structured .toEqual over chained .toContain, stderr asserted before exitCode, await using for subprocess disposal, describe.concurrent for independent spawns, and setDefaultTimeout branched on isASAN || isDebug.
Other factors
My one prior (optional) note — the git-error snapshot pinning git's own localized stderr — was addressed in the follow-up commit by adding LC_ALL: "C" to gitEnv with an explanatory comment. No CODEOWNERS entry covers this path. No third-party CHANGES_REQUESTED reviews are outstanding. The bug hunt exited on a dry streak with no findings, and the PR description reports passing runs on Linux debug-ASAN plus Windows x64/aarch64 canary, which covers the cross-platform snapshot risk. The remaining residual — that a future git release rewords fatal: not a git repository — is a routine snapshot-maintenance cost and was already called out as optional.

LGTM — the latest push addresses the remaining concerns.
What was reviewed: confirmed tempDir(name, String(base)) hits the harness copy-folder path so the shared .git is duplicated per case; the new watchRuns() deadline rejects before the outer timeout so await using still kills a hung watcher and the failure message includes the buffered output; LC_ALL=C plus the core.excludesFile / maintenance.auto env config keeps the pinned git error and the node_modules fixture stable across CI git configs; summarize() sorts file headers so filesystem-order differences don't flake the toEqual assertions.

Overview
This PR is a test-only refactor of test/cli/test/test-changed.test.ts with no production code touched. It replaces per-test spawnSync-based git repo setup with a single base repo committed in beforeAll and copied per case via tempDir(name, String(base)), converts the git() helper to async Bun.spawn, moves per-repo git config calls into GIT_CONFIG_COUNT/GIT_CONFIG_KEY_n env vars, collapses four near-identical edit cases into a test.each table, replaces the loose ranFiles() substring check with summarize() that pins the exact status line / sorted file list / Ran ... line, moves several cases to full normalizeBunSnapshot inline snapshots, and rewrites the --watch block around a watchRuns() reader that yields one complete run at a time with an internal deadline. Three commits: the initial refactor, an LC_ALL=C fix (addressing my earlier inline comment about localized git messages), and a final commit adding the watch-run deadline plus core.excludesFile/maintenance.auto neutralization.
Security risks
None. This is test infrastructure only — no runtime, parsing, auth, crypto, or network code is touched. The test spawns local git and bun processes against harness-created temp directories with a hermetic env; no external hosts are contacted.
Level of scrutiny
Low-to-moderate. Test-only changes carry no user-facing risk; the review focus is on whether the refactor introduces flakiness or weakens coverage. Coverage is strictly tightened: the old ranFiles() only checked that named files appeared as substrings, so an extra test file running would go unnoticed; summarize() now pins the exact sorted file list and the N/M test files count. The --watch block's new deadline (0.8× the file timeout) means a hung watcher rejects with buffered output rather than the outer test timing out with no diagnostic, and await using proc still runs to kill the child. The summary regex requires a trailing \n after the Ran ... line, so partial-line reads can't split a run early. File headers are sorted before comparison, which handles the cross-filesystem directory-order note in the PR description.
Other factors
No CODEOWNERS entry covers this path. My earlier optional inline comment (git error message localization) was addressed by adding LC_ALL: "C" to gitEnv. The most recent commit further hardened the env against a developer's ~/.config/git/ignore hiding the node_modules fixture and against foreground git maintenance on Windows — both plausible sources of CI/local divergence. The change follows the repo's test conventions closely (async Bun.spawn with await using, tempDir from harness, normalizeBunSnapshot, test.each, describe.concurrent, stderr asserted before exitCode), and the author reports 6 passing local runs plus 4 each on Windows x64 and aarch64. There are no outstanding third-party CHANGES_REQUESTED reviews.
Problem
test/cli/test/test-changed.test.tstakes 11s on Windows 11 aarch64 and 4s on Windows x64 (build 108747). The cost is git: each case ran six git commands throughspawnSync, 125 in a row, which blocked the concurrent cases too. The file is ontest/parallel-denylist.txtbecause cases timed out inside the parallel batch.--changed:status line or theRanline, and the error case only checked that stderr contains "git".Fix

Timings are in the notes. Self-reviewed: 3 concerns raised, 3 addressed. Background
bun test --changedasks git for the changed files and runs only the test files whose import graph reaches one. Each spawned run makes 3 git calls of its own, which stay.Notes
Wall clock of the whole file, same machine, old then new (head a2307f7):

maintenance.auto=false), the Windows 11 aarch64 shard ran the file in 3.0s, down from 11s in build 108747. The file's shard is not the longest one on that lane, so the lane's wall time does not move. The gain is per-file cost and batch behavior. The debug build gains less because the cost there is the start of about 20 debug
bunprocesses, not git.Git processes spawned by the test file itself (the 3 per
bun test --changedrun are not counted): before, 20 xinitRepo(6 each) + 5 = 125. After, 1 baseinitRepo(3) + 9 custom fixtures (3 each) + 1git add+ 2git commit -a= 33. Each of the 12 commits also used to spawngit maintenance run --auto --quiet --detach. Withmaintenance.auto=falsegit spawns nothing (checked withGIT_TRACE=1). On Windows that child cannot detach, so the commit waited for it.Parallel batch:
cli/test/test-changed.test.tsis intest/parallel-denylist.txt(and inexcludeFilesoftest/parallel-allowlist.json) because cases timed out inside the shard's parallel batch and passed alone. The 125 serialspawnSyncgit calls under batch CPU contention are the likely cause, and this PR removes them. Taking the file off the denylist is a separate follow-up once it has a clean run history.Assertion changes, case by case:

The trigger-name case keeps its hex check and also snapshots the run with the path replaced.Self-review findings and what changed:
Ranline would have hung until bun's test timeout. In a concurrent group bun does not kill a timed-out test's children (kill_dangling_processes_on_timeoutonly acts when one sequence runs), so thebun test --watchchild would have outlived the test and the failure would have shown none of its output.watchRuns.next()now races each read against a deadline at 80% of the test timeout and rejects with the buffered output. The rejection makes the test body throw, soawait using prockills the child andusing dirremoves the temp dir. Checked with an unmatchable regex and a 6s timeout: the three cases fail at about 5s, each failure prints the child's stderr, and no watcher process survives.GIT_CONFIG_GLOBALdoes not redirect the global ignore file (~/.config/git/ignore).
