Fixes #12360

Cloud folders and terminal placements now expose Pin/Unpin, Move Up/Down, and native same-parent drag ordering in the real right sidebar. Preferences persist on this Mac by machine and stable workspace/tab IDs; these actions do not rename, detach, duplicate, or restart terminals. The existing left sidebar keeps its ordering behavior.

Codex's native title hook previously wrote only the local process-title layer, while Cloud projections consumed the daemon graph; general auto-naming also rejected Cloud projections. Agent titles now use the same exact daemon-tab rename lane as user tab edits. Cmd+R resolves the owning workspace by its persisted binding or exact tab placement, so a terminal rename does not break workspace rename. The sidebar continues to consume accepted Cloud snapshots.

Title precedence: explicit user or remote placement labels beat automatic/process titles. Agent labels may update earlier agent labels. Matching daemon confirmations preserve local provenance; a newer deliberate remote rename/clear updates projections. Pending requests and daemon mutation receipts protect delayed snapshots, and request-generation ownership gates failure rollback. Agent writes additionally compare the expected placement name after obtaining the current graph. Workspace names remain independent from their terminal labels; differently named placements of one terminal remain independent. The flat terminal inventory shows a shared explicit label only when all placements agree, otherwise its process title.

Blue notification dots already existed. They now occupy a fixed leading slot immediately before terminal/folder icons; collapsed folders aggregate the same descendant unread state. Notifications raise only containing workspace folders within their machine and unpinned partition. They never automatically reorder terminals inside folders or in the flat Terminals section. Both sidebars use the same notification effect and live reorder setting; explicit manual moves remain separate.

Trade-offs: order/pins are Mac-local preferences, while daemon resource identity and names remain authoritative. A fixed attention slot consumes six points plus spacing to avoid icon shifts on unread/read transitions. Explicit remote labels are protected from automatic renaming; a user can clear a label to return to process/agent naming. No white-background change (#12449).

Validation on the pushed HEAD 52d6206:

 • Separate regression-only commit edb1e4381179ea11f53a82b52c51ce054d590396, followed by the implementation commit. Hosted baseline and fixed runs (including compile-fixture and main-merge repairs) exercise the real socket hook and graph/outline behavior; failures before test execution are not counted as regression proof.
 • Behavior coverage: manual ordering/pin persistence, workspace-only notification moves, disabled settings, machine/pin isolation, multi-placement notifications, unread/read/clear/reconnect, exact rename targets, both user/agent rename orders, pending receipts, rollback ownership, session restore, and stale callbacks.
 • Hosted rendering checks and attachments cover leading dots, narrow pinned rows, collapsed folders, and hover controls. Private report screenshots are not uploaded.
 • Swift file-length budget, project normalization/parse, test wiring, and localization catalog checks. Neither budget TSV changed; localization audit reuses existing translated strings across all nine macOS locales.
 • Current-head autoreview and required checks are being rerun after the latest main merges. No local builds/tests or dogfood launches; no merge.

Explanation

The PR also changes behavior that is not required by [ #12360 ]. The changes add cloud terminal I/O methods, terminal close fallback and local-pane closure behavior, and a broad cloud title rename pipeline across CmuxTuiSurfaceProvider, Workspace, TabManager, SurfaceCatalog, and rename services. These changes do not implement sidebar ordering, pinning, notification preservation, or verification of the Cloud right sidebar. The PR summary does not establish a sidebar-specific dependency for these unrelated behavior changes.

Full details: Docstring Coverage

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 33.77% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 151 functions across 58 files. (4 skipped: 3 unsupported, 1 too large.)

Full details: Cmux Algorithmic Complexity

Explanation

The PR adds quadratic notification and batch-ordering scans in production code. In Sources/Cloud/Sidebar/CloudSidebarNotificationCoordinator.swift:20, every enqueue calls removeAll over that machine's pending resource array. A burst of B distinct resources therefore costs O(B²). In Sources/Cloud/Sidebar/CloudSidebarOrganizationStore.swift:56-63, raiseNotifications iterates each resource and repeatedly calls ordered and apply for the same sibling group. Those operations rescan the sibling collection, producing O(R×G) work and O(G²) when R and G are both about 1000. These paths are notification and batch actions. The PR provides no explicit smaller bound or benchmark.

Resolution

Use an indexed ordered structure for notification coalescing. Track resource membership and newest delivery position with a Set/dictionary or ordered-set equivalent, instead of scanning the pending array on every enqueue. For raiseNotifications, group matching resources by parent first, compute each parent’s ordered sibling list once, and apply the matching workspace block in one pass. Reuse indexed sibling membership and pin partitions. Add a benchmark or explicit bound if any nested scan remains.

Full details: Cmux Swift Concurrency

Explanation

The diff adds an internal completion callback for an async rename operation. CloudRenameCoordinator.enqueue now accepts onFailure: @escaping @mainactor (Error) -> Void and invokes it from the catch around try await operation() (Sources/Surfaces/CloudRenameCoordinator.swift:73-95). SurfaceCatalog.enqueueRemoteWorkspaceRename and enqueueRemoteTabRename expose and forward the same callback, and Workspace+CloudPaneRouting supplies rollback closures at the two call sites. These are cmux-owned caller/callee APIs, and enqueue already returns Task<Void, Error>, so this introduces the completion-handler pattern covered by the check. The new sidebar notification task is stored and cancelled in deinit, and the AppKit menu callback is an allowed boundary.

Resolution

Remove the onFailure callback parameters from CloudRenameCoordinator.enqueue and both SurfaceCatalog.enqueue... methods. Expose the rename propagation as async throws or return the existing Task<Void, Error> to a caller-owned operation. Perform rollback in the caller's do/catch after awaiting that task. If the synchronous UI entry points must remain synchronous, store and cancel a per-operation task and keep its error handling inside that task instead of using an internal completion callback.

Full details: Cmux Swift Package Boundaries

Explanation

The PR adds independently testable Cloud sidebar organization logic to the app target. CloudSidebarOrganizationAction, CloudSidebarOrganizationGroup, and CloudSidebarOrganizationState are registered under the app's Sources build phase, and no Package.swift or package target changes are present. These types use only Foundation/value types and implement persistent ordering, pinning, and move validation without AppKit, SwiftUI, Ghostty, or app lifecycle state. The action is reused by context menus, drag handling, notifications, and socket clients. The new tests import the app module instead of a package module.

Resolution

Create a small SwiftPM target, such as CmuxCloudSidebarCore, and move the pure organization model into it: CloudSidebarOrganizationAction, CloudSidebarOrganizationGroup, and CloudSidebarOrganizationState. Make CloudSidebarOrganizationState the first public API type, with the action and group as its supporting public value types. Add package-local unit tests for ordering, pinning, and invalid/no-op actions. Keep AppKit views, CloudTreeNode adapters, CloudSidebarOrganizationStore, SurfaceCatalog integration, socket handlers, and app-lifecycle composition in the app target, then make the app depend on the new package product.

Full details: Cmux Full Internationalization

Explanation

The PR adds five production localization keys in Resources/Localizable.xcstrings: cli.vm.sidebar.usage, cloudTree.menu.pin, cloudTree.menu.unpin, cloudTree.organization.invalidAction, and cloudTree.organization.unread. The catalog supports 20 locale codes, but each new key has translations for only 9 locales (ar, de, en, es, fr, ja, ko, zh-Hans, zh-Hant) and is missing bs, da, it, km, nb, pl, pt-BR, ru, th, tr, and uk. The new Swift call sites use localized APIs, but the catalog entries are incomplete. The PR also adds the user-facing metadata description Cloud Sidebar Row to Resources/Info.plist without a corresponding localized metadata entry in Resources/InfoPlist.xcstrings.

Resolution

Add translated values for all 20 supported locale codes to each of the five new Resources/Localizable.xcstrings keys. Add localized metadata entries for the new Cloud Sidebar Row type in the app's InfoPlist localization resources for every locale supported by Resources/InfoPlist.xcstrings.

Full details: Cmux Architecture Rethink

Explanation

The new CloudSidebarNotificationCoordinator adds a production delayed-dispatch repair path. enqueue stores resources in a separate pending dictionary and schedules Task { self?.flush() } for the next main-actor turn (Sources/Cloud/Sidebar/CloudSidebarNotificationCoordinator.swift:8-29). flushSidebarNotifications then re-reads the mutable SurfaceCatalog and filters resources (Sources/Cloud/Sidebar/SurfaceCatalog+SidebarOrganization.swift:48-53). This creates a lifecycle race window between notification admission and catalog teardown or resource replacement. The new queuedNotificationCannotRaiseDeletedResource test confirms that the queue exists to handle that race. The accepted catalog graph and CloudSidebarOrganizationStore should own the transition; the coordinator is a side channel with timing-dependent behavior.

Resolution

Remove the pending Task queue as the first migration cut. Handle notification admission and sidebar organization in one @MainActor catalog transition, using the accepted catalog resource/graph revision as the source of truth. If batching is required, store the batch in the catalog reducer and apply it against the same accepted revision, with an explicit teardown/deletion transition, rather than waiting for the next actor turn. Then delete CloudSidebarNotificationCoordinator.pending, task, and the delayed flush() path.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Decouple organization drags from projection payloads.

CloudTreeNode+Organization.swift makes remote workspaces organizable, while CloudTreeNode.isDragSource excludes workspaces. An empty workspace has no dragGroup because its placement group is empty. outlineView(_:pasteboardWriterForItem:) returns nil at the dragGroup guard before CloudTreeSurfaceDragPasteboardWriter can write .cloudSidebarRow. The existing drag test uses workspaces containing one terminal, so it does not cover this case. The drop path already uses the row ID as its organization identity.

Return a row-ID-only pasteboard item for organization-only rows:

Preserve PendingRemoteCreation until the remote close succeeds.

recordCreatedTerminal stores the creation receipt, and graph publication keeps the pending overlay until that receipt is reached. closeTerminal removes the overlay before runCloseCommand. If the close fails, a stale snapshot can replace or patch the catalog without the overlay and hide a terminal that still exists remotely.

Remove the pending creation only after the terminal-close command succeeds or the selector-not-found tab-close fallback succeeds.

Update closeTerminal so pendingRemoteCreations retains the PendingRemoteCreation
while the remote close is in progress; remove the entry only after
runCloseCommand succeeds or the selector-not-found tab-close fallback succeeds,
and leave it intact on close failure.
