In `@b12x/attention/dsa_indexer/_preparation.py`:
- Line 293: Update the preparation flow around observe_launchers() so
launcher_sink is a mapping keyed by launcher_key, while retaining the observer’s
yielded list separately. Ensure top-k launcher assignments and packed-contiguous
routes use the keyed mapping without tuple-indexing errors.
In `@b12x/preparation/session.py`:
- Line 647: Update the docstring text in the CollectiveRequirement-related
synchronization description to replace “Both ranks” with “All participant
ranks,” accurately documenting collective behavior for any number of
participants.
- Line 117: Update PreparationJob._collective_barrier and the surrounding
PreparationSession contract so B12X_COLLECTIVE_BARRIER_TIMEOUT is enforced by a
clearly defined layer rather than only formatting CollectiveBarrierTimeout.
Preserve the existing two-argument callback signature (requirement.key and
requirement.ranks) unless every caller is intentionally migrated, and do not
pass a third timeout argument as a localized fix.

The preparation-session path (77351c1) resolves RoCE declarations through _dtypes(), which normalizes caller strings like 'float16' to torch.dtype objects, then compile_roce passes them straight into get_launcher. get_launcher's signature is dtype_name: str and _RoceOneshotLaunch rejects anything else against _DTYPE_PACK_ELEMS, so every weights-stage RoCE preparation dies with "unsupported RoCE one-shot dtype torch.float16" before the first collective. The old runtime path converted objects to names via _DTYPE_NAMES in roce_oneshot._launcher_key; the preparation path bypasses it. Normalize torch.dtype objects to their names at get_launcher entry, matching the conversion the runtime path already applies. Both call forms now reach the kernel gate; string behavior is unchanged. Reproduced and verified host-side: torch.float16 object clears the dtype gate post-fix (raising only the orthogonal threads check), and the string form is byte-identical in behavior. Pre-existing E501s and stale PCIe comm tests are untouched by this change.
…alues
Eight PCIe compile surfaces return the plain launch closure over their
annotated native program without attaching the program identity:
_dcp_a2a_cute: lse_reduce_scatter, all_gather_heads, all_gather_pair,
kimi_topk16
_dcp_topk_cute: owner stage
_hierarchical_cute: hierarchical launcher
_island_rs_cute: island reduce-scatter launcher
_vocab_argmax_cute: vocab argmax launcher
describe_compilation and every evict sweep call program_keys() over
those values; a plain function matches nothing, so any unit whose
CompileJob resolves one of these surfaces, or any evict_unretained pass
that reaches a cache holding one, dies with 'compile factory returned
an unannotated function'. On GB10 this surfaced mid norm.mhc racing
because the compile pool and eviction sweep span all registered caches,
not just the racing unit.
Wrap each closure with attach_programs(run, raw) so it carries its
program into retention and sweep keys. Additionally, program_keys now
treats plain functions as opaque retained values instead of raising:
a launcher closure produced outside a compile factory has no program
identity to lose, and eviction must never kill a live race. Factories
that return a carrierless closure still fail describe_compilation's
empty-carry guard, so the preparation contract is unchanged.
Verified host-side: plain function sweeps to (), wrapped closure
carries its ProgramKey, dict-of-annotated factories unchanged,
describe_compilation still rejects carrierless factories, exotic
unannotated objects still raise. Preparation host lane: 490 passed,
1 failed (test_device_reclaim selection-source assert) which fails
identically without this change.
compile_twoshot_surface resolves FP8 surfaces through get_twoshot_launcher, which returned a bare closure, so describe_compilation saw zero program carriers — same class as the RoCE and PCIe one-shot gaps. The BF16 getters already attach.
A collective authorization is consumed in the round after the exchange, and the local work before either rank launches (autotune races) is unbounded, so the kernel-side spin window ended up covering round time instead of launch jitter. Sessions now accept an optional collective_barrier(key, ranks) hook; when a blocked CollectiveRequirement is authorized, the job waits for every participant rank to enter before resuming. Timeout budget defaults to 120s via B12X_COLLECTIVE_BARRIER_TIMEOUT; timeouts raise CollectiveBarrierTimeout carrying key, ranks, and arrived sets.
torch's cpp_extension staleness check is mtime-based and does not survive a persisted TORCH_EXTENSIONS_DIR, so a changed _memory.cpp next to an old cached .so loaded stale symbols (missing release_graph_pool_cache). Key the extension name by the cpp content hash so any source change gets a fresh build directory.

get_launcher accepts str or torch.dtype. The torch.dtype spelling went through a bare dict lookup, so an unsupported dtype raised KeyError while the string spelling raised the documented ValueError from _RoceOneshotLaunch. Convert the lookup failure to the same ValueError.
Retain cross-rank collective priming and compiler program carriers while preserving master-scoped reclamation and RoCE shared-result ownership. Selected preparation, layout and RoCE tests pass (209 cases in the Kimi composition).

The branch now merges B12X Qualified checks: 209 preparation/compile-plan/RoCE CPU tests passed. The composed Kimi-K3 EXL3 TP9/DCP9 runtime completes multi-rank preparation, CUDA Graph capture and three 4096-token DSpark generations. It reproduces the preserved runtime's output text byte-for-byte, with equal token counts and all acceptance counters. The composition and companion PRs are tracked in local-inference-lab/vllm#906. AI assistance: OpenAI Codex. This is runtime evidence for the tested PCIe topology, not a qualification of RoCE hardware or arbitrary process groups. |

…3.8 step-5500 docs (#36) * build(vllmb12x): rebase source pair onto Karmic beta * build(vllmb12x): pin native MXFP8 MTP source pair * test(image): accept the selected source cycle version * fix(ci): stage publisher outputs on the CSI workspace Both PR runs were evicted for node ephemeral-storage pressure during OCI materialization. Keep the checkout and Bazel output tree as separate directories on the 256Gi workspace instead of Tekton home emptyDir. Verify startup placement with a real Bazel output_base smoke run, the server dry-run, 55 script tests and four reproducibility tests. * build(vllmb12x): pin MXFP8 intermediate padding fix vLLM b607be3600 zero-pads the per-rank MXFP8 expert intermediate to the B12X W8A8 K block, so the step5500 MTP experts load at TP=2 (640/2 = 320 -> 384). * docs(vllmb12x): record MXFP8 intermediate padding in included changes * build(vllmb12x): bump CUDA pips to latest and align with upstream vLLM CUDA packages now track their latest releases (pre-releases allowed): nvidia-cutlass-dsl 4.8.0, quack-kernels 0.6.5, tilelang 0.1.15, cuda-python 13.4.1, cuda-tile 1.6.0, nvidia-cudnn-frontend 1.30.0, humming-kernels 0.1.16, tokenspeed-mla 0.2.15, nccl4py 0.6.0, nvtx 0.2.16, nvidia-ml-py 13.615.71. tilelang 0.1.15 caps apache-tvm-ffi below 0.1.13, so tvm-ffi resolves to 0.1.12. Add what upstream integration/karmic-kraken-beta requires and the image lacked: numba==0.65.0 (ngram proposer, JIT monitor, vision processors), PyNvVideoCodec 2.2.3 (GPU video decoder), nixl 1.5.0 (object-store KV tiering) and fastokens 0.3.2 (VLLM_USE_FASTOKENS=1). Raise the vendored huggingface_hub floor to upstream's >=1.31.0 (arm64 had 1.30.0). Locks now target manylinux_2_34, the tag pip.parse already downloads; tilelang >=0.1.13 publishes aarch64 wheels only for 2_34. Verified on the SM120 ARM64 host by overlaying the new arm64 wheels on pr-36-b607be360037: every bumped module and its vLLM/B12X consumers import, and the MXFP8 test lane passes 24/24 on CUTLASS DSL 4.8.0. * build(vllmb12x): pin unpadded MXFP8 intermediate source pair vLLM 0a6739845a drops the 320->384 zero padding; B12X 965e748f runs W8A8 MXFP8 experts at 32-aligned intermediate sizes through separate up/gate descriptors. SM120: B12X MXFP8 lane 29/29, vLLM lane 24/24, memcheck clean; MoE kernel time equal at 1-4 tokens, 6-10% lower at 16-64 tokens. * ci(tekton): release finished runs' staging claims before cloning Each run claims 256Gi on server21's thick-provisioned scratch pool and kept it after finishing, so two finished runs blocked the next clone pod for its whole 1h timeout. Both pipelines now run the vllmb12x-release-staging Task (ci manifests) first, which deletes the task pods and claims of earlier finished vllmb12x runs. * ci(tekton): fetch the staging-release Task through the cluster resolver PAC inlines named taskRefs from the repository or hub and rejected the run with 'cannot find referenced task'; a cluster-resolver reference is left for Tekton to resolve from the ci namespace. * docs(recipes): Qwen3.8 Flash Next and AI Gateway docs match the live deployment Recipe: step-5500 revision 60215d26, 0.74 utilization, unpadded MXFP8 MTP experts on B12X, adaptive shm spin at 50 ms, rank-zero KV events, the image built from vLLM 0a6739845a32 + B12X 965e748f74fe, and the idle benchmark on that image with the padded-draft run for comparison. Routing docs: 3600 s route timeout, BackendTrafficPolicies, native /v1/messages route, EPP -v=4, Envoy Gateway extension config and GatewayClass controller name from the live cluster; RecipeBuilder gains the routing target the guide already referenced. * docs(site): list the open upstream pull requests on the homepage vllm-multiarch-oci#25 is merged and local-inference-lab/vllm#777 was closed; list the open local-inference-lab/vllm#800 and local-inference-lab/b12x#384 instead. * docs(site): list vllm#955 and b12x#449 on the homepage
