This pull request fixes an issue where the 'auto' model keyword was incorrectly rewritten to 'codex/auto' on the Codex '/v1/responses' path, causing ChatGPT to reject it. The fix ensures that the bare 'auto' keyword passes through untouched so that downstream combo routing can handle it. A new unit test file has been added under 'tests/unit/' to verify this behavior, complying with the repository's style guide. Problem: setting the Codex model to
autoreturned[400] {"detail":"The 'auto' model is not supported when using Codex with a ChatGPT account."}.resolveResponsesApiModelonly treated DB-stored combo names as pass-through; the bareautokeyword (OmniRoute zero-config auto-routing, handled by isAutoRouting in chat.ts — not a DB combo) fell through and was rewritten tocodex/auto, which ChatGPT rejects.Fix: added an early
requestedModel === "auto"guard that passes it through unchanged (auto/<strategy>was already covered by the slash guard). Combo routing then handles auto-routing normally.Test (Rule #18):
tests/unit/auto-combo-codex-responses-3509.test.ts— RED before the guard (auto→codex/auto, changed:true); the existing #3227/#3233 + combo-name rewrite suites still green (codex-preference for real model ids preserved).
