How are the Colouring Cities platforms set up?

Below, we will detail how some of the Colouring Cities platforms are configured, where they are running and what settings they use.

Colouring Britain

Colouring Britain runs on a Virtual Machine (VM) on the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform.

• Our Staging Site runs on a 'Standard B2ms' sized machine. This costs around £25 (GBP) per month and runs a little bit slowly but is sufficient for testing new and in-development features.
• Our Production Site runs on a 'Standard B8ms' sized VM. This costs around £100 (GBP) per month and gives plenty of enough performance, even when multiple users are using the site.

Both our VMs use the Linux (ubuntu 20.04) Operating System.
