After installing Codename Goose (the Desktop version; not the CLI version) on my Ubuntu machine today (August 1st, 2025), I still received the following warning when running I downloaded the DEB file today from https://block.github.io/goose/docs/getting-started/installation. Add missing package metadata fields to Electron Forge configuration:
This resolves the
dpkgwarning about missing 'Maintainer' field when installing packages withapt:There are plenty of additional options to bikeshed in MakerRpmConfigOptions and MakerDebConfigOptions, but this is more than sufficient to resolve the warning and put Goose in the Development category in the menu rather than just in All.
