Adds bloomer as a third migration source: pnpm dlx bestax-migrate bloomer src/.

Why this population is stuck

bloomer is the oldest still-used React Bulma wrapper — archived since 2018, Bulma 0.6 era, React ^16.2 on create-react-class — and at 1,888 downloads/month (measured 2026-08-29) it is now the largest remaining population, ahead of rbx. Unlike rbx it never pinned Bulma; the app declared its own 0.6, which is what the manifest pass bumps.

Shape of the change

Modelled on #613. The first commit is a pure refactor that lands before any bloomer code and is verified inert against the existing 902 tests (unit suites, fixture outputs and both corpora unchanged):

_shared/ now also carries viewports.ts (Bulma's nine viewports → bestax's prop suffixes). bloomer's own files are mapping.ts, specials.ts, responsive.ts, deps.ts, styles.ts and a transform.ts that is rbx's minus the wrapping pass, the extension CSS and — because every bloomer export is flat — the destructuring/alias pass.

How bloomer differs as a source

Flat exports, compound targets. All 108 exports are top-level; bestax groups them, so most rows rename a flat name onto a dotted target (CardHeaderTitle → Card.Header.Title, HeroFooter → Hero.Foot, Subtitle → SubTitle). The issue's "identity map" framing was wrong; the rename and value-reference passes already build dotted targets from a flat identifier, so it cost no machinery.
Helpers are universal by construction (withHelpersModifiers wraps every component). isDisplay/isHidden take three shapes — string, array, object — and flatten onto bestax's per-viewport props; every Bulma viewport including touch and the -only ones has a bestax prop, so nothing there is a TODO.
is* booleans pass through; the value props are polymorphic. isSize is numeric on Title/Subtitle, sizes-or-fractions-or-object on Column, '128x128' on Image, a string elsewhere — so it is claimed per component and a coverage test asserts every holder claims it. isAlign becomes alignment, align, right, a container class, or a TODO depending on the component.
tag → as only where bestax declares as (a TODO elsewhere, like rbx's as); a test holds the documented list to the mapping. render is always a TODO. bloomer's href → <a> switch is honoured (Button/Level.Item gain as="a").
Icons are className-based and Font Awesome 4. FA5/6 and MDI class strings become name/library/variant; anything else moves onto an <i> child (bestax's Icon accepts a custom node since feat(bulma-ui): allow Icon to render a custom node via children #636 — identical runtime markup) with an advisory TODO, since bestax's FA peer is 6.7+.
Wrappers bestax renders itself are unwrapped: Page folds onto its PageLink/PageEllipsis, PageControl picks Pagination.Previous/Next from isNext, TabLink becomes the plain <a> inside Tabs.Item. Help, Label, Heading, BreadcrumbItem, PanelTab and HeroVideo become the plain Bulma markup bloomer rendered.
Dead Bulma: Tile, the Bulma 0.4 Nav family, Columns isGrid and .heading's styles are gone; those are todo entries. bestax has no prop for Hero isBold/isHalfHeight, Media isSize, SubTitle isSpaced, Input isActive — className TODOs, no bulma-ui changes.
Modal advisory is inverted from rbx's: bloomer's Modal was an inert shell; bestax's closes on Escape and locks scroll by default, so every conversion is flagged with how to opt in or out.

bloomer is never installed anywhere in this repo. Fixtures and the corpus are read as text at a pinned SHA into gitignored .e2e-tmp/; only migrated output is typechecked.

Notes for review

telemetry-worker/src/schema.ts gains 'bloomer' — lands in the feat commit so every commit is conformant; that worker deploys on merge.
fix(create-bestax) is in the stack deliberately (as on feat(bestax-migrate): add rbx as a migration source #613): a squash-merge collapses the commits, so the release note should keep that scope visible or create-bestax needs its own release for the bundled skill to reach generated apps.
Sibling drift noticed, deliberately not fixed here: rbx's icon special still TODOs every unparseable child although bestax accepts children since feat(bulma-ui): allow Icon to render a custom node via children #636, and rbx/RBC's responsive tables still mark touch/-only as unsupported although bestax has had those props since feat(bulma-ui): add touch/-only responsive viewports and grid display #627. Both are follow-ups.
Issue [Feature] bestax-migrate: add bloomer as a migration source #410's body was rewritten before implementation to reflect the above; the original framing is in its edit history.

…s into _shared Both transforms carried the same owner-keyed alias resolver, and rbx's responsive pass carried literal/object helpers RBC re-implemented with a different signature. A third source would have copied both again. Behaviour is unchanged: the unit suites and fixture outputs are identical.

bloomer's exports are flat while bestax's families are dotted, so most of the table renames a flat name onto a compound target; every component carries bloomer's helper props through its HOC, so isDisplay/isHidden get their own array/object flattening; tag, render, isSize and isAlign are resolved per component because bestax declares their counterparts on a subset, with differing types. Icons, pagination, tabs, breadcrumb items and the Bulma 0.4 nav family are handled structurally. Registers the source with the telemetry worker's allowlist in the same commit, since the worker drops events for unknown sources at ingest.

…docs corpus The kitchen sink typechecks the migrated app against the workspace bestax-bulma, which is what verifies every target and prop name in the table; leftovers.tsx holds every pattern the codemod refuses to convert and is asserted through its TODO rules instead. validate:corpus:bloomer migrates bloomer's own documentation Scenes at the pinned final SHA (text only, never installed, not in CI): 39 files, 0 crashes, 0 unknown components.

Addressed the first review round in one commit. What changed, thread by thread:

Copilot

PanelIcon reads its classes from its own className — correct, it is bloomer's Icon in panel clothing. The handler now shares Icon's className path; the fixture and the kitchen sink use bloomer's real API (<PanelIcon className="fa fa-book" />). The old child-based branch is gone.
Parsed icons dropped modifier classes — the shared parser now returns features (FA's documented modifiers, MDI's sizes/spin/rotate/flip) and the specials emit bestax's features prop (features="fa-spin", or an array literal for several). A class the parser cannot account for (an app's own) falls back to keeping the <i> child with a TODO rather than losing it. Ported to the rbx and react-bulma-components icon handlers in the same commit (their behaviour changes only where a modifier or an app class was previously dropped). The MDI branch also stopped reading a leading mdi-24px as the icon name.
NavbarItem / DropdownItem default to a <div> in bloomer, an <a> in bestax — both now gain as="div" when they have neither href nor tag.
PanelBlock — bestax's Panel.Block is hard-coded to <a>, so only a block with href becomes one; the rest stay the plain <div class="panel-block"> (or the tag given) bloomer rendered, with is-active/is-wrapped as classes.
Value references of a component whose special keeps its target (const Old = Icon) are now renamed to the bestax binding instead of retained; a target-less special (PageControl, Help, …) used as a value reserves its local before bestax imports are allocated, so the retained specifier can no longer be dropped on a collision. Tests for both.
value-unions now asserts UNIVERSAL_PROPS.hasTextColor.valueTodo against the two unsupported shades, and checks the Message colour restriction separately.

CodeRabbit

Spread attributes ({...rest}) now survive replaceWithPlain and collapseOntoChild, in place — shared, so rbx benefits too.

Declined: adding @allxsmith/bestax-bulma to dependencies when it is already in devDependencies. That is the app's own declaration, and the rbx and react-bulma-components updaters treat it the same way; changing it for one source would diverge the three, and the report would then claim a change the user did not ask for. Happy to revisit for all three sources separately.

Found while re-checking the branch after the round

A value component was merged into an existing import type { … } from '@allxsmith/bestax-bulma', which erases it at runtime. Type-only declarations are now skipped by all three transforms (rbx and react-bulma-components had the same line).
Subtitle without a tag changed heading level: bloomer defaulted it to <h2>, bestax's SubTitle defaults to <h1>. It now gains as="h2" unless a tag says otherwise.
A tag on a Page that folds onto Pagination.Link was riding onto the link with only the generic hint; li is dropped silently (it is what bestax renders) and anything else gets a hint saying why it cannot apply.

Every suite, all three e2e apps and all three corpora are green on the pushed head.

Round two, one commit:

Inline type specifiers (import { type Box } from '@allxsmith/bestax-bulma') — right, the declaration-level check did not cover them. A type-only specifier is no longer counted as an existing value import; when the codemod needs that component it becomes the value specifier (a value import carries the type too), keeping its local name so existing type annotations still resolve, and nothing is duplicated. Same change in all three transforms, with a test.
Icon children — bloomer never rendered them and bestax will, so they are kept (dropping markup would be worse) but now flagged with component:Icon/component:PanelIcon.
Page attributes — bestax's Pagination.Link and Pagination.Ellipsis put their props on the <a>/<span>, so attributes folded off the <li> do change element. They are still moved (nothing lost), and a component:Page TODO names them; a bare key moves silently, since the link is the array member now.

The value-reference pass rewrote any identifier bearing an import's name — object/class member keys, TS signatures, enum members — and spliced a member expression into export { CardHeader }, producing a file that does not parse. My inline-type fix from round two flipped every type specifier on the declaration to a value import. Only a name the codemod actually needs is converted now; type ButtonProps stays a type.
Pruning a fully migrated import dropped its comments (licence headers, eslint directives); they move to the replacement import.
A namespace import used as a plain value (const { Box } = B) and a barrel export { X } from '…' were neither migrated nor flagged; both are flagged now.
rename could write a second size beside one a boolean had just added (<Hero isFullHeight isSize="large">); it refuses with a TODO.

bloomer

Input/Select/TextArea now map onto InputBase/SelectBase/TextAreaBase: bestax's composites wrap themselves in Field and Control, which bloomer's bare elements never did, so a search box in a Control or an input in a table cell grew wrappers.
bloomer's docs write <MenuList><li><MenuLink/></li> and <Breadcrumb><ul>…</ul>; bestax's Menu.Item and Breadcrumb render those elements themselves. The literal <li>/<ul> fold away, carrying attributes; shapes that cannot fold are flagged. The fixtures and kitchen sink now use that canonical markup.
Page folded on .some(child is a link) while the collapse needs exactly one child, so a link inside an expression fell through to a nested <li> with false TODOs; the check is exact now and the unfoldable case is named.
Helpers on parts that extend only React's HTML attributes (Pagination.Previous/Next/Ellipsis, Navbar.Dropdown/DropdownMenu/Divider, Panel.Heading/Tabs/Block, Tabs.List/Item, Message.Header/Body, the Modal parts) are removed with a TODO naming the Bulma class, instead of an unreported type error.
anchorWhenHref applied to every target; bloomer switched to an <a> on href only in seven components. It is limited to those, a dynamic href is flagged rather than guessed as as="a", and an href on a NavbarItem hasDropdown is moved off the container with a hint.
Dropdown.Item declares no href (bloomer's docs use it): flagged, recipe updated. Label honours a literal tag like the other plain elements. Children removed beside an Icon's className are named.
The committed MCP index was stale by four byte counts; regenerated.

Not changed, for the record: Message.Header inside Message renders a second .message-body — that is bulma-ui's own composition (its stories do the same), not a mapping error, and worth its own issue if you agree.

Also picked up the four out-of-diff notes from that review (dc5541e):

prop-map helper guidance — the hasTextColor row now says textColor carries over only on the ~48 targets that declare it and becomes has-text-* on the rest (Tag, Table, Hero, Menu, Breadcrumb, Panel, Icon, Progress, the form controls), and the helperless section names the three components where the class is a TODO instead.
SKILL.md install step — now says to resolve the retained imports before installing, since the manifest step has just removed the package they point at; the report already names them in a deps entry.
rbx title spaced — a dynamic spaced beside an isSpaced already on the element no longer renames onto it (duplicate attribute); it is flagged. Test added.
@allxsmith/bestax-bulma already in devDependencies — still declined, same reason as the earlier thread: it is the app's own declaration, and rbx and react-bulma-components behave identically, so changing it for one source would diverge the three. Happy to do it for all three if you want that.
