Why and what changed

 • Generate one daily E2E/FPM summary and alerts in GitHub Actions, then send through a Slack App bot token to #swdl-dynamo-aisim-daily. Explicitly enable Slack mrkdwn for bold headings, monospaced tables, and named pipeline links.
 • Wait for both scheduled pipelines to finish, with a 09:00 America/Los_Angeles fallback for missing/unfinished runs. Include all evaluated branches and exact pipeline/job links.
 • Keep the parent compact with single-line spacing and percentage-suffixed TPOT/TTFT pairs. Move FPM coverage and comparison notes to the thread; show at most three short alert summaries with full details in the thread.
 • Combine overall and per-framework TPOT/TTFT cells in the main message. Include separate per-model and per-GPU tables in the main message after the E2E summary. Keep FPM coverage and comparison details in its thread. Do not mention users or groups.
 • Compare successful common points against a retained healthy baseline. Alert on MAPE increases of at least 2 percentage points and 10% relative, lost predictions, and pipeline failures; report comparable recovery in a later daily report.
 • Preserve the frozen report before posting. Serialize notifier runs and use Slack message metadata to avoid duplicate parents and resume missing thread replies after interruptions. Do not blindly retry an uncertain POST.
 • Keep optional compressed FPM point evidence beside unchanged Pages artifacts. Old FPM results explicitly report unavailable point comparisons.
 • Default manual runs to dry run. [TEST] sends to the same channel without consuming the production slot or changing its baseline. Automatic sending remains opt-in.

Setup

 • Create a Slack app with Bot Token Scopes chat:write, channels:history, and metadata.message:read; install it and add it to #swdl-dynamo-aisim-daily.
 • Store its xoxb- token in repository secret SLACK_ACCURACY_BOT_TOKEN.
 • Set repository variable SLACK_ACCURACY_CHANNEL_ID=C0BULBSTXJ6. Keep SLACK_ACCURACY_ENABLED=false until a manual mode=test succeeds, then set it to true.
 • GitHub Actions runs the script; no hosted server, Socket Mode, Event Subscriptions, or slash commands are required.
 • The former Workflow Builder webhook and SLACK_ACCURACY_WEBHOOK_URL are not used. Full setup and test commands: docs/accuracy-slack.md.

Review map

 • Risk level: medium.
 • Start with scripts/notify_accuracy.py (producer validation, comparison state, Slack deduplication/delivery) and .github/workflows/accuracy-digest.yml (trigger/secret guards and upload-before-send ordering).
 • scripts/accuracy_digest.py handles reductions/rendering. Optional FPM evidence preserves public evaluator output and Pages schemas.
 • New serialized contracts: comparison, frozen report, and delivery state artifacts. Publisher validation still defaults to main-only; explicit notification previews/tests permit same-repository manual branches.
 • Compatibility and limits: retain report artifacts and Slack messages for deduplication. A timeout can leave delivery incomplete until the next automatic recheck; prolonged Slack/GitHub outages can prevent delivery.
 • Rollback: disable SLACK_ACCURACY_ENABLED. No predictor algorithms or public accuracy data formats change.

Evidence

 • Review follow-up at 20b694b2: 339 focused tests passed, 4 skipped; Ruff, actionlint, and whitespace checks passed. Fixed retry artifact overwrite, branch-scoped baseline downloads, FPM codec fingerprinting, and action version annotation. Added populated-cursor coverage for both Slack pagination loops. Verified real reusable-job names and bot-token public-channel thread reads before declining incompatible suggestions.

 • Main-message grouping update: 34 digest tests passed; the real-data preview now includes both model/GPU tables in the parent (1,403 characters), with two remaining detail replies. No Slack message sent.

 • Compact-format validation at 85bf795d: 34 digest tests passed; the compact summary preview was 804 characters before adding the requested model/GPU sections to the parent. No Slack message sent for this formatting update.

 • Tested implementation: b10cf8ae.

 • uv run --no-project --python 3.13 --with pytest --with numpy --with-requirements scripts/fpm_accuracy/requirements.in python -m pytest -c /dev/null -o cache_dir=/tmp/accuracy-pytest-cache tests/fpm_accuracy tests/test_e2e_accuracy_nightly.py -q: 329 passed, 4 skipped. Git fixture commits ran with signing disabled through environment configuration.

 • After explicitly setting mrkdwn:true, reran tests/fpm_accuracy/test_digest.py: 34 passed, including formatting flags, root deduplication, and partial-thread recovery.

 • Ruff check/format, git diff --check, and actionlint v1.7.7 passed. Strict CODEOWNERS coverage passed for all added paths.

 • Boundary cases: threshold conjunction, exchanged prediction failures, dataset/rule resets, FPM observation order, missing evidence, DST cutoff, producer trust, secret-free dry run, Slack ok:false, ambiguous thread delivery, and artifact pagination with a name filter.

 • Expected values use direct means of successful point absolute percentage errors; FPM aggregates are weighted by predicted counts. Optional-evidence tests assert unchanged public evaluator output.

 • Prior real read-only App-version preview: E2E 36643620072, FPM 36558333115. E2E overall 24.32% / 43.67%, coverage 1135/1137, and all three FPM branches rendered.

 • App live test succeeded: Slack confirmed one TEST parent and three thread replies. The subsequent compact-format change was previewed locally without posting again; automatic delivery remains disabled.

 • Earlier expanded CI/Pages run: 671 passed, 4 skipped, 6 environment failures (Python 3.12 requirement, missing pip-licenses 5.5.5, and Node.js absent from PATH). Unrelated tests were not changed.

 • Fast CI / Full CI: see current PR checks; not claimed as locally completed.

 • CodeRabbit reviewed commit: pending current-head review.

 • Codex reviewed commit: author self-review; independent current-head review pending.

Modeling or data provenance

 • Consume validated summaries and per-point percentage errors bound to the producer snapshot and summary checksum. No predictor or measurement changes.
 • Production selects scheduled campaigns only. Manual run IDs are exclusive to preview/test. Dataset/evaluation-rule changes reset comparison instead of implying recovery.

📝 Summary

Risk: High. The three areas that need the most human attention are Slack delivery and recovery, baseline and regression comparison, and producer-run and artifact validation.

Changed behavior and contracts

 • Adds an opt-in GitHub Actions workflow for daily E2E and FPM accuracy reports. Manual runs default to dry run. [TEST] sends to the report channel without changing the production baseline or consuming the production slot.
 • Adds scheduled-run selection, report generation, baseline comparison, and Slack delivery. Regression alerts cover lost successful predictions and common-point MAPE increases that meet the stated thresholds.
 • Adds optional compressed FPM point evidence in a separate artifact. Public Pages artifacts and evaluator results remain unchanged. score and evaluate_case gain optional parameters. Artifact validators gain allow_manual_branch=False.
 • Persists reports and delivery state to support resuming missing thread replies. Slack API calls are not blindly retried after uncertain outcomes. A timeout can leave delivery incomplete until the next automatic recheck.

Evidence and readiness

The supplied reports state that the focused test command passed 329 tests, with 4 skipped. They also report 34 passed for tests/fpm_accuracy/test_digest.py after setting mrkdwn:true. An expanded run reportedly passed 671 tests, with 4 skipped, and had 6 environment-related failures. Ruff check and format, git diff --check, actionlint v1.7.7, and strict CODEOWNERS coverage reportedly passed. These results were not independently verified.

A read-only App-version preview reportedly rendered E2E and FPM results. The author also reports a successful App live test with one [TEST] parent and three thread replies. A later compact-format preview included both E2E model and GPU tables in the parent and sent no Slack message. Automatic delivery remains disabled. Fast CI and Full CI are not reported as completed.

Current review-finding severity counts are unavailable because no current review findings were supplied. The reported tests and checks provide technical-quality evidence, not approval. Merge readiness remains unconfirmed pending CI and human review of Slack recovery behavior, baseline comparison rules, and artifact validation.

Walkthrough

The pull request adds a daily Accuracy Slack report for E2E and FPM results. It adds comparison evidence, snapshot comparison and report generation, and a workflow for previewing or delivering reports.

Changes

Daily accuracy reporting

Layer / File(s) Summary
FPM comparison evidence
.github/workflows/fpm-accuracy-branch.yml, scripts/fpm_accuracy/*, scripts/run_fpm_accuracy.py, scripts/notify_accuracy.py, tests/fpm_accuracy/test_evaluation.py
FPM evaluation can collect compressed point evidence and observation-order hashes in a separate artifact. The notifier validates this evidence against the summary. Tests check evidence collection and validation.
Snapshot comparison and Slack formatting
scripts/accuracy_digest.py, tests/fpm_accuracy/test_digest.py
The digest builds E2E and FPM snapshots, compares compatible results, reduces metrics, and renders bounded Slack messages. Tests cover comparison thresholds, missing successes, reductions, and message formatting.
Run selection and report state
scripts/notify_accuracy.py, scripts/prepare_e2e_accuracy_pages.py, scripts/prepare_fpm_accuracy_pages.py, tests/fpm_accuracy/test_digest.py
The notifier selects scheduled runs, validates artifacts and producer runs, loads baselines, and builds report and recovery state. Manual dispatch can allow trusted non-main branch runs when explicitly enabled.
Workflow and Slack delivery
.github/workflows/accuracy-digest.yml, scripts/notify_accuracy.py, tests/fpm_accuracy/test_digest.py, docs/accuracy-slack.md, docs/ci.md
The workflow gates report preparation and Slack delivery by mode and repository conditions. The notifier posts Slack messages, resumes existing threads, and persists delivery state after successful delivery. Tests and documentation cover delivery modes and operation.

Full details: Cross-Layer Contract

Explanation

The new cross-layer paths are not fully tested. The PR adds allow_manual_branch to both page validators and forwards it from notify_accuracy.py, but the new test only exercises notify.validate_run; no test calls either changed validate_artifact with allow_manual_branch=True. The PR also adds the --comparison-output CLI output and uploads fpm-accuracy-comparison-<key>/comparison.json, but tests cover only a synthetic archive passed to fpm_points; they do not test producer serialization, workflow artifact wiring, or loading that artifact through load_snapshots.

Resolution

Add contract tests for E2E and FPM validate_artifact that accept same-repository workflow_dispatch non-main runs only with allow_manual_branch=True and reject them by default. Add an integration-style test for run_fpm_accuracy.py --comparison-output that verifies the sidecar schema, snapshot identity, summary checksum, and point keys, then feed the produced archive through notifier loading. Add workflow assertions for the comparison artifact name, path, retention, and notifier discovery. Run the affected publication, evaluation, and digest test suites.

Full details: Review Evidence

Explanation

The description provides relevant commands, results, boundary cases, and separates local previews from the live Slack test and read-only hosted previews. However, it states “Fast CI / Full CI: see current PR checks.” The hosted checks for the PR head include Fast CI, GitHub Pages, and codeowners, but no Full CI run. The changed ci.yml (Full CI) has no pull_request trigger; its nested reusable workflows therefore are not active PR checks. This cites inactive nested workflows as hosted CI evidence.

Resolution

Update the Evidence section to remove Full CI from current PR-check claims, or cite a real Full CI run with its exact commit, trigger, URL, and result. State explicitly that Full CI and its nested reusable workflows were not run for this PR if no such run exists. Keep local, fake-runner/parity, read-only hosted, and production/test evidence in separate labeled entries.

Linked repositories findings

ai-dynamo/dynamo

 • No direct consumers of accuracy_digest, notify_accuracy, or comparison.json were found. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::]
 • Dynamo pins aisimulate==0.13.0.dev202609270000000058 in pyproject.toml:17 and registers AISimulate integration entry points at pyproject.toml:120-129; the PR’s changes do not alter these interfaces. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::]
 • Dynamo’s FPM integration preserves fpm_parquet_path and rejects conflicting nested paths in components/src/dynamo/router/simulation/provider.py:152-162, with coverage in components/src/dynamo/router/tests/test_router_sweep_config_provider.py:297-350. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::]

ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator

 • Aiconfigurator’s frozen accuracy workflow uses a separate CSV-based contract (silicon_result*.csv, comparison_summary.csv) and artifact name accuracy-regression-testing-results; it has no reference to the new digest or comparison.json format. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::]
 • Its comparison implementation requires silicon/prediction columns such as old_predicted_ttft_ms, new_predicted_ttft_ms, and corresponding TPOT fields in tools/accuracy_regression_testing/compare_silicon_predictions.py. This is independent of the PR’s E2E/FPM Slack evidence schema. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::]
 • The repository’s FPM contract defines native benchmark result schema version 2 and result-file conventions in src/aiconfigurator/fpm_contract.py; no changed PR code appears to consume or modify that contract. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::]

Approving with a few minor comments (none blocking). Reviewed through b10cf8a including the switch to the Slack App transport: metadata-based dedup/resume of the root message and thread parts, test vs. production separation, main-only trusted producers, and the 2pp AND 10% regression rule all look right. tests/fpm_accuracy + tests/test_e2e_accuracy_nightly.py pass locally (329 passed, 4 skipped), and also pass when merged together with #346/#349.

Since the App transport hasn't been live-tested yet, please do the mode=test send before flipping SLACK_ACCURACY_ENABLED, as the doc says.

Also worth being aware of: with #346 the E2E dataset now follows the latest InferenceX dump, so the E2E comparison baseline will reset each time a new dump is published (and once when #346 lands, since it changes files covered by the rules fingerprint).

🔀 Multi-repo context ai-dynamo/dynamo, ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator

Linked repositories findings

ai-dynamo/dynamo

 • Repository-wide searches found no references to accuracy_digest, notify_accuracy, comparison.json, or the new accuracy workflows. Dynamo’s only relevant coupling is its AISimulate pin and entry points in pyproject.toml:17,120-129; these are unchanged by the PR. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::]

ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator

 • Its accuracy workflow remains CSV-based, producing silicon_result*.csv and comparison_summary.csv under .github/workflows/accuracy-regression-testing.yml:111-153; it does not consume the new comparison.json artifact. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::]
 • Its native FPM benchmark contract remains schema version 2 in src/aiconfigurator/fpm_contract.py:52-55, with no references to the PR’s new evidence schema. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::]
🔇 Additional comments (8)
scripts/notify_accuracy.py (3)

279-288: Filter initial_baseline downloads to the target branch artifact.

An earlier review raised this, and the code still has the problem. Each initial_baseline(kind, branch, day) call scans up to 90 days of runs. For every run, load_snapshots downloads and validates every branch artifact. For FPM it also downloads every comparison artifact. Only one branch from each run is used. On the first production day, every branch goes through this scan. The work grows with runs × branches². This can exceed timeout-minutes: 30, and then no report is sent. Add a branch filter to load_snapshots that checks the artifact name before any download.

307-307: Confirm the job-name format behind the ) / regex.

An earlier review said caller jobs are named E2E accuracy (<branch>). GitHub names jobs inside a reusable workflow <caller> / <called job>, so the regex \((.+)\) / can match them. The regex fails only if the caller jobs do not call the *-accuracy-branch.yml workflows. To check, compare one real run's jobs[].name values with the regex.

159-159: 🔒 Security & Privacy

The documented Slack credential gates are enforced.

The workflow permits manual dry runs on any branch, but permits test sends only when github.ref is refs/heads/main. It passes SLACK_ACCURACY_BOT_TOKEN only when MODE is not dry-run, and the delivery step has the same mode guard. No token is passed to branch dry runs.

Brings in the FPM decoupling / self-service onboarding stack (ai-dynamo#238, ai-dynamo#248,
ai-dynamo#347), the output adapters (ai-dynamo#334) and the CI changes (ai-dynamo#349, ai-dynamo#351, ai-dynamo#353,
ai-dynamo#354, ai-dynamo#330, ai-dynamo#319).

Conflict resolutions:

- ENGINE_SPEC_SCHEMA_VERSION: upstream claimed 25 for the FPM decoupling
selector; decode CP is renumbered to 26 (positional dcp_size tails on the
 attention / MLA / DSA ops). Stale-payload loops reject 20..25; the 25
payload keeps the selector like the decoupling branch's 21.
- cp_size: upstream added a CP1-only `cp_size` to compile_engine,
 estimate_kv_cache / estimate_num_gpu_blocks, EngineBuildRequest and the
legacy Rust compile path ("this SDK entry point does not support context
parallelism"). This branch supports prefill CP at exactly those entry
points, so the duplicate parameters / struct field are folded into ours,
the CP1 gates become positive-integer validation, and the FPM profile cell
selection receives the real cp_size (a profile without that cell fails
loud with "no matching FPM deployment profile"). Upstream's tests are
 adjusted accordingly.
- FpmCompileConfig / AicTimingConfig parallel-shape checks combine
 upstream's `fpm_profile.is_none()` exemption with the `* cp_size` fold;
 aic_capacity_kwargs gains cp_size / dcp_size; fpm best_available keeps
upstream's registered-architecture check ahead of the DCP mode gate.
- capacity.py worker resolution carries aic_cp_size / aic_dcp_size next to
 aic_fpm_profile / worker_type.
- ParallelismPresetConfig.prefill_context becomes Optional (None = 1), like
decode_context, so default parallelism dumps carry no CP keys; the new
onboarding topology tests (ai-dynamo#248) compare those dumps against the
six-key request parallelism. Consumers read it through compiler._prefill_cp.
