Removed all 600 experimental files added by this PR, including campaign overlays, raw traces, repeated results and report binaries. After inheriting the SOL cleanup, the final diff is 23 files instead of 623, and the current checkout contains no Dataset-dependent checks now use small synthetic fixtures. They exposed a Collector manifest/native-reader mismatch, fixed separately in b8413fa3: analytical KV-layout metadata stays out of measured geometry; precision, dimensions and incompatible stored fields remain strictly checked. All 56 focused tests and actual Fast CI passed on the cleaned code (published head The frozen measurements and reports are preserved. Native/Python predictor source and recorded MAPE are unchanged; the PR body now contains only the current evidence and qualification limits. |
|
Restored the collected SILICON operator databases in 4893182f. My previous cleanup removed required prediction inputs along with the experimental evidence; this corrects that scope. The packaged Validation passed for all 1,796 measured module points and all 69,260 historical GB300 prediction inputs: status, values and errors match, including all 4,965 unavailable cases. The built wheel contains every database file and README; a separate installation passed the same complete checks using its own packaged native extension. Fast CI and CODEOWNERS passed on this head. The PR body now describes the restored databases and validation; the complete MAPE tables and coverage are unchanged. No new GPU measurement or fit was performed. |
|
The SGLang's current official V4.1 guide explicitly says that V4.1 support has not shipped in a release and directs NVIDIA users to the Separately fixed the collector's hardcoded version in d045edd3: it now reads the installed distribution version before GPU work, preserves that value in the real performance writer, and propagates missing package metadata without inventing a version. All 59 Collector tests pass, including three regressions that fail the old writer. Fast CI and CODEOWNERS passed. The database README and PR body now explicitly document the preview-only qualification; all 18 database files, predictor code and reported MAPE remain unchanged. This fixes future version recording, not the open release-qualification requirement. |
|
Changed the SGLang database lookup version to All 18 database files are byte-identical. The new selector reproduces all 1,796 measured module points and all 69,260 historical GB300 prediction inputs, including unchanged missing-data results. The built wheel contains the complete database; a separate installation passes the same checks and rejects the old placeholder selector. Fast CI and CODEOWNERS passed on this head. The PR body and README now use the dev hash; all MAPE tables and coverage remain unchanged. No new GPU run, fit, or ground-truth files were added. |

Focused review of current head 119a9231ec570f72f81731976f92bde42795a97e, stacked on #159 (3be7f146d50466493f328a0a5a9e0b25fc5d14b1). I inspected the exact-geometry table reader/source resolution, collector manifest and row admission, native component instrumentation, workload coordinates, forward-result admission, and packaged profile roots.
No additional independently confirmed PR-specific blocking finding in this quick pass; this is not an approval. The current base still contains the scheduler admission/state-loss, non-MTP target-scale residency, and native full-attention zero-ratio issues documented in my review on #159. Please resolve/rebase those base fixes before treating this stack as ready to merge; I am not duplicating the same inline findings here.
Verification: 19 isolated CPU workload/forward-result tests passed. Native-model-dependent tests were not validated because the local probe environment lacks the SDK/native installation. No native rebuild, GPU execution, or re-admission of archived measurements was performed. Full versus decoder-bounded database roots still need to match the prediction configuration as documented.
|
The latest review identified no independent SILICON blocker. Current head Validation: 142 Collector/model/native tests passed. The rebuilt native reader reproduces all 1,796 module points and all 69,298 forward results/statuses, including unavailable cases; recovered HTTP predictions also match. A fresh wheel preserves all 19 profile files. In an isolated installation both documented profiles load, exact module/forward queries match and both placeholder selectors reject. Fast CI and CODEOWNERS passed on this head. The PR body contains the fresh three-method MAPE tables and source/native identities. Ready for human re-review; no new GPU collection or calibration admission is claimed. |

Re-review of 77885cb93a3cde9934d57193397cc95500e81f6c: verified it inherits the current SOL fixes, and all 19 profile files are byte-identical to my previously reviewed 119a9231 head. The isolated workload/forward-result CPU subset passes 19 tests (10 native-model/coverage cases excluded).
The original three #159 findings have now received scoped fix acknowledgements in their own discussions. I found no new independent SILICON blocker in this follow-up. This remains a comment, not approval: I did not rebuild/run the native predictor or independently requalify the measurements; separate review/Full CI/domain gates remain. The still-open Slurm cancellation race is tracked on #158, not duplicated as a SILICON defect.
|
Follow-up to both initial and latest reviews, on current head The shared-base admission/residency/native guards, new role validation, early V4.1 AFD rejection and current-main integration are inherited. The measured operator databases and separate full/decoder-bounded profile roots are preserved; no raw campaign or ground-truth bundle was added. The development-build selector remains I completed the native validation that was outside the earlier review scope: 1,439 Rust tests (one ignored), 193 targeted Python tests, 383 engine parity cases, and 216 affected integration/contract tests passed. Exact-head Full CI passed. All 1,796 module integrity queries match; all 69,298 archived forward records retain their historical result/status and all 1,820 supported HTTP cohorts retain their metrics. The original unavailable populations and cache disagreements remain disclosed. MAPE is unchanged and the body is updated. This is a request for re-review, not measurement re-admission or an assertion of reviewer approval. B300 additions remain isolated in draft #233. |

from engine.
In `@python/aisimulate/tests/e2e/cli/test_cli_build_default.py`:
- Around line 191-217: Update the subprocess invocation in the default CLI test
to use a timeout shorter than the 180-second pytest limit, then catch
sp.TimeoutExpired and fail while including the exception’s stdout and stderr
diagnostics. Keep the existing command and output capture behavior unchanged,
and do not use a 600-second timeout.
In `@python/aisimulate/tests/unit/collector/test_dsv41_contract.py`:

pytest monkeypatch fixture and remove DSV41_EXECUTION_PROFILE from the
environment with raising disabled before calling get_dsv41_module_test_cases or
building manifests, ensuring the assertion always evaluates all eight cases.
- Around line 29-31: Extend the DSV41 collector tests around
collect_dsv41_module.get_dsv41_module_test_cases with two profile-filter cases:
verify a valid DSV41_EXECUTION_PROFILE returns only cases for the selected
profile, and verify an unsupported profile value raises ValueError. Keep the
existing unfiltered-count assertion unchanged.
In `@python/aisimulate/tests/unit/collector/test_dsv41_forward_results.py`:
- Around line 94-96: Extend the parameterized failure cases in the
forward-results admission tests to tamper with execution-contract.json and
workload-plan.json, covering invalid mode, timing_boundary, warmup, iterations,
required CLI flags, disabled CUDA graph backends, decoder-profile disagreement,
and workload-plan freeze violations. Assert each mutation is rejected by the
admission path, while leaving the existing rank, sample, axis, provenance, and
progress-record cases unchanged.
In `@python/aisimulate/tests/unit/collector/test_dsv41_workloads.py`:
- Line 105: Extend the _lifecycle test harness to accept and forward a
decode_steps parameter, then add a test invoking it with decode_steps=2 that
asserts the complete measured sequence, including successive prefix progression.
Cover the decode_steps=0 boundary as well, preserving the existing default
behavior.
In `@tests/test_epd_cli.py`:
- Around line 103-105: Update the negative estimator-policy test around
_language_execution so the disaggregated case modifies and validates each role
independently, including the decode role, rather than changing only
arguments[0]. Use a separate legacy copy per role, set that role’s
aic_database_mode to SOL, and assert the resulting execution differs from
expected; preserve the aggregated single-role behavior.

donor-only table that must not report ready.
In `@crates/core/src/perfmodel/operators/dsv41.rs`:
- Around line 47-48: The zero-work shortcut in Dsv41AttentionOp must still
invoke the sol validation callback before returning. Replace the early zero
result for batch_size == 0 or x == 0 with the sol path, preserving zero output
for valid configurations while allowing window_size == 0 to return
AicError::ModelConfig; add a regression test through the query path rather than
calling sol() directly.
In `@python/aisimulate/collector/sglang/collect_dsv41_module.py`:
- Around line 252-261: Group the aggregated rows by their kernel_source before
invoking log_perf, collecting each row’s non-kernel_source fields into a list.
Iterate over each source group and call log_perf once with the grouped items and
its kernel_source, preserving the existing metadata and provenance.
In `@python/aisimulate/collector/sglang/dsv41_forward_results.py`:
- Line 161: Update both exception handlers in the forward-results reporting flow
to include TypeError alongside the existing malformed-input exceptions. Apply
this to the outer handler and the fallback handler around
forward_admission_report, preserving their current recovery behavior for invalid
warmup, prefix, and latency values.
In `@python/aisimulate/collector/sglang/dsv41_native_runner.py`:
- Line 262: Update the baseline sweep loop around “for sample in range(2 +
options.iterations)” to use options.warmup for its warmup iterations and
measured-sample condition, ensuring --warmup 0 performs no unrecorded launches
and larger values warm up the native kernels as configured.

The frozen compatibility package has no DSV41/Dsv41 performance filename or operator implementation; this is consistent with the PR being a new AISimulate-only contract rather than a port to the legacy repository. [::ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator::]

DeepseekV4ForCausalLMuses a vocabulary-parallelParallelLMHead. Withtext_config.vocab_size = 129280, its local weight rows are 129280, 64640, 32320, and 16160 for TP1, TP2, TP4, and TP8.collect_native_baselinesrequires(32320, 5120), so only TP4 reaches the hard-coded baseline keys. The proposed replacement is not needed.
Summary
Adds measured operator-based SILICON prediction and SGLang collection for DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash, using strict geometry, runtime and execution-profile matching. The architecture prerequisite #159 is merged; this PR is now based directly on
main(de16c3ab). Missing or incompatible measurements return typed errors. The GB300 TP4 operator databases are retained under
python/aisimulate/src/aisimulate_core/systems/profiles/dsv41/{full,decoder_bounded}/. Selectbackend_version="dev-800cc9adea5b"for V4.1 module/GEMM/MoE and NCCL2.29.7, then explicitly choose the systems root matchingdecoder_replay. The flag does not automatically switch database roots. The development selector derives from the collection image digest; the original image/source identities remain in the sidecars. See the database loading and provenance guide. Both profiles include measured module, GEMM, MoE and NCCL inputs: 848 full-profile module rows, 948 bounded-profile rows, and 32 GEMM / 16 MoE / 32 NCCL rows per profile. All 19 profile files (8 Parquets, their sidecars, hardware configurations and README) remain byte-identical to the previous PR head. Raw experiments and end-to-end ground truth remain outside this PR.
Review fixes — 2026-09-21
Rebased the OP commit and review fixes onto current main, excluding the already merged SOL history. The metadata integration preserves main's external FPM path and speculation fields while applying the effective worker database policy. Addressed the 18 current inline findings and the outside-diff attribution-path finding:
Validation at
d7869f49Fresh native extension build completed. The following checks passed:
The 1,796 measured module self-queries all match their recorded latencies on the freshly built native library. These are database integrity checks, not holdout accuracy. Qualified SGLang EP1 engine blobs are unchanged for TP1/2/4/8 with both decoder profiles. This review repair performs no new GPU collection or accuracy qualification. The MAPE tables below remain historical, tied to their explicitly recorded sources, inputs and coverage limits.
Both exact-head Fast CI runs passed (PR run, trusted-copy run). Full CI on this head is in progress; it is not yet an acceptance result.
Historical accuracy and provenance — 2026-09-16
The tables below were recomputed on 2026-09-16 after the review fixes and main integration, using freshly rebuilt native extensions and the unchanged archived inputs. Every supported timing, metric, failure status and coverage count matches the previous refresh. This was CPU prediction replay: no new GPU collection, fitting, scaling, selective observation removal or calibration admission.

b197223a; finalfa74f5bachanges only a test import blank line, with predictor/native bytes verified identical. FPM's binary was built at9000753f; subsequent changes affect Collector/tests only, with all native/SDK predictor inputs verified unchanged. Original input hashes and new source/native identities are retained with the replay receipts outside these PRs.Fresh coverage audit: SOL retains 81,901 forward records (81,789 actual native calls plus 112 unqualified/unmatched records). SILICON makes 69,298 native calls, including 38 typed GB200 missing-coverage probes. FPM's nine replay jobs reproduce all 81,699 native rows, 18,180 HTTP metric rows, 130 configuration rows and 72 diagnostic rows, including unavailable records. These counts use different export units and must not be summed as independent samples. GB300 HTTP actually replays 1,860 recovered specs per method from 2,100 original cohorts; strict SILICON supports 1,820 and SOL/FPM 1,860. SOL/FPM also rerun all 450 original GB200 HTTP cohorts.
Qualification limits: these TP4 measurements retain their original precision/runtime identities. The historical GB200 126-point FPM table remains unadmitted for reusable serving prediction; replaying it here is a diagnostic, and its approximately 5x discrepancy still needs paired same-input/runtime evidence. GB300 MAPE is development validation, not a blind final test. Missing HTTP inputs, output equivalence, allocation overhead and runtime precision qualifications remain unresolved.
2026-09-16 MAPE tables, coverage and validation populations
GB300 native-forward MAPE
MAPE is
100 × mean(abs(predicted-observed)/observed)over supported pairs; WAPE weights their observed magnitudes. Original interval/cohort counts remain the coverage denominator; unsupported records are retained and excluded from numerical MAPE, never counted as zero error. Shared observed values and geometry were independently joined across methods.ON retains all multiple-prefill representation failures, including the original 100 heterogeneous core cases. Strict SILICON also retains missing measured-op coverage. Different support populations are reported separately; lower aggregate error on fewer supported rows is not an accuracy improvement. Native intervals are correlated, not independent model lifecycles.
GB300 46-point forward validation
Observations are medians of ten repetitions of TP-rank maxima. One coordinate per profile overlaps FPM calibration (B1 prefill, 64 current / 256 past-KV tokens), so this is forward validation, not a newly independent FPM geometry holdout. ON retains 16 representation failures; FPM additionally retains its B2 / past-KV 3840 missing-domain case. No validation point was added to calibration.
GB300 core HTTP, recovered cold subset
Every recovered input closes to its original SILICON ReplaySpec hash before replacing the timing provider. Original token IDs, arrivals, scheduler and topology are retained. OFF has 560/600 complete specifications; ON has 1300/1500. Forty OFF and 100 ON prefix-seed cohorts lack original seed submission times; another 100 ON lack complete request metadata. Forty OFF recovered workloads additionally miss strict SILICON coverage. All four field/service HTTP populations retain 120 observations each and zero fresh predictions because their token-bearing plans remain unavailable. No historical prediction supplies a missing input.
Current SGLang replay emits the first token at final prefill completion. Cache disagreements remain: SOL/FPM each retain 40/560 OFF and 102/1300 ON; SILICON retains 40/520 OFF and 102/1300 ON. Free-output differences are retained. Throughput measures finite-cohort completion, not saturated capacity. Raw GB300 trace re-admission and full HTTP recovery remain incomplete; old lifecycle confidence intervals are not transferred to changed subsets.
GB200 and the second-cluster diagnostic
GB200 FPM uses only the unchanged 126-point GB200 table, never GB300 FPM calibration. Strict op-level SILICON actually ran 38 GB200 probes and preserves all typed missing-OneCCL errors for this overlay; this is not a universal assertion that GB200 lacks measured data. FPM whole-forward mode is not the strict op-level baseline.
The DL diagnostic repeats six existing coordinates with five correlated repetitions. Ten ordinary targets remain unmatched; six warmups per arm remain excluded and separately retained. Five measured output differences remain. Model MAPE is distinct from the earlier 0.8787% benchmark-versus-ordinary observed timing APE. The historical high calibration regime was not reproduced, but unmatched historical prompt tokens and differing driver/kernel/board/autotune evidence prevent attributing it to a cluster or timer cause. No correction factor or new admission was applied.
Calibration and validation separation
FPM uses fixed timing tables: GB200 has 126 points and GB300 has 142 points per Decoder profile (124 original plus 18 extension). Exact self-queries are integrity checks, not accuracy. GB300 calibration and verification observations have disjoint run and dispatch identities, but initial verification coverage gaps informed the extension geometry and the verification population was reused. GB300 MAPE is development-validation evidence, not a blind final-test estimate. Extension selection was by missing geometry, not error magnitude or fastest samples. See the original disclosure.
The GB200 38-point holdout has no exact calibration-coordinate overlap and distinct attempts/artifacts. The DL study instead deliberately repeats calibration coordinates in another environment. Previously checked heldout-target perturbations leave predictions unchanged; no online fit or observed-latency correction is enabled.
