When an app update occurred while there was a subprocess controller with a failed Deno process, the server would crash with an unhandled rejection after 30 seconds with the message "Request REQUEST_ID for method 'setStatus' timed out".
The
sendRequestmethod inDenoRuntimeSubprocessControllerhad a race condition where:ProcessMessenger.send()would throw an errorTo solve this, this PR restructures the
sendRequestmethod to properly handle messenger failures:waitForResponseto return both a promise and an abort function usingAbortControllermessenger.send()call in a try-catch blockWhy do we create the promise before sending the message?
Due to the asynchronous nature of the communication between the Node and Deno processes, it is technically possible for a response to be received very quickly from the Deno subprocess, which could trigger the handler function and dispatch the response event before we started listening for it. By registering a listener before sending an IPC message, we avoid these cases.
