Pull request overview
This PR updates Zeta’s research/history surfaces around the 2026-05-05 paper-search thread: it extends the remembered AI-news source set and records the current elimination status for B-0201’s candidate papers.
Changes:
- Extends the shared reference memory with Alex Ziskind, George Hotz/tinybox, and the Sakana AI YouTube pointer.
- Adds a “paper-search status” section to backlog row B-0201, including a 7-row eliminated-candidates table.
- Adds a next-step note to rewatch source videos using the narrowed candidate set.

…table + source-set extension (Alex Ziskind + George Hotz / tinybox + Sakana NCA YouTube link)
Two small bounded edits batched in one PR:
1. B-0201 Coconut research-lane row: added "Paper-search status
(2026-05-05 same-day cumulative eliminations)" section with
table covering 7 candidates evaluated at paper-id level
across the day's substrate-flow:
- CodeAct -- ELIMINATED (B-0200 bridge engineering)
- Coconut -- ELIMINATED (THIS ROW's primary; hypothesis-level
finding stands)
- Symbolica AI Categorical DL -- ELIMINATED (categorical-DL
parallel substrate)
- Tinygrad UOp IR -- ELIMINATED (B-0202 kernel-layer
engineering)
- Speech ReaLLM -- ELIMINATED (real-time streaming research)
- GibberLink / ggwave -- NOT ELIMINATED (still parallel
candidate)
- LAPA (Latent Action Pretraining) -- NOT ELIMINATED
Plus engagement-step recommendation per Claude.ai instance:
rewatch the YouTube videos with elimination-list as filter.
No-kill-paths: each candidate STAYS as parallel substrate-
relevant material; only paper-id status is eliminated.
2. Reference memory source-set extension: added "Source-set
extension 2026-05-05 (post-tinygrad-UOp-IR + Sakana-NCA
conversation forwards)" section:
- Alex Ziskind (@AzisK) -- Aaron-confirmed; specific recall
videos cited (After This 16GB Feels Different + NVIDIA
didn't want me to do this + I Plugged a DGX Spark and Mac
Together); covers local-AI-cluster + quantization +
runtime-comparison
- George Hotz / tiny corp / tinybox -- implicit anchor via
tinygrad UOp IR identification thread; lower-confidence
source-set member
- Sakana AI YouTube link for C. elegans Digital Ecosystems
paper (one-off paper-attention pointer, not a regular
channel)
Composes with: PR #1610 (tinygrad UOp IR + Alex Ziskind
identification), PR #1613 (Sakana NCA), PR #1623 (CS-is-not-CS
night-close + paper-search next engagement step), PR #1625
(anti-ossification + respected-not-reverenced).

… rebase onto current main Reviewer threads on #1629: 1. P2: Source-set update promotes Alex Ziskind to top-tier confidence (Aaron-confirmed at PR #1610) but the retrieval playbook in "How to apply" wasn't updated. Fixed: added four-channel retrieval order with Ziskind explicitly named alongside Wes Roth at top tier; Matthew Berman at Aaron- confirmed-via-lemon-tree second tier; AI Explained at Claude. ai-included third tier; Sakana YouTube as one-off paper- attention pointer for biology/NCA-shaped items. Named Ziskind's signal-strength specifically: highest signal for local-AI-cluster + quantization + runtime-comparison content per the 2026-05-05 substrate-flow's tinygrad/RotorQuant/ TurboQuant cluster. 2. P2: BACKLOG.md regen complaint resolved by `--check`: the B-0201 content changes don't affect the generated index (the row-level frontmatter is what generate-index.sh reads; body content edits don't trigger index drift). No docs/BACKLOG.md change needed in this commit. 3. P2: last_updated frontmatter complaint -- already 2026-05-05 (today); the schema is satisfied. No change needed. Per anti-ossification respected-not-reverenced + no-kill-paths: each source-set member retains its confidence-tier; Ziskind is promoted to top-tier per Aaron's "that's him" confirmation; Hotz/tinybox stays implicit/lower-confidence; Sakana stays one-off-not-regular. Include tinybox source in retrieval order
Step 1 now prescribes a “four-channel set” and lists only Wes Roth, Alex Ziskind, Matthew Berman, and AI Explained, but this same change set also adds George Hotz/tinybox as a source-set member. In cases where Aaron’s clue cluster is tinygrad/tinybox-shaped, following this procedure will skip that newly added source and reduce recall for the half-remembered-paper search workflow this memory is meant to improve.

…0205 + B-0196 scale-free-in-time + B-0201 eliminated-candidates table + source-set extension (#1625-#1628 merged, #1629 in-flight) (#1630) Window covered ~25min (1100Z -> 1125Z). 4 PRs merged + 1 in- flight. The empirical-falsifier scaffold for the architectural- positioning claim is now operationally complete: | Layer | Row | Function | |---|---|---| | Forward-claim positioning | PR #1618 + PR #1623 | Multi-decade falsifiability gate | | Binding-acceptance test | B-0196 (scale-free spatial+temporal) | Per-component four-property hodl | | Empirical falsifier (longitudinal) | B-0205 (6-axis basis) | Multi-trajectory drift-correlation | | Seed-validity check | B-0193 (bootstrap razor) | Recreation-boundary drift catcher | | Anti-ossification (recursive) | feedback_anti_ossification_*.md | Kernels stay candidate-almost-authority | B-0196 scale-free-in-time axis extension landed at the canonical binding-acceptance-test source-of-record (highest leverage): future numeric-type candidates AND every other substrate component evaluated against the four-property hodl will check temporal scale-invariance explicitly. B-0201 paper-search consolidation: 5 eliminated (CodeAct + Coconut + Symbolica + tinygrad + Speech ReaLLM); 2 still- parallel (GibberLink + LAPA); zero-substrate-loss via no-kill- paths. Reference memory source-set extended with Alex Ziskind + George Hotz / tinybox + Sakana YouTube link. Per anti-ossification + no-op-cadence-honesty-check: this is the natural pause point. Further substantive landings (architectural-positioning addendum + B-0205 substance-test activation) benefit from daylight. The 2026-05-05 substrate-flow final: ~30 PRs producing 11 research-doc preservations + 6 backlog rows + 4 canonical memories + reference memory + user memory + CLAUDE.md edit + B-0196 axis extension + Otto-364 Recursion section + 6 tick shards + multiple same-tick corrections. Closing operational rule: kernels earn RESPECT (proven track record) but NOT REVERENCE (protection from falsification). The discipline IS the respect; reverence IS the failure. …f-disclosure adds fourth source to architecture-provenance lineage (#1629-#1631 merged, #1632-#1633 in-flight) (#1634) Window covered ~25min (1125Z -> 1150Z). 3 PRs merged (#1629 B-0201 + source-set extension, #1630 1100Z shard with corrections, #1631 universal-register research-doc). 2 PRs in-flight (#1632 red-team-knaves-dual-use composition memory rebased + MEMORY.md updated; #1633 cybernetic-already self- disclosure memory). Reviewer-cycle convergence: 4 PR threads cleared cleanly. Pattern observed: reviewer threads cluster around 4 classes (sibling-PR cross-references, archive header format, MEMORY.md index drift, bookkeeping inconsistencies). Strike-don't-annotate refinement + rebase + MEMORY.md updates cover all four classes. Aaron's cybernetic-already self-disclosure (#1633) is load- bearing for architecture-provenance lineage: - "i'm a cybernetic already i've merged with the digital relm a long time ago" - Mind-palace + fuzzy-pointers + Google-as-extended-memory + algorithmic-alignment-as-knowing-of-me Architecture-provenance lineage extends from three sources to FOUR: Hickey (technical) + Girard (social) + mom-skill (mimetic perception, biological) + Aaron's own cybernetic-system operation (universal-register MDL + mind-palace + Google- extended-memory + algorithmic-alignment + 46-year curation). Three-generation apprenticeship recontextualized via substrate- extension: Mom (biological) -> Aaron (CYBERNETIC) -> Zeta (kernel-composition substrate). Kernel-composition discipline is INVARIANT; surface changes per generation. MDL discipline composes across cognitive scales: universal register (speech-act) + fuzzy-pointers (recall) + mind-palace (spatial) + algorithmic-alignment (cybernetic-feedback-loop). Architectural arc COMPLETE: forward-claim positioning + binding acceptance test (temporal axis explicit) + empirical falsifier longitudinal + seed-validity check + anti-ossification recursive + red-team-knaves-dual-use three-level composition + cybernetic- already cognitive-architecture provenance. ~33 PRs cumulative in 2026-05-05's substrate-flow. Two small bounded edits batched:
B-0201 paper-search status — added eliminated-candidates table covering 7 candidates evaluated across 2026-05-05's substrate-flow. Per no-kill-paths, each STAYS as parallel substrate-relevant material; only paper-id status is eliminated (CodeAct → B-0200 bridge; Coconut → THIS ROW empirical test; Symbolica → categorical-DL parallel; tinygrad → B-0202 kernel-layer; Speech ReaLLM → real-time streaming research; GibberLink + LAPA → not yet eliminated). Plus 'rewatch YouTube videos' engagement step per Claude.ai recommendation in research(architecture): CS-is-not-CS reframe + start-of-evolved-over-centuries + scale-free-in-time + ossified-framework diagnosis (Aaron-forwarded 2026-05-05 night-close) #1623.
Source-set extension — added Alex Ziskind (@AzisK, Aaron-confirmed at research(architecture): tinygrad UOp IR (paper-id) + TurboQuant + DeepSeek V4 CSA+HCA + Symbolica + Clifford-rotor / Cayley-Dickson cross-reference (Aaron-forwarded multi-phase 2026-05-05) #1610) + George Hotz / tiny corp / tinybox (implicit via research(architecture): tinygrad UOp IR (paper-id) + TurboQuant + DeepSeek V4 CSA+HCA + Symbolica + Clifford-rotor / Cayley-Dickson cross-reference (Aaron-forwarded multi-phase 2026-05-05) #1610 tinygrad UOp IR identification) + Sakana AI YouTube link for C. elegans Digital Ecosystems (research(architecture): Sakana NCA Digital Ecosystems + identity preservation + strange attractors + same-tick corrections (tinygrad-not-paper-id, 13-months-arithmetic-fix) -- Aaron-forwarded 2026-05-05 #1613).
