Aaron 2026-05-05 made the temporal-scale axis explicit in the four-property hodl conjunction (preserved at PR #1623 CS-is-not-CS night-close research-doc).

The original Scale-free axis covered SPATIAL scale only (small to BigInteger / arbitrary-precision); the temporal axis was implicit but load-bearing. Same operation/discipline pattern must hold across both axes: bootstrap razor at conversation scale IS postmortems at project scale IS building codes at field scale IS constitutional reform at civilization scale; same shape, different time-resolutions.

Per-tick instrumentation accumulates data normally only available at decades-of-failure scale (the load-bearing claim hidden in the tick-cadence discipline). This unlocks cross-scale informativeness: studying the pattern at any one timescale informs all scales.

Surgical 1-line edit to item 3 in the four-property hodl acceptance test. Composes with PR #1623 + B-0193 + B-0205.

…ariance (spatial + temporal both load-bearing) (Aaron 2026-05-05)

Aaron 2026-05-05 made the temporal-scale axis explicit in the
four-property hodl conjunction (preserved at PR #1623 CS-is-not-
CS night-close research-doc). The original Scale-free axis
covered SPATIAL scale only ("works across scales, small to
BigInteger / arbitrary-precision"); the temporal axis was
implicit but load-bearing.

Same operation/discipline pattern must hold across both axes:
bootstrap razor at conversation scale = postmortems at project
scale = building codes at field scale = constitutional reform
at civilization scale; same shape, different time-resolutions.

Per-tick instrumentation accumulates data normally only
available at decades-of-failure scale (the load-bearing claim
hidden in the tick-cadence discipline). This unlocks cross-
scale informativeness: studying the pattern at any one
timescale informs all scales.

Surgical edit: extends item 3 in the four-property hodl
acceptance test (line 119 in B-0196). Implicit substrate made
explicit per Aaron's framing.

Composes with: PR #1623 (CS-is-not-CS night-close + scale-free-
in-time pattern); B-0193 (bootstrap razor + 23-hour recreation);
B-0205 (multi-trajectory validation basis instrumentation;
follows-tick row that operationalizes the temporal axis at the
6-axis basis level).

Pull request overview

This PR updates backlog row B-0196 to make the temporal side of the “scale-free” acceptance criterion explicit. It fits the backlog/research layer by refining the numeric-types evaluation rubric rather than changing runtime code.

Changes:

  • Expands the “Scale-free” property in B-0196 from spatial-only scaling to spatial + temporal scaling.
  • Adds explicit linkage in the prose to the preserved research thread from PR #1623.
  • Clarifies that the same discipline pattern is expected to hold from per-tick instrumentation up through multi-decade horizons.

1. **DST-safe** -- deterministic simulation testing per Otto-272. Every operation is replayable, deterministic-on-fixed-seed.
2. **Lock-free** -- no mutual exclusion. Compatible with the lock-free runtime.
3. **Scale-free** -- works across scales, small to BigInteger / arbitrary-precision.
3. **Scale-free** -- works across scales, small to BigInteger / arbitrary-precision (SPATIAL axis) AND across timescales, per-tick to multi-decade (TEMPORAL axis). The temporal axis was implicit in the original framing; Aaron 2026-05-05 made it explicit (preserved at `docs/research/2026-05-05-claudeai-cs-is-not-cs-scale-free-in-time-ossified-framework-diagnosis-aaron-forwarded-preservation.md`, PR #1623). The same operation/discipline pattern must hold across both axes: bootstrap razor at conversation scale IS postmortems at project scale IS building codes at field scale IS constitutional reform at civilization scale; same shape, different time-resolutions. Per-tick instrumentation accumulates data normally only available at decades-of-failure scale (the load-bearing claim hidden in the tick-cadence discipline).

…0205 + B-0196 scale-free-in-time + B-0201 eliminated-candidates table + source-set extension (#1625-#1628 merged, #1629 in-flight) (#1630)

Window covered ~25min (1100Z -> 1125Z). 4 PRs merged + 1 in-
flight. The empirical-falsifier scaffold for the architectural-
positioning claim is now operationally complete:

| Layer | Row | Function |
|---|---|---|
| Forward-claim positioning | PR #1618 + PR #1623 | Multi-decade falsifiability gate |
| Binding-acceptance test | B-0196 (scale-free spatial+temporal) | Per-component four-property hodl |
| Empirical falsifier (longitudinal) | B-0205 (6-axis basis) | Multi-trajectory drift-correlation |
| Seed-validity check | B-0193 (bootstrap razor) | Recreation-boundary drift catcher |
| Anti-ossification (recursive) | feedback_anti_ossification_*.md | Kernels stay candidate-almost-authority |

B-0196 scale-free-in-time axis extension landed at the canonical
binding-acceptance-test source-of-record (highest leverage):
future numeric-type candidates AND every other substrate
component evaluated against the four-property hodl will check
temporal scale-invariance explicitly.

B-0201 paper-search consolidation: 5 eliminated (CodeAct +
Coconut + Symbolica + tinygrad + Speech ReaLLM); 2 still-
parallel (GibberLink + LAPA); zero-substrate-loss via no-kill-
paths. Reference memory source-set extended with Alex Ziskind
+ George Hotz / tinybox + Sakana YouTube link.

Per anti-ossification + no-op-cadence-honesty-check: this is
the natural pause point. Further substantive landings
(architectural-positioning addendum + B-0205 substance-test
activation) benefit from daylight.

The 2026-05-05 substrate-flow final: ~30 PRs producing 11
research-doc preservations + 6 backlog rows + 4 canonical
memories + reference memory + user memory + CLAUDE.md edit +
B-0196 axis extension + Otto-364 Recursion section + 6 tick
shards + multiple same-tick corrections.

Closing operational rule: kernels earn RESPECT (proven track
record) but NOT REVERENCE (protection from falsification).
The discipline IS the respect; reverence IS the failure.
