What changed

  • Query the pull request or merge request associated with the active task branch through the task's execution device.
  • Use GitHub CLI (gh) for GitHub workspaces and GitLab CLI (glab) for GitLab workspaces.
  • Show request number, title, open/draft/closed/merged state, and check status in the Wework environment panel.
  • Add Settings → Git hosting with local gh / glab installation and authentication detection, installation guidance, and copyable login commands.
  • Add a persisted Show PR / MR status switch. Disabling it prevents provider CLI lookup commands while preserving the create PR/MR action.
  • Link unavailable, unauthenticated, and failed lookup hints directly to Git hosting settings.
  • Refresh the full environment state after push and commit-and-push.
  • Document the single-machine behavior, CLI requirements, and switch in Chinese and English.

Why

Wework previously generated a create-PR/MR URL but did not resolve the current branch back to an existing change request. A local task therefore could not show whether its PR/MR was open, merged, or passing checks, even when the repository and provider CLI were already available on the execution device.

The lookup now follows the same device-command boundary as the rest of the local Git workflow: Wework requests a registered command, while gh or glab executes inside the actual workspace on the selected executor. A single-machine setup does not require a separate cloud Git integration. Users can inspect local CLI readiness and explicitly turn status lookup off without removing the create-request workflow.

Wework reads CLI status only and does not store GitHub or GitLab access tokens.

User impact

  • Existing PR/MR status is visible directly in the environment panel.
  • Selecting the status opens the provider page.
  • Missing CLI/authentication does not block creating a PR/MR and now links to a dedicated configuration page.
  • Local gh and glab readiness is visible in settings.
  • PR/MR lookup can be disabled with a persisted switch.
  • Status is refreshed after pushing changes and when the environment panel is reopened.

Validation

  • pnpm --filter wework test src/api/gitHostingCli.test.ts src/components/settings/GitHostingSettingsPage.test.tsx src/api/environment.test.ts src/tauri/appPreferences.test.ts src/components/layout/EnvironmentInfoPopover.test.tsx src/components/settings/ConnectionsSettingsPage.test.tsx src/components/settings/MobileSettingsPage.test.tsx — 121 tests passed.
  • pnpm --dir wework typecheck — passed.
  • cd backend && uv run pytest tests/services/test_local_device_command_service.py -q — 73 tests passed.
  • cargo test --manifest-path wework/src-tauri/Cargo.toml defaults_missing_change_request_status_preference_to_enabled --lib — passed.
  • cargo check --manifest-path wework/src-tauri/Cargo.toml — passed.
  • cargo check --manifest-path executor/Cargo.toml — passed.
  • pnpm --filter wework e2e:desktop -- --segment change-request-status — passed after merging the latest main; covers pending checks, successful checks, missing CLI fallback, settings navigation, switch off/on persistence, and recovery to merged.
  • Isolated real-Tauri ai:verify — detected local GitHub CLI as ready, GitLab CLI as missing, persisted the status switch from true to false, and produced verified 2560×1440 screenshots.
  • AI_VERIFIED=1 git push pre-push gate — Frontend and Wework lint/type/unit tests, Backend formatting/syntax/settings checks, Executor fmt/tests/clippy, and Alembic multi-head check all passed.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features

    • View GitHub pull request and GitLab merge request status, checks, titles, and browser links for the current branch.
    • Added Git Hosting settings to check CLI installation and authentication, refresh status, and copy login commands.
    • Added a preference to enable or disable change-request status lookups.
    • Status refreshes automatically after pushing changes.
  • Documentation

    • Added English and Simplified Chinese guidance for configuring Git hosting and troubleshooting unavailable status information.

Warning

Review limit reached

@qdaxb, you've reached your PR review limit, so we couldn't start this review.

Next review available in: 18 minutes

You've used all free OSS reviews for now. Wait for the free limit to reset to keep reviewing this public repository.

How can I continue?

After more reviews become available, a review can be triggered using the @coderabbitai review command as a PR comment. Alternatively, push new commits to this PR.

To avoid repeated limits, reduce automatic review volume by pausing incremental auto-reviews earlier, using label-based review opt-in, excluding WIP or generated PR titles, or requesting reviews manually when the PR is ready. If your team needs uninterrupted high-volume reviews, an organization admin can enable usage-based reviews.

How do review limits work?

CodeRabbit enforces per-developer PR review limits for each organization. Most developers receive the normal plan review availability.

For paid Pro and Pro+ PR reviews, CodeRabbit uses adaptive limits for sustained high-volume activity. When a developer's recent PR review activity reaches the 95th percentile or higher among CodeRabbit users, additional reviews become available more gradually as earlier reviews age out of the rolling window.

Please refer docs for additional details.

1611-1623: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Supply the branch argument for both commands.

The relay forwards params["args"] unchanged, and the executor only appends supplied arguments. It does not derive the active branch. These commands fail when invoked without a branch value after --head or --source-branch.
