…le parameters BaseKVCacheMethod.process_weights_after_loading and CompressedTensorsKVCacheMethod.process_weights_after_loading copy k_scale, v_scale, q_scale, and prob_scale into layer._*_scale buffers (and *_float / *_cpu attributes). When a sharded checkpoint omits the transient nn.Parameter scale/zero-point attributes or saves per-head (ATTN_HEAD) _*_scale buffer shapes, reloading with load_format="sharded_state" fails in ShardedStateLoader.load_weights or leaves host-side scale copies out of sync. Fix this by: 1. Resizing mismatched buffer shapes (such as ATTN_HEAD per-head _*_scale buffers) and dropping missing transient KV-cache scale/zero_point parameter placeholders in ShardedStateLoader.load_weights when their saved _*_scale buffer counterparts are present. 2. Syncing derived _*_scale_float and _*_scale_cpu attributes from loaded _*_scale buffers in BaseKVCacheMethod.process_weights_after_loading and CompressedTensorsKVCacheMethod.process_weights_after_loading when weights are pre-processed or transient scale parameters were omitted. Fixes #62156.
Every
Attentionlayer createsk_scale,v_scale,q_scale,prob_scale(andk_zero_point/v_zero_pointinCompressedTensorsKVCacheMethod) asnn.Parameters increate_weights. Duringprocess_weights_after_loading,BaseKVCacheMethodandCompressedTensorsKVCacheMethodcopy positive scales into the registered buffers_k_scale,_v_scale,_q_scale,_prob_scale(plus_*_scale_floatand_*_scale_cpu) anddelattrthe originalnn.Parameterattributes.When
save_sharded_statesavesmodel.state_dict(), the shard files contain the post-processing buffer keys (...attn._k_scale, etc.) rather than the parameter keys (...attn.k_scale, etc.). Reloading withload_format="sharded_state"then fails inShardedStateLoader.load_weightswithValueError: Missing keys ['...attn.q_scale', '...attn.k_scale', '...attn.v_scale', '...attn.prob_scale'].This PR:
