What does this PR do?

remove the legacy megatron path and make mbridge the only path.
Now we use megatron via vanilla mbridge or advanced megatron-bridge, by the option vanilla_mbridge to choose.

Checklist Before Starting

Test

For changes that can not be tested by CI (e.g., algorithm implementation, new model support), validate by experiment(s) and show results like training curve plots, evaluation results, etc.

API and Usage Example

Demonstrate how the API changes if any, and provide usage example(s) if possible.

# Add code snippet or script demonstrating how to use this

Design & Code Changes

remove tons of legacy codes.

Code Review

This pull request is a significant refactoring that removes the legacy Megatron model path, making mbridge the only supported path. This involves deleting a large number of files related to the old implementation and removing the use_mbridge configuration option from various scripts and configuration files. The changes are extensive and align with the goal of simplifying the codebase. My review found one critical issue: a typo in an import statement that will cause a runtime error. Other than that, the refactoring appears consistent and well-executed.

Maybe we want to keep this option so that old commands won't throw errors

thanks for making megatron code clean and such a significant change. I am wondering whether we will have plan for more end2end testing to avoid some potential feature break.
