The new engine, Lattice, is here! 💎💎💎
Lattice is so much more maintainable than the mess of the previous engine. The entire thing is built on an ECS, so new features can be isolated yet composable with the existing features, really happy with how its turned out even if it took longer than expected. Performance should also be great and have a high ceiling, with it being easy to write multi-threaded code using the ECS (eventually, right now everything runs on a single thread :P).
With this is also a complete overhaul of the studio. Rather than having an isolated world editor with a similar workflow to say Unity, there is now a "build mode" built right into the app. Edit your world in real time with others! This is still heavily WIP (not very function atm), but over the next few days / weeks it should get a lot more features, just want to get this update out asap as the deployed app is pretty out of date with the new state of things.
There are also a bunch of UI updates, and updates to the underlying Wired Protocol.
This has been a long time in the making, lots of foundational work done with the new engine, but now that were here things should start ramping up. 🫡
