Saving items
Items can be saved ("to chest" formerly, most people still call it like that) if you want to get your hand on them faster at later time. You can save your spawned lists, interesting utilities you found elsewhere (dice trays, gizmo-like--tools-objects) or just fun fluff (swords, lamps, figurines, lit up cigarettes to attach to avatars, rigged dice, cards with... asian girls, a nice set of Jigsaw and more, check the workshop page). Where were we?
There's no limit on saved objects so feel free to abuse it as long as you can handle what's what later.
- Right click an object or select (hold and drag) multiple and right-click any one.
- Click "Save Object".
- Choose a folder.
- Folders can't be created from here, check "Accessing and organizing your chest" below.
- Write a name for the new entry.
- Click "Save".
- Click Objects from top menu.
- Click Saved Objects.
- Create folders and drag stray entries onto them to move things in.
- Once you have a lot of things saved, chest likes to spaz out when moving in folders. Reopen it if that happens.
- You can't have folders in folders, organize with that in mind.
- If this feels clunky, navigate to Documents/MyGames/TabletopSimulator/Saves/Chest and do it from explorer.
- You can't rename in-game. Go to the directory listed above and rename files if needed badly.
Simply drag the entry onto the table somewhere. Preferably spacey somewhere. DO NOT JUST CLICK AN ENTRY. It will spawn in the middle which is horrible with our table and rains stuff on someone elses game usually.
Be civil, don't load tons of unnecessary stuff (especially if it's heavy assets) without asking first, others have to wait for it to load and keep it in RAM too.
