The Speaker Company is now defunct, but was an internet-only sales experiment between 2007–2010 by Marantz.

2016-02 - Currently auditioning a pair of used (Craigslist) B&W DM220 speakers for L & R. Might be some bad caps, though, since I've heard some crackle.

Calibration

  • Audyssey MultEQ - see p.26 of the Denon AVR-1909 manual for official directions.
  • Make sure to sample at all 6 locations. Best results seemed to be from:
    • tripod on center Barcalounger,
    • left Barcalounger,
    • right Barcalounger,
    • right-center on rear riser (at a position behind the armrest between center and right Barcaloungers),
    • left-center rear riser (behind the center-left armrest), and
    • tripod on the floor in front of center Barcalounger.
  • After calibrating, make sure that Audyssey Dynamic Volume and Audyssey Dynamic EQ are disabled.
  • Audyssey 101 FAQ has a lot of useful information to understand the calibration process.
