Closes #

What I did

Restrtucture Vue docgen to make it more understandable.

  • preset moves from framework to being exposed by the renderer
  • docgen and story-snippet now only have exposed files. Internals moves into sub dir.

Walkthrough

The PR reorganizes Vue docgen modules, adds component metadata and resolution utilities, exposes an internal docgen package entry, and expands tests and fixtures for API descriptions, named types, story documentation, and source generation.

Changes

Vue docgen packaging and renderer wiring

Layer / File(s) Summary
Internal docgen entry and renderer integration
code/renderers/vue3/..., code/lib/docgen-harness/src/vue3/*, code/frameworks/vue3-vite/src/*
The renderer now builds and exports @storybook/vue3/internal/docgen. Harness tests import docgen APIs from this entry. Preset and worker imports follow the reorganized module paths.
Component analysis and metadata projects
code/renderers/vue3/src/docgen/component-docgen/...
Vue metadata projects track files and compiler state. Component resolution follows Vue imports and barrel re-exports. API descriptions and named types support bounded documentation output.
Component fixtures and resolver coverage
code/renderers/vue3/src/docgen/component-docgen/__testfixtures__/*
Fixtures cover Vue props, events, slots, aliases, barrel exports, JSDoc precedence, missing components, null components, and TypeScript project references.
Story documentation classification and rendering
code/renderers/vue3/src/docgen/shared/*, code/renderers/vue3/src/docgen/story-docs/*
Shared value classification utilities support inline, hoisted, omitted, unset, and unrepresentable values. Tests cover argument resolution, unresolved spreads, slot rendering, source generation, and function analysis.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to e9912

The docgen changes can still produce incorrect or stale documentation, while the added tests do not follow the required mock-isolation pattern. These localized issues should be fixed before merging.

25-25: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Remove the complete update: prefix.

Line 25 uses 'update:'.length - 1. It therefore compares :modelValue with modelValue.

The generated output keeps each model update event in the Events section. This contradicts the Models guidance and the test title.

Use event.name.slice('update:'.length). Then remove the update events from the snapshot at api-description.test.ts Lines 177-179.

Quote property names that are not identifiers.

property.getName() can return names such as icon-left. The current output renders icon-left: string, which is not valid TypeScript-like member syntax.

Refresh the checker on the first tracked access.

The checker can already contain normalized when this map has no entry. If the file changed after the checker loaded it, this branch records the new mtime without updating the stale checker text.

The next extraction sees the same mtime and continues to return stale component metadata. Read and update the file before recording its first mtime, or initialize the mtime when the checker snapshot is created.

Proposed fix
       const previous = this.mtimes.get(normalized);
       if (previous === undefined) {
- // First sighting: the checker reads the file itself on first access, so the snapshot is

Reject unresolved computed object-pattern keys.

collectPatternNames ignores property.key when property.computed is true. For ({ [key]: value }) => value, it returns true although key is a free reference. isSelfContainedFunction then accepts a callback that the generated snippet cannot resolve.

Check computed keys with isResolvable(property.key, into). Add this case to classify-value.test.ts.

Proposed fix
     case 'ObjectPattern':
       return pattern.properties.every((property) =>
         property.type === 'RestElement'
           ? collectPatternNames(property.argument, into)
-          : collectPatternNames(property.value, into)
+          : (!property.computed || isResolvable(property.key, into)) &&
+            collectPatternNames(property.value, into)

Add Vitest spy mocks for sourceDecorator.ts dependencies.

This test imports sourceDecorator.ts, which depends on storybook/internal/docs-tools, storybook/preview-api, and vue. Add top-level vi.mock(..., { spy: true }) declarations, then configure the required behavior through vi.mocked(...) inside beforeEach.
