Priority: ➖ Normal — Schedule the mobile accessibility change because it improves keyboard focus, tab order, and visible focus indicators across the about overlay and upgrade controls. Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The new upgrade-command copy control may lose its accessible name after copying and may not handle unavailable clipboard access gracefully. These are bounded accessibility and interaction risks in the upgrade panel. ✨ Finishing Touches 💡 1🛠️ Fix failing CI checks 💡

The about/settings overlay opened from the mobile menu drawer covers the sidebar but stayed inside the drawer's focus scope, so tabbing kept cycling through the obscured sidebar underneath. Wrap the overlay content in its own FocusScope (contain + autoFocus + restoreFocus), which react-aria nests inside the drawer's scope: Tab stays within the overlay, and closing it returns focus to the button that opened it. The overlay's rows and package-manager tabs were hand-rolled elements with `all: unset`, which strips the focus outline entirely. Rebuild the Github/Documentation rows on ActionList, the npm/yarn/pnpm tabs on ToggleButton, and give the Link component's anchor form the same focus-visible outline its button form already had. Tabbing also skipped every other element: the built manager carries two copies of @react-aria/focus (one inside the components bundle for Modal, one in the manager chunk), and focus scopes from separate copies cannot nest, so both scopes advanced focus on each Tab press. Re-export FocusScope from storybook/internal/components so manager code shares the Modal's instance, and assert every stop of the Tab cycle in the story. They are tabs semantically — mutually exclusive, each driving the code block below — so compose the DS TabList and TabPanel via useTabsState instead of a row of toggle buttons. This restores the underline tab look, adds tablist/tab/tabpanel semantics with arrow-key navigation and a single Tab stop, and drops the local selection state. A panel without focusable content is itself the tab stop, so give TabPanel a focus-visible outline. Gives the code block a one-click copy affordance, using the shared useCopyButton hook. It also means every tab panel in the about overlay has focusable content, so the panel itself is never the tab stop and no longer needs a focus style of its own. What I did
Three keyboard-accessibility fixes for the about/settings overlay opened from the cog button in the mobile menu drawer:
1. Focus trap. The overlay covers the sidebar visually, but stayed inside the drawer's focus scope: Tab kept cycling through the obscured sidebar underneath. The overlay content is now wrapped in its own react-aria
FocusScope(contain+autoFocus+restoreFocus), nested inside the drawer modal's scope: opening moves focus to the Back button, Tab cycles only through the overlay, and closing returns focus to the cog button.2. Focus indicators. The Github/Documentation rows and the npm/yarn/pnpm package-manager tabs were hand-rolled
styled.a/styled.buttonelements withall: unset, which strips the focus outline entirely, and the DSLinkanchor form had no focus-visible outline either — it was impossible to see what was focused. They now use design-system components:ActionList(ActionList.Link), same as the desktop cog menu;TabList/TabPanel(viauseTabsState): realtablist/tab/tabpanelsemantics with arrow-key navigation and a single Tab stop, the DS tab focus ring, and the underline-tab look — the old tabs conveyed the selection through border color alone and each was a separate Tab stop;useCopyButtonhook), which is both a usability win and gives each tab panel focusable content, so react-aria never has to make the bare panel a tab stop;Linkcomponent's anchor form gets the same:focus-visibleoutline its button form already had (this benefits everyLinkin the UI).3. Tab order skipped every other element. The built manager carries two copies of
@react-aria/focus: one inside thestorybook/internal/componentsbundle (used byModal) and one bundled into the manager chunk (used by the overlay's direct import). Focus scopes from separate module copies cannot nest — each copy has its own scope tree and active-scope state — so bothcontainscopes advanced focus on every Tab press, stepping by two and skipping alternate elements.FocusScopeis now re-exported fromstorybook/internal/componentsand the manager imports it from there, so both scopes come from the same instance and nest correctly. (manager/globals/exports.tsis regenerated accordingly.)Checklist for Contributors
Testing
The changes in this PR are covered in the following automated tests:
AboutFocusTrappedinMobileNavigation.stories.tsxasserts every stop of the Tab cycle in order — including arrow-key navigation within the tablist — so escaping the overlay, skipping an element, or broken tab semantics fail the test; run via the Storybook Vitest project)Note: the Vitest browser environment builds everything from source with a single
@react-aria/focuscopy, so the double-stepping only manifests against the built manager — verify it manually per below.Manual testing
