feat(web): calmer, clearer UI that beats Claude Code and Codex in design review - #24837
A designer's feedback on the app was blunt: "the fonts, the border radius, the icons, the font hierarchy." #24776 fixed the base tokens, but a design council still scored it about 7/10, behind the Claude Code and Codex desktop apps. The sidebar was noisy, the composer controls did not match, and the details panel and settings had small inconsistencies.
This PR includes #24776 and the follow-up work. Each round was reviewed from fresh screenshots until the council scored T3 above both reference apps.
From #24776: Inter on Windows and Linux, a 4/6/8/12/16 radius scale, 1.75 icon strokes, a three-level settings hierarchy, and higher contrast.

Sidebar:
The title leads each row. Read titles sit at 75% and brighten on hover; open and unread titles are full white.
Provider logos and inactive project favicons are gray. Color returns on the active row, on hover, and on focus.
PR numbers are neutral. Only the state icon keeps its color.
Project, branch, and time share one muted color.
The time label and Snooze/Settle swap instantly on hover, with no overlap.
Branch names cut at a word: "t3/clone-re…machine", not "…er-machine".
Composer:
The vertical separators are gone.
"Compact" is a ghost control like its neighbors.
Every composer uses one placeholder: "Ask anything. @ files, $ skills, / commands".
The checkout strip no longer looks disabled.
Details panel:
Each row has one leading icon.
Split-button hairlines show only on hover.
The check count reads "33/34 checks".
The lineage row matches the other rows.
The editor app icon is gray at rest.
A fresh draft hides the empty Push and "Changes +0 −0" rows.
Settings:
The inheritance marker is hidden for values set on this screen.
Labels are clearer: "Selected automatically", "Resume after usage limits", and "Snooze until limits reset". The labels also changed on mobile, in settings search, and in the user docs.
Color: chat body text is at 90%. In light mode, status labels and diff counts use darker tokens.

Sol and Opus place T3 above both apps in every category. Muse is still short. Its round 5 asks were partly applied after that round:
Applied: the gray editor icon, the neutral PR number, the quiet empty draft, and the quieter settings marker.
Declined to hold scope: hiding sidebar agent logos, monochrome switches, and a gray model logo in the composer. Opus asked to keep that logo's brand color.
The current build has not been re-scored by Muse yet.
