Problem

CodeRabbit currently requests changes on pull requests from authors outside the owner, member, and collaborator groups. Its feedback should arrive as review comments for every author.

Change

Set reviews.request_changes_workflow to false and update the comment that described the old behavior. Automatic reviews and the existing author approval and reviewer override restrictions remain configured as before.

Scope and approval

Requested by the maintainer in this T3 Code thread. This changes the existing CodeRabbit review verdict setting and stays within repository review configuration.

Verification

  • vp lint .coderabbit.config.ts passed.
  • vp fmt --check .coderabbit.config.ts passed.
  • node_modules/.bin/tsc --noEmit --module nodenext --target es2022 --strict --skipLibCheck .coderabbit.config.ts passed.
  • git diff --check passed.

CodeRabbit's hosted review behavior has not been exercised. Its documented request-changes setting is disabled for all authors.

Model: gpt-6.1-sol. Harness: Codex through T3 Code.

Approvability

Verdict: Approved at d7d6b88

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a narrowly scoped CodeRabbit workflow configuration fix: reviews remain enabled, while automatic change requests are disabled. It does not alter the application, production deployment, product defaults, or static-analysis diagnostics.
