The request that takes the pooled socket gets its answer now that uSockets retries the parked write when a renegotiation ends, so the test is no longer a todo. The Node peer exits when its stdin closes. The test runner does not kill the processes of a concurrent test that times out, so a failed run left the peer and the client running.

WalkthroughThe peer fixture exits when its stdin reaches EOF. The TLS renegotiation test pipes stdin to the peer and activates a test that checks a request during renegotiation. ChangesTLS renegotiation test

Run the renegotiation cases outside describe.concurrent.
When a concurrent test times out, the runner does not kill dangling processes. The helper remains pending, so await using peer does not dispose it and peer.stdin stays open. The fixture therefore does not receive end, and its servers keep the Node peer alive.
Move these cases to a non-concurrent group so the runner can perform timeout cleanup.

LGTM, small test-only change that un-todos a test the base already makes pass.
What was reviewed:
- Confirmed the two uSockets gates the PR relies on (writable dispatch on any non-pending state, renegotiation finish retrying the parked write) are present in packages/bun-usockets/src/crypto/openssl.c on the base, so the un-todo'd test exercises code already on main.
- Checked the
await-secondbranch of the client fixture: it prints exactly the four lines the newtoEqualasserts, and the client spawn already pipes stderr, soexpect(stderr).toBe("")can fail. - The
stdin: "pipe"+process.stdin.on("end", ...)lifetime pattern matches existing fixtures (serve-http2-lifecycle, fetch-http3-cold-post-fixture);await using peerstill kills the peer on the normal path, so the stdin hook only matters for the timed-out-concurrent-test case.
Extended reasoning...
The diff touches only test/js/web/fetch/fetch.tls.test.ts and the Node peer fixture: it converts an it.todo into it.skipIf(!nodeExe()), adds a stderr assertion mirroring the sibling test, and makes the peer exit when its stdin pipe closes. No src/ or runtime code changes, no security-sensitive surface. The sibling test already runs the same peer with the same skip guard on all platforms, and no CODEOWNERS entry covers these files, so the remaining risk is limited to a possible platform-specific flake that CI will surface directly.

fetch.tls.test.tskeeps "a request that reuses a pooled socket mid-renegotiation gets its answer" asit.todo. Its comment says uSockets does not retry the request's write when the renegotiation ends.bun test --todoon main reportsthis test is marked as todo but passes. fetchkeeps idle connections in a pool. A TLS 1.2 server can start a renegotiation, a second handshake, on an idle connection.SSL_writereturnsWANT_READ. uSockets parks the write and owes the owner a writable event when the handshake ends.todo, because the request then waited until its timeout.Notes
What changed in uSockets. Two gates in
packages/bun-usockets/src/crypto/openssl.c, both in 6c1eb06 (#44618):ssl_on_writabledispatches the writable event whenssl_handshake_state != HANDSHAKE_PENDING. Before, it neededHANDSHAKE_COMPLETED, which a renegotiation leaves.ssl_report_finished_handshakereports a handshake that ended with no application data for a renegotiation too, and then retries the parked write. Before, only the first handshake got that report. The parent commit 71d0d43 has the old gates. That comes from the code. I did not build the parent.
Trace on main. Debug build, lldb breakpoints, the client fixture in

The relay holds the ClientHello.us_internal_ssl_writevgetsWANT_READand parks the write.ssl_retry_parked_writedispatches a writable event in state 2. The write getsWANT_READand parks again.ssl_trigger_handshake(success=1)sets state 1,ssl_retry_parked_writedispatches the writable event, the request leaves, and the client printssecond ok.The timeout path.
kill_dangling_processes_on_timeout(src/runtime/test_runner/Execution.rs) kills the spawned processes only when the concurrent group has one sequence. On 1.4.3 with the old fixture, the peer and the client were still running with parent pid 1 afterbun testexited, and a shell pipeline that read the runner's output did not end. With this change both are gone within 0.5 s of the runner's exit, 4 of 4 runs. The peer sees the end of stdin, and the client's connections close with the peer.Other local results, linux x64.
