… Node Node reads both options by index. argv goes through Array.prototype.map. execArgv goes through a Get(i) loop in node_worker.cc, and only when the native v8::Value::IsArray() check passes, which a Proxy does not. Bun used the iterator protocol for both and walked a Proxy for execArgv, so: - a custom Symbol.iterator on the array replaced its elements, - an array with a null prototype threw a bare TypeError, - a Proxy passed as execArgv was walked instead of skipped. With a length trap that lies, the walk ran for as long as the reported length said (16e6 took 6.6s, 2**32 - 1 never returned), because every element coerces to a string and nothing could stop it. Use forEachInArrayLike for both options. For execArgv, downcast to a JSArray after validateArray first. A Proxy fails the downcast and the worker inherits the parent's execArgv, as in Node. #7962 had this gate. #18758 replaced it with validateArray to get Node's ERR_INVALID_ARG_TYPE and the iterator walk after it accepted a Proxy from then on.

LGTM — the earlier note on the argv test is addressed (events.once rejects on "error").
Checked the appendStrings lambda's exception discipline: inner ThrowScope with RETURN_IF_EXCEPTION after toLength/getIndex/coercion, outer throwScope re-checked after each call site. asObject(argvValue) is safe post-validateArray (isArray implies object); dynamicDowncast<JSC::JSArray>(JSValue) matches the pattern used across src/jsc/bindings/. The fixture's switch from JSON.parse to new Function keeps the four pre-existing rows valid (all are JS expressions). Re-entrancy looks fine — no raw pointers held across the user-JS calls, and the lying-length Proxy DoS on execArgv is closed by the downcast gate.
Extended reasoning...
Overview
The PR replaces forEachInIterable with an index-based walk (toLength + getIndex) for options.argv and options.execArgv in the node:worker_threads Worker constructor binding, and additionally gates execArgv behind a dynamicDowncast<JSC::JSArray> so a Proxy-of-Array falls through to inheriting the parent's flags — matching Node's Array.prototype.map (argv) and native v8::Value::IsArray() + indexed loop (execArgv). Tests cover Proxy, custom Symbol.iterator, null-prototype arrays, and Array subclasses for both options. The fixture now evaluates its argument as a JS expression to express those cases.
Security risks
None introduced. The change actually closes a mild DoS: previously a Proxy with a lying length trap could make the constructor walk billions of elements; the JSArray downcast now short-circuits that for execArgv. argv still follows a Proxy (as Node's map does), but that's unchanged behavior and matches the reference. The fixture's new Function(...) evaluates a string that comes from the test suite itself, not user input.
Level of scrutiny
Moderate — native C++ touching JSC exception discipline and re-entrant user-JS calls. I verified: each fallible call in the lambda (toLength, getIndex, coerceToIsolatedString) has a RETURN_IF_EXCEPTION on the inner scope; both call sites re-check the outer throwScope after the lambda returns; asObject is guarded by validateArray; the dynamicDowncast<JSC::JSArray>(JSValue) overload is used identically in ~10 other files under src/jsc/bindings/. No raw pointers are held across the user-observable calls, so a getter/trap that mutates the array mid-walk cannot cause UAF — at worst it changes which strings are read, which is Node-equivalent.
Other factors
My one prior inline comment (wire error to reject in the argv test) was addressed in commit 001b317 by switching to events.once, which auto-rejects on "error". The github-actions bot inline comments appear addressed by ca12c95 (comment shortening) and 34506ba (per-element exception checks). No outstanding CHANGES_REQUESTED reviews. Exit reason was dry_streak. The change is small, well-reasoned against Node source behavior, and the test matrix (Proxy / iterator / null-proto / subclass, for both options) is thorough.

Node converts each execArgv element with ToString, which throws on a Symbol. argv keeps the String(value) behaviour, which describes one. Split the option test matrices into one case per row.

Extended reasoning...
Overview
The PR changes how new Worker(url, { argv, execArgv }) reads its two array options in the C++ JSC binding (JSWorker.cpp), replacing forEachInIterable (iterator protocol) with an index walk (toLength + getIndex) to match Node.js semantics. execArgv additionally gates on dynamicDowncast<JSArray> so a Proxy — accepted by validateArray's spec IsArray but rejected by Node's native v8::Value::IsArray() — falls through to inheriting the parent's execArgv. Symbol handling diverges per option: argv describes (Node's map(String)), execArgv throws (Node's ToString). The fixture now evaluates its argument as a JS expression so tests can pass Proxies/subclasses/custom-iterator arrays, and eight new test cases cover the matrix.
Security risks
None. The fixture's new Function(...) runs only over strings the test file itself passes on the command line — not user input. The change actually reduces a mild DoS surface: a Proxy with a lying length trap on execArgv is no longer walked at all.
Level of scrutiny
Moderate. This is C++ JSC-bindings code with exception discipline requirements, but the change is ~30 net lines, follows an established pattern (getIndex + RETURN_IF_EXCEPTION loop, identical to process.execve in BunProcess.cpp), and is a targeted Node-compat fix. Every throwing call (toLength, getIndex, toWTFString) is followed by RETURN_IF_EXCEPTION inside the lambda's own throw scope, and the outer throwScope is re-checked after the lambda returns. asObject(argvValue) is safe because validateArray has already established it passes spec IsArray, which implies it is an object.
Other factors
This is my seventh look at this PR. My earlier inline concern — the argv test awaited only "message" with no error path — has been addressed: the test now uses events.once(worker, "message"), which rejects on "error", and once is already imported at line 3. No CHANGES_REQUESTED reviews are outstanding; the remaining self-resolved bot threads (github-actions autofix, coderabbitai at JSWorker.cpp:317) were followed by commits and the current diff shows the code in a shape consistent with those being addressed. Tests use it.concurrent.each/test.concurrent.each per convention, cover Proxy/null-prototype/subclass/custom-iterator for both options plus the Symbol-throws case, and the PR description records that stock Bun fails six of the eight new cases.
Problem
new Worker(url, { argv, execArgv })reads both options through the iterator protocol (src/jsc/bindings/webcore/JSWorker.cpp:315,:330). Node reads them by index:argvwithArray.prototype.map,execArgvwith aGet(i)loop innode_worker.cc. So in Bun a customSymbol.iteratorreplaces the elements, and a null-prototype array throws a bareTypeError.execArgv, Bun walks a Proxy.Bun::V::validateArrayusesJSC::isArray(), which accepts a Proxy of an Array. Node's nativev8::Value::IsArray()rejects it, so Node skips the option and the worker inherits the parent'sexecArgv.lengthtrap lies: the constructor runs for as long as the reported length says (16e6 takes 6.6s,2**32 - 1never returns). Every element coerces to a string, so nothing stops the walk.Fix
