What does this PR do?

Builtin JS modules (node:*, internal streams, etc.) read runtime-provided globals — MessagePort, Blob, URL, crypto, process, … — off the mutable globalThis, so user code that replaced or deleted one before a builtin loaded could break or hijack it. happy-dom's GlobalRegistrator replaces MessagePort, which made new Worker() from node:worker_threads throw port.on is not a function on 1.4 (#40268). #40271 fixed that one module by passing the four constructors through its native binding; this generalizes it and removes that plumbing.

Node's lib/ takes these from internalBinding() and derives the globals from them, so a replaced global never reaches its internals. This does the same for every such global at once instead of per module:

  • The builtin bundler now rewrites every global in ZigGlobalObject.lut.txt whose value is a runtime-created object (all constructors, process, crypto, navigator, performance, Bun) to the private @Name, the way it already did for a hand-picked list of stream classes.
  • Zig::GlobalObject::getOwnPropertySlot resolves a private @Name miss to the same static-table entry globalThis.Name was initialized from and reifies it under the private name, so steady-state access is a plain property load. The per-name custom getters previously installed at startup for the old list are removed.
  • worker_threads, worker messaging, node:crypto, node:inspector stop reading globalThis.* explicitly.

Build-system: BunBuiltinNames+extras.h becomes a declared codegen output and codegen headers become implicit PCH inputs, so a regenerated header rebuilds the PCH in the same run rather than one build later.

Out of scope: function-valued globals (setTimeout, fetch, queueMicrotask) and ECMAScript builtins are unchanged.

How did you verify your code works?

  • test/regression/issue/40268.test.ts and the new globals.test.js case (replaces/deletes MessagePort, MessageChannel, Worker, Blob, URL, Event, Headers, TextDecoder, AbortController, crypto, then drives worker_threads, http, stream/consumers, node:crypto) fail on 1.4.0 and pass on the debug build.
  • bun bd -e repro matches node -e output.
  • worker_threads.test.ts (137), streams.test.js, abort, node-stream, bunshell-instance, node-crypto pass locally.

… not globalThis

Builtin JS modules read constructors like MessagePort, Blob, URL and objects
like crypto from the mutable global, so user code that replaced or deleted
one before a builtin loaded (happy-dom's GlobalRegistrator does) could break
or hijack it. `new Worker()` from node:worker_threads threw "port.on is not
a function" once globalThis.MessagePort was replaced (#40268).

Node's lib/ takes these from internalBinding() and derives the globals from
them, so a replaced global never reaches its internals. Do the same:

- The builtin bundler rewrites every global in ZigGlobalObject.lut.txt whose
  value is a runtime-created object (constructors, process, crypto, ...) to
  @name, the way it already did for a hand-picked list of stream classes.
- Zig::GlobalObject::getOwnPropertySlot resolves a private @name that misses
  to the same static-table entry globalThis.Name was initialized from and
  reifies it under the private name, so steady-state access is a direct
  property load. This replaces the per-name custom getters that were
  installed at startup for the old list.
- worker_threads, worker messaging, node:crypto and node:inspector stop
  reading globalThis.* explicitly.

Build: BunBuiltinNames+extras.h is now a declared codegen output and codegen
headers are implicit (not order-only) PCH inputs, so a regenerated header
rebuilds the PCH in the same run instead of one build later.

The PR derives intrinsic globals from runtime metadata, preserves intrinsic markers during bundling, resolves private builtin properties through the global object, updates builtin modules to use direct bindings, and adds build dependency and regression-test coverage.

Intrinsic global handling

Layer / File(s) Summary
Generated input tracking
scripts/build/...
Code generation tracks generated headers and lookup data as inputs. Ninja include paths and PCH dependency documentation now match generated output paths and invalidation behavior.
Runtime intrinsic lookup

Spell -I dirs under buildDir relative so depfile entries for generated

codegen outputs go back to order-only so a JS-only edit doesn't rebuild it.

Also drop the last `if (PerformanceEntry)` guard in perf_hooks.

I reviewed this PR and didn't find any bugs; all four findings from my earlier passes have been addressed. Because this introduces a new getOwnPropertySlot override on Zig::GlobalObject (on the property-lookup path for every global access) and reworks how builtin intrinsic globals are resolved, a maintainer look at the C++ side and the __no_intrinsic__ removal would still be worthwhile.

Checked this pass: the extends PerformanceObserver in perf_hooks.ts now bundles to extends @PerformanceObserver (previously bypassed via __no_intrinsic__) and resolves through the new fallback — coherent with the design. The getOwnPropertySlot fallback is gated behind Base::getOwnPropertySlot hit + isPrivateName(), so user-code lookups don't reach the table scan. The build-system fix in 01db4ce (relative -I dirs so the PCH depfile names declared codegen nodes) replaces the earlier over-broad implicit-input approach and keeps codegen order-only.

Extended reasoning...

Overview

This PR makes builtin JS modules (src/js/**) resolve runtime-created globals (MessagePort, URL, crypto, process, all constructors in ZigGlobalObject.lut.txt) via private @Name intrinsics instead of the mutable globalThis, so user code that replaces or deletes a global before a builtin loads cannot break or hijack it (fixes #40268, the happy-dom MessagePort case). It touches 23 files across four layers: codegen (replacements.ts derives intrinsicGlobals from the lut.txt; bundle-functions.ts seeds additionalPrivateNames with them; the __no_intrinsic__ extends-bypass is removed), C++ bindings (ZigGlobalObject.cpp gains a getOwnPropertySlot override that reifies a private-name miss from bunGlobalObjectTable; the 13 per-name putDirectCustomAccessor calls and X_getter half of WEBCORE_GENERATED_CONSTRUCTOR_GETTER are removed), builtin JS modules (worker_threads, url, http, perf_hooks, crypto, inspector, ffi, ProcessObjectInternals, worker messaging drop their globalThis destructuring), and the build system (BunBuiltinNames+extras.h becomes a declared codegen output; codegen.ts adds the lut.txt and BunBuiltinNames.h as inputs; bun.ts spells buildDir-relative -I dirs so the PCH depfile names declared codegen nodes). Tests: a new fixture that replaces/deletes ~15 globals then drives worker_threads/http/perf_hooks/url/crypto/streams, a regression test for #40268, and process.test.js updated to assert the new (Node-matching) behavior after process = null.

Security risks

The change is security-adjacent — it improves tamper resistance by removing a path where user code could hijack builtins via global replacement. I don't see a new attack surface: the getOwnPropertySlot fallback only fires on private-name misses (unreachable from user JS), and it reads from the immutable bunGlobalObjectTable. The intrinsicGlobals filter matches only CellProperty|ClassStructure and PropertyCallback entries whose value ends in ConstructorCallback, so function-valued globals (fetch, setTimeout) are correctly excluded. No injection, auth, or data-exposure surface is touched.

Level of scrutiny

High. Zig::GlobalObject::getOwnPropertySlot sits on the property-lookup path for the global object; while the new code is gated behind Base::getOwnPropertySlot returning false and isPrivateName() returning true (so user-code lookups short-circuit before the table scan), any subtlety in the reification path (reifyStaticProperty under DeferTerminationForAWhile, the exceptionForInspection check without a ThrowScope, the getDirectOffset/setValue sequence) is worth a maintainer's eye. The removal of the __no_intrinsic__ mechanism means extends X in builtins now bundles to extends @X — this is intentional (previously a tamper-resistance hole) and works because the new fallback resolves @X, but it's an architectural change to how builtin classes inherit.

Other factors

All four of my earlier findings across two review passes were addressed: the three sibling const {…} = globalThis sites in url/http/perf_hooks (plus bun:ffi's globalThis.Bun) were removed with fixture assertions added; process.test.js was updated; the PCH-rebuild over-invalidation was fixed by reverting to order-only + relative -I dirs so the depfile edge works; the dead if (PerformanceEntry) guard at PerformanceNodeTiming was removed. Test coverage is good — the fixture exercises replaced constructors, deleted globals (which reify the whole static table), and a replaced crypto object across six modules. CI is building on the latest commit. Given the scope (new C++ method-table override, codegen mechanism change, cross-cutting builtin edits) this exceeds the "simple/mechanical" bar for auto-approval.

I reviewed this PR across three passes; the four earlier findings (missed globalThis destructuring in url/http/perf_hooks, the process.test.js regression, the PCH over-invalidation, and the dead PerformanceEntry guard) are all addressed in the current diff and no new issues surfaced. Given the scope — a new getOwnPropertySlot override on Zig::GlobalObject, a codegen rewrite that now touches every bare runtime-global reference in src/js/**, and the build-system depfile-path fix — a maintainer look is still warranted before merge.

Checked: the __no_intrinsic__ guard removal leaves no dangling references, and extends PerformanceObserver (now rewritten to extends @PerformanceObserver) resolves via the new slot override; no remaining const { … } = globalThis sites in src/js/; the relative -I rewrite in bun.ts correctly scopes to buildDir-rooted paths only.

Extended reasoning...

Overview

This PR generalizes builtin-module tamper-resistance: instead of a hand-picked list of stream classes plus per-module native plumbing (#40271), every runtime-created global in ZigGlobalObject.lut.txt (constructors, process, crypto, Bun, performance, …) is now rewritten to @Name in bundled builtin JS, and a new Zig::GlobalObject::getOwnPropertySlot override reifies private-name misses from the same static table entry globalThis.Name was initialized from. The per-name putDirectCustomAccessor calls in addBuiltinGlobals and the __no_intrinsic__ extends-guard are removed. 23 files across codegen, JSC bindings, ~8 builtin JS modules, build-system dependency tracking, and tests.

Security risks

This is security-adjacent — it strengthens tamper-resistance so user code replacing globalThis.MessagePort/URL/crypto cannot hijack node:* internals. The change fails safe (private-name resolution falls back to the immutable static table). No new attack surface identified; the getOwnPropertySlot override only fires on private-name misses, which are unreachable from user code.

Level of scrutiny

High. getOwnPropertySlot on the global object is on the property-lookup path; the codegen rewrite silently changes the meaning of every bare process/Buffer/URL reference across all of src/js/**; and the build-system change (relative -I for buildDir-rooted includes so depfile entries match declared codegen output nodes) affects incremental-build correctness for every developer. Each of these is the kind of change where a subtle mistake surfaces far from the diff.

Other factors

All four findings from my earlier passes were addressed with targeted fixes and the author explained each. The bug-hunting system found nothing new on the current HEAD. Test coverage is good (the new fixture exercises worker_threads, http, stream/consumers, node:crypto, url, perf_hooks after replacing/deleting a dozen globals; the process.test.js case was updated to assert the new correct behavior). The removal of the extends __no_intrinsic__ guard is intentional — extends @Name now resolves via the new slot override — and perf_hooks.ts's extends PerformanceObserver exercises it. That said, the breadth (every builtin module's global references change semantics) and the hot-path C++ addition put this outside what I'd auto-approve; a maintainer sign-off on the getOwnPropertySlot approach and the depfile-path build fix is appropriate.

This also fixes #43268. The restringer sandbox bootstrap captures process.stdin, then deletes globalThis.process, then calls readline.createInterface({ input: stdin }). On current main that throws from internal/streams/readable, because resume() reads process.nextTick off the global object:

TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating 'state')
      at resume (internal:streams/readable:586:47)
      at InterfaceConstructor (internal:readline/interface:93:13)

Minimal repro (works in Node, throws in Bun):

const readline = require("node:readline");
const stdin = process.stdin, stdout = process.stdout;
delete globalThis.process;
readline.createInterface({ input: stdin }).on("line", l => stdout.write("got: " + l + "\n"));

With this PR the process references in builtin modules become @process, which covers that path. The branch is 604 commits behind main and has 4 conflicts (scripts/build/bun.ts, scripts/build/codegen.ts, src/js/node/url.ts, src/jsc/bindings/webcore/Worker.cpp).
