OSAC-4008: Consume centralized design/prd template guidance via osac-ai-skills fan-out

Jira: https://redhat.atlassian.net/browse/OSAC-4008
Story type: [DEV]

Summary

Removes osac-workspace's independently-maintained copies of .design/templates/section-guidance.md and .prd/templates/section-guidance.md, replacing them with symlinks materialized by tools/link-agent-skills.sh from the new canonical copies in osac-ai-skills. Both files had real, independent edit history (e.g. OSAC-3573, OSAC-3059) — this eliminates a live drift risk, not a hypothetical one.

Changes

  • .design/templates/section-guidance.md, .prd/templates/section-guidance.md — real content removed; now vendored symlinks
  • tools/test/link-agent-skills-consumer-smoke.sh — extended seed_vendor() and test_shared_rules_agents_design_context with 4 new symlink/readability assertions for the two files
  • .gitignore — added entries for the newly-symlinked files
  • AGENTS.md — Template Overrides section updated to describe the new vendoring

Testing

  • Unit tests: N/A (shell/markdown)
  • Integration tests: Extended tools/test/link-agent-skills-consumer-smoke.sh, run end-to-end in a worktree against the real companion osac-ai-skills PR's vendor mechanism — all assertions pass, including a byte-for-byte diff of the removed content against the canonical copies
  • Coverage: Same two-sided (materialize + verify) coverage as every existing materialize_shared_dir bucket

Acceptance Criteria

  • AC-2 (consumer side — completes the pairing with the companion osac-ai-skills PR)

Related PRs

This ticket spans 3 repos and produces 4 PRs total. This PR depends on osac-project/osac-ai-skills#8 and must merge in the same window as it, not merely after it — that PR's new unconditional fan-out calls will otherwise hard-fail bootstrap.sh for any osac-workspace user in the gap between the two merges (a defensive safe_symlink fix on that PR narrows but does not fully close the gap for .design/templates/section-guidance.md, whose content differs from this repo's copy by one line). Please coordinate merge timing with that PR.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation

    • Updated contributor guidance to document shared design and PRD template sources and symlink workflows.
    • Removed outdated local section-guidance documents for design and product requirements.
  • Chores

    • Updated ignore rules for shared template guidance files.
  • Tests

    • Expanded smoke-test coverage to validate design and PRD template links, canonical files, and detection of stale links.

…ai-skills fan-out

Removes osac-workspace's independently-edited duplicate copies of
.design/templates/section-guidance.md and .prd/templates/
section-guidance.md (both had real, frequently-updated commit history —
a live drift risk, not just hypothetical). tools/link-agent-skills.sh's
existing materialize_shared_dir fan-out now provides these as per-file
symlinks into the vendored osac-ai-skills copy, the same mechanism
already proven for .design/context/*.md since OSAC-4006.

Extends tools/test/link-agent-skills-consumer-smoke.sh's seed_vendor()
and test_shared_rules_agents_design_context to cover the two new
buckets. Fixes AGENTS.md's Template Overrides section, which still
described the design section-guidance file as "stays local" after this
change made it a vendored symlink.

- AGENTS.md: give the new PRD section-guidance bullet the same
  hand-synced-with-upstream-template clause the design section-guidance
bullet already has -- both are equally coupled to their respective
  ai-workflows templates.
- tools/test/link-agent-skills-consumer-smoke.sh: extend
test_verify_rejects_removed_canonical_file to also cover the two new
  OSAC-4008 buckets (.design/templates, .prd/templates), not just the
pre-existing .claude/rules bucket it was written against. Closes a
gap versus this ticket's own stated Coverage Goals, which promised
"--verify catches a broken/missing canonical source" for both new
  buckets.

Walkthrough

Design and PRD section-guidance files were removed from the workspace and documented as vendored files. Ignore rules and smoke tests now cover their symlinks and canonical-source verification.

Changes

Template guidance materialization

Layer / File(s) Summary
Vendored template materialization
.gitignore, AGENTS.md, tools/test/link-agent-skills-consumer-smoke.sh
Design and PRD section guidance is documented as vendored from osac-ai-skills. Ignore rules, fixtures, and symlink assertions cover both template paths.
Canonical source verification
tools/test/link-agent-skills-consumer-smoke.sh
Verification now checks missing canonical files in rules, design templates, and PRD templates, and rejects stale symlinks.Estimated code review effort: 2 (Simple)

test_verify_rejects_removed_canonical_file's loop removed each bucket's
canonical file but never restored it, so a later iteration's --verify
failure could be caused by an earlier iteration's still-missing file
instead of proving that specific bucket's own removal independently.
Restore all canonical files via seed_vendor (and re-assert --verify
passes again) between iterations so each of the three buckets (rules,
design templates, prd templates) is verified in isolation.
