How it works

auto-update-helper.sh already calls:

"$skill_update_script" check --auto-update --quiet >>"$LOG_FILE" 2>&1

With this change, callers can instead use:

"$skill_update_script" check --auto-update --quiet --non-interactive

The --non-interactive flag makes the script self-contained for headless use:

  • No stdout/stderr output (all goes to log file directly)
  • No interactive prompts (stdin closed for sub-processes)
  • Graceful error handling (ERR trap logs and exits 0)

Testing

  • ShellCheck: zero violations (shellcheck -x -S warning)
  • Syntax: bash -n .agents/scripts/skill-update-helper.sh passes
