Changelog

Added a Coderouter section directly below My Devices in the Cloud right sidebar, with an account management entry point and usage context.

Summary

The Cloud tree now exposes Coderouter as a first-class sidebar section. The section is account-scoped, uses the same section header and hover affordances as Cloud Machines and My Devices, and keeps account credentials out of row state.

Summary by cubic

Adds a CodeRouter section to the Cloud right sidebar below My Devices, listing the selected team's coding agent accounts with adding, removing, and usage status.

  • Accounts load from the coderouter CLI (accounts --json) by trusting the payload's own teamId, switching the CLI org only when it differs; a single 5-second refresh loop owns the reads, and the header's refresh icon restarts it instead of racing it.
  • The sidebar runs the same CodeRouter CLI as cmux cr (app-bundled core, then PATH, then the installer's bin) and strips CMUX_* from its environment.
  • Accounts are grouped by the server's provider names (e.g. opencode-go), and each addable type (Codex, Claude, OpenCode Go) gets its own New Account row that submits the CLI add command to the focused terminal tab or opens a new local terminal. Adding requires a confirmed team.
  • Account rows show rate-limit usage left or a non-active state; the email truncates while usage stays whole, and unlabeled accounts read as their type plus the masked key suffix (e.g. "Claude …JF1g"). Hover and context-menu removal run coderouter remove <id> --yes after a destructive confirmation, then refresh.
  • The section header shows a count, refresh icon, code icon, and a "?" that opens a guide popover covering the sidebar and basic cr commands. Failures are logged and the last successful snapshot is kept; the empty devices message is now "No devices yet."

Written for commit 910abb3. Summary will update on new commits.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The cloud tree now includes a CodeRouter section with account, empty-state, and add-account rows. The Machines panel refreshes account data, offers provider choices, checks for a confirmed team ID, and runs a provider-specific command in a focused or newly created terminal.

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to ea8fe

Account rows can briefly show the previous team’s accounts after a team switch. The reported terminal setup problems and untranslated Cloud text also remain to be addressed before merging.

Security Architecture Review

Security architecture risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to ea8fe

Account information can remain associated with a previous team after a switch or failed refresh. Setup also submits commands to the focused terminal without ensuring it is local. Provider choices are restricted, credentials are excluded from sidebar rows, and existing authentication controls remain in place.

Retained concerns

  • Medium · security · inferred: The new account snapshot has no requesting identity or team owner. Team changes do not clear it synchronously, refresh failures retain it, and successful completions publish without revalidating scope or cancellation. Consequently, previous-team metadata can be presented under a new scope; late completion also creates a possible cross-account presentation path. This does not confer account mutation authority.
  • Medium · security · inferred: The new setup action submits a command and carriage return to whichever terminal owns focus before considering local terminal creation. The resolver supports remote panes, so the action is not bound to a local setup environment or the sidebar's account context. Credential intake and executable selection can therefore depend on that terminal's environment. Remote credential disclosure is not established, but the destination and authority ambiguity is introduced by this new handoff.
Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The demonstrated presentation risk is confined to account metadata in the desktop session. Setup can additionally reach the focused terminal, including a remote-pane target. Successful downstream credential mutation still depends on the selected CLI's execution and authorization; no privilege escalation or backend-wide exposure is established.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — A successful snapshot for team A survives a switch to team B when B's refresh fails. An older request can also publish without a current-scope check. Once presentation gates permit the tree, the unscoped array is rendered as current account rows. Server-provided labels and providers reach display, but do not reach command construction.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The existing Claude upload path enforces managed Cloud and AI credential-upload policies at the socket boundary and obtains app authentication through its client. External CodeRouter setup instead intentionally receives no app-authentication handoff. These controls counter a direct app-credential leak or newly demonstrated upload-policy bypass.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Missing team/client clears the account array, signed-out presentation hides the tree, and pending team changes show a loading gate. These controls reduce exposure but do not revalidate an awaited result or clear a previous snapshot when a new-scope request fails. A later successful refresh replaces the snapshot.

Hardening Proposals

  • proposed — Bind account snapshots and refresh generations to both identity and confirmed team, invalidate them on scope transitions, and permit publication only while that ownership remains current. Bind setup to a dedicated local terminal or require explicit selection of its execution environment.

Full details: Cmux Swift Blocking Runtime

Explanation

The diff adds production polling in Sources/Cloud/MachinesPanelView.swift. The .task(id: accountFlow?.confirmedTeamID) loop calls refreshCoderouterAccounts() and then sleeps for five seconds with ContinuousClock().sleep(for: .seconds(5)). The Swift blocking-runtime rules classify production polling and sleep-based synchronization as failures. This is not test scaffolding or a UI animation delay.

Resolution

Replace the repeating five-second task with an event-driven account refresh, such as a change signal, callback, notification, or async sequence from the accounts service. Refresh immediately when the confirmed team changes, and cancel the observation when the view task ends. Do not use a recurring sleep or polling loop.

Full details: Cmux Swift Concurrency

Explanation

The diff adds an unowned Task { @MainActor in ... } in MachinesPanelView.openCoderouterCLI (lines 555–569). When no terminal is focused, this task calls the cmux-owned async throws API TerminalController.surfaceNewTerminal, creates a terminal, and reports failures, but it is not stored, cancelled, or tied to an owning task. Terminal creation has a meaningful lifecycle, so this matches the rule for fire-and-forget tasks. The added polling loop uses SwiftUI .task(id:) and is view-lifecycle-managed. The diff does not add the other listed legacy patterns.

Full details: Cmux Swift Package Boundaries

Explanation

The diff keeps independently testable CodeRouter logic in the app target. Sources/Cloud/MachinesPanelView.swift adds a parser for the account response fields (id, kind/provider, label, and state) and provider-specific CLI command construction, including team-ID shell quoting. These are data-format and provider rules, not SwiftUI or terminal-launch glue. The existing CmuxCloud package owns AIAccountsClient, whose list method returns untyped JSONValue records, so the new app-side parsing sits directly at a package API boundary. The SwiftPM package has a test target, while the changed files add no package-level extraction. The sidebar rows and terminal dispatch can remain in the app.

Resolution

Move the account-record parsing and pure provider-command construction into a small SwiftPM target such as CmuxCodeRouterCore. Expose a value type such as CoderouterAccountRecord that parses the account JSON and a command builder that selects the provider command and safely quotes the team ID. Keep the SwiftUI chooser, polling schedule, tree wiring, and terminal creation or input dispatch in the app target.

Full details: Cmux User-Facing Error Privacy

Explanation

The new account flow sends a team ID and provider-specific CLI arguments to the end user's terminal. In Sources/Cloud/MachinesPanelView.swift, the Claude chooser calls openCoderouterCLI(provider: "claude") (lines 142–153), which builds cmux coderouter claude add oauth-token --team &lt;confirmedTeamID&gt; (lines 532–548) and submits it to the focused terminal with panel.sendInput(command + "\r") (lines 550–552). This is a direct app-to-terminal user path. The ID comes from the active confirmed team, not an exact ID supplied by the user in the request. The command exposes a team ID and provider-specific flags, which the rule prohibits in user-facing command output. The new terminal path also runs the same command through sh -lc (lines 555–565). The caught terminal-creation error is not the basis for this finding; MachinesCloudStatus renders a generic recovery message for untrusted errors (lines 46–62).

Resolution

Remove the confirmed team ID and provider-specific flags from commands injected into user-visible terminals. Use the CLI's active-team context or a non-user-visible mechanism to supply team scope, and avoid exposing provider-specific command details in terminal output. Keep failure feedback generic and provider-neutral.

Full details: Cmux Full Internationalization

Explanation

The PR adds user-facing Swift text without complete catalog localization. CloudTreeNode.swift and the row views add the cloudTree.group.coderouter, coderouter.empty, and coderouter.addAccount keys, but none appears in Resources/Localizable.xcstrings. MachinesPanelView.swift adds chooser copy and the “Select a team before adding a coding agent account.” hint; these strings have no matching catalog entries, and the hint is passed directly to noteTreeHint. The diff also changes the devices.empty.title default to “No devices yet,” but its catalog entry still says “No other Macs yet” in English and retains the old copy in its existing translations. The changed-file inventory contains no catalog updates. Resources/Localizable.xcstrings has entries for 20 locale codes: ar, bs, da, de, en, es, fr, it, ja, km, ko, nb, pl, pt-BR, ru, th, tr, uk, zh-Hans, and zh-Hant.

Resolution

Route the new chooser strings and team-selection hint through stable localization keys or equivalent localized APIs, and add matching translated entries to Resources/Localizable.xcstrings for every supported locale. Add translated catalog entries for the three new CodeRouter keys. Update the devices.empty.title catalog values so they match “No devices yet” across all supported locales.

Full details: Cmux Architecture Rethink

Explanation

The diff adds a five-second polling loop in MachinesPanelView (.task at lines 132–140) and stores each result in view-owned @State (coderouterAccounts, line 28). The loop calls AIAccountsClient.list and retains the last result on errors (lines 503–515). The new terminal flow sends an interactive CodeRouter command (lines 532–569), so the timer is the only added mechanism that notices its remote account changes. This introduces a polling-based shared-state synchronization path and lets an in-flight response update the displayed snapshot without confirming that its team scope is still current. An account-scoped model/store should own the snapshot and its scope; the CLI/account-flow owner should signal a refresh when a mutation completes.

Resolution

Remove the unconditional five-second refresh loop. Move account snapshot and request lifecycle into one account-scoped owner, and pass its immutable snapshot to the tree. Add an explicit account-mutation completion or invalidation signal from the CLI/account-flow path, then refresh once and publish only if the response still matches the current team scope. The first migration cut is to replace the view timer with that owner and prove that completing an add flow refreshes the current team's rows without accepting a stale response from a previous team.

Add the four Coderouter strings to the app catalog.

The three views use these keys, but none exists in Resources/Localizable.xcstrings. Add entries for the catalog’s existing locales so these strings do not fall back to English.

Written by scripts/ci/classify_failures.py (ci-failure-attribution.yml); signatures are its SIGNATURES table. A machine verdict is the runner's fault, not this PR's.

Dogfood tours of 9ca88499

cloud-machine-author-tour at 9ca88499: not run

skipped: CI built this head on a runner pool whose products the UI test Macs cannot load, and media never compiles one; gh workflow run pr-media.yml -f pr=&lt;n&gt; -f allow_compile=true does

Tours are picked by the paths globs in dogfood/scenarios/*.json; a Dogfood-tours: a, b line in the description picks them instead (none turns this off). Look at every frame before merging: a green tour only means no step failed.

Updated from feedback in commit a0ba19aeeaa:

  • Replaced the noisy dotted-triangle icon with arrow.triangle.branch, a clearer routing symbol.
  • Removed the colliding secondary text from Add account and matched the compact sidebar action styling.
  • Clicking Add account now shows the existing CodeRouter CLI guidance.

Updated the PR with the native CodeRouter account flow in commit aab60b3d6bd.

The Coderouter header + now opens a GUI form for Claude OAuth tokens, Anthropic API keys, and Amazon Bedrock credentials. The selected cmux team ID is passed explicitly to the CodeRouter service for every add operation, and the form prevents submission without a selected team. The new sheet is wired into the app target.

Pulled and merged origin/main, then updated the PR with the empty-state refinement in d034526eabb.

Coderouter now expands with a caret and shows No accounts yet plus an Add account row. The Add account row uses the same GUI form and team-scoped submission as the header +.

Updated the PR with the requested visual pass in 7c421854384.

  • Coderouter empty rows now use the compact sidebar row height and typography.
  • The Add account row uses the standard + SF Symbol treatment, without the oversized circle-plus control.
  • Empty copy is now No accounts yet and device empty copy is No devices yet.

Updated the Coderouter sidebar flow at commit 624eea050883d716b4bc026f2a87840eb2116f31.

  • The row now says Add coding agent account.
  • The rejected native credential sheet is removed.
  • The action opens CodeRouter CLI in the focused terminal when available, otherwise creates a local CodeRouter terminal.
  • It switches CodeRouter to the currently selected cmux team before launching the interactive account flow, so Claude, Codex, and other CLI-supported account types remain available.

Fixed the failed add-account flow in commit 2dd9c5d3f98c6199e40f9918aa0b61e17ca7553e.

The previous command incorrectly passed the cmux team UUID to CodeRouter org switch, which uses a separate organization namespace. The new flow:

  • Shows a provider chooser for Codex, Claude, OpenCode, or the general CodeRouter account flow.
  • Uses cmux coderouter claude add ... --team <selected cmux team> for Claude.
  • Uses the matching CodeRouter CLI provider flow for Codex and OpenCode.
  • Sends the command with a newline so it runs immediately in the focused or newly created terminal.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Localize the missing-team hint.

When no team is confirmed, noteTreeHint displays this plain string in the Cloud panel. Use a localized key and add translations for the supported catalog locales. As per path instructions, “Fail when production Swift UI, tooltip, alert, error, recovery, or command text is added or materially changed without a localized API.”

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Project the fallback terminal into a local workspace.

If no focused terminal accepts the command, this call passes destination: nil. TerminalController.surfaceNewTerminal creates the terminal but projects it only when a destination exists. The account command therefore runs without a visible terminal for the user to complete or inspect the flow. The structural cause is that terminal creation has no workspace owner. Use the selected local workspace as the destination, or create a local workspace and project the terminal there as the first migration cut. This keeps fallback account flows tied to a visible workspace.

Bugbot is paused — on-demand spend limit reached

The refresh icon now restarts the refresh loop instead of racing it with a
second task, and a cancelled read never writes a stale team's accounts.
Adds translations for the section title, New Account rows and usage, and
fixes the test's CloudTreeNodeActions init.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Account rows drop the empty icon slot so each email starts in the create
row's + column, and usage moves to a fixed trailing accessory so a long
email truncates instead of the percentage.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
cr add claude stores accounts in the Claude upstream table, but the
accounts status route reads only the provider table, so cr accounts and
the cmux sidebar never show them and DELETE by that id returns 404.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
GET /api/coderouter/accounts now appends the team's Claude upstream
accounts as provider "claude" rows (no secrets; identifier is masked),
so cr accounts and the cmux sidebar show them. Released CLIs already
render an unknown provider as its own section. DELETE by an account id
falls back to the Claude store, so cr remove works on any listed row.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Each account row gets a hover remove button and a Remove Account… menu
item. After the house destructive confirmation it selects the team's
CodeRouter organization and runs coderouter remove <id> --yes, then
refreshes. The Coderouter header now uses the code glyph.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Hovering the Coderouter header shows a ? whose tooltip says existing
Codex, Claude and OpenCode accounts work on Cloud machines right away.
Clicking it opens a short guide popover anchored to the header row, so
it stays open after the pointer leaves the row.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The server names OpenCode Go accounts opencode-go, so the sidebar keyed
on opencode would have put them in a stray group; providers now use the
server names (codex, claude, opencode-go, openai-apikey,
openrouter-apikey) with readable titles, and OpenCode Go still adds with
cr add opencode. The ? guide now explains the sidebar rows and the basic
cr commands.

The sidebar ran ~/.coderouter/bin first while cmux cr runs the app-bundled
core first. Two CLI versions sharing one config file made it unreadable:
0.3.15 rewrote it without a field the bundled 0.3.12 requires, and cmux cr
failed with "missing field stackPublishableClientKey". The reader now
resolves in cmux cr's order (bundled, PATH, installer bin) and strips
CMUX_* like the passthrough. Unlabeled key accounts read "Claude …JF1g".

Dev builds bundled the 0.3.12 prerelease, which lists no Claude accounts
and requires a config field 0.3.15 no longer writes. Pin the checksum-
verified 0.3.15 public artifact. User-facing copy now says coderouter, as

…m regressions and test drift) (#17433)

* fix(cloud): a port scan of only diagnostics is unavailable, not empty

#17232 let non-listening rows through so a stray diagnostic or UNCONN
row beside real listeners does not void the inventory, but output with
no socket rows at all ("inventory unavailable") then read as an empty
successful scan, and the pane said nothing is listening instead of
reporting the failure. CloudPortDiscoveryStateTests:37 failed on main
(run 37357769643) and on unrelated PRs' changed suites.

Keep skipping those rows, and reject a listing whose only rows are
diagnostics.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(cloud): restored panes leave when their team access is gone

#17232's registerPendingRestoredMachines read the restored machine's
status with try?, so a 403 was swallowed and a provider was built from
persisted metadata. The foreign-team pass then only marked it access
lost and kept it reconnecting.
CloudMultiTeamSurfaceTests.restoredForeignTeamPaneWithLostAccessLeaves
failed on main (run 37357769643). An access loss now unregisters the
machine like the foreign-team pass does when no provider exists.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* test(cloud): follow the Coderouter section and renamed nightly machines

#17233 always appends the Coderouter section with one group per
addable provider, so MachinesPanelModelTests' exact tree IDs gained
those rows. NewMachineSheetLayoutTests (#17427) looked for the title
cmux-devbox-0, which #17422's nightlyMachines(renamedAt: 0) renames.
Both failed on main (run 37357769643, shards 4 and 5).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* test(update): restore assertions the updater revert rolled back

#17368 reverted the updater to the 0.64.25 baseline and took these test
hunks with it, but not the code they describe: browser navigation still
keeps the caller's cache policy (#13003), and titlebar widths still
follow system font metrics. Both failed on main (run 37357769643,
shards 4 and 5: cachePolicy 4 vs 0, width 149 vs 152).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(update): track titlebar windows by identity, not weak reference

#17368's revert to the 0.64.25 updater also dropped #16352's window
identity fix. TitlebarControlsAccessoryViewController again stored
`view.window` in a weak var from main-queue size updates, and AppKit
can still return a window that is deallocating there; the weak store
aborts with "Cannot form weak reference to instance … of class
CmuxMainWindow". That crash loop exhausted the app-host restart budget
in shards 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 on main (run 37357769643).

Reapply #16352's identity hunks: observe the window by ObjectIdentifier,
take window changes from the container view, and resolve deferred work
through NSApp.windows instead of weak captures.

* ci: name the failing test and whose it is in the CI attribution comment

The attribution comment said "code" per job; #17074, #17232 and #17233 merged
red on 10-05 with no comment naming their own failing tests, and #17232 kept a
stale "CI passes" from an older head.

- classify_failures.py extracts concrete failures from each failed job's
failed steps (Swift Testing and XCTest file:line, compile errors, crashes,
warning-budget overages, CLI help contract), dropping system and cache
error: noise, and marks each yours (a file the PR changes or tests), also
red on main (main's latest red full suite), or new in this PR. The
comment's first line is that verdict.
- The comment records its head; a newer head's CI start (workflow_run
requested) or an older head's completion rewrites it to pending. A PR merged
before CI finished still gets the comment. A green run whose macOS jobs never
ran says so instead of "passes".
- main_full_suite.py lists the red run's concrete failures in the issue with a
data marker the PR attribution reads.
- main_regression_attribution.py @-mentions each suspect's merger once.
- guard_attribution.py's green comment says it covers only the fast guards.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* ci: harden failure attribution per review

- Trust only the bot's issue body and comments for main's failure data, so a
commented marker cannot turn a PR's own failure into "Not yours".
- An unreadable files list or main issue falls back to none and still writes
  the comment.
- `requested` events get their own concurrency group, so a start never
replaces a pending completed report and its machine re-run.
- "macOS jobs did not run" only when ci.yml's macos prerequisites (changes,
Fast static checks) did not succeed, not when routing reused an admitted
compile; a test pins the names to ci.yml.
- Compiler paths match the PR's file by path; a bare Swift Testing file name
says when several changed files share it.
- No "fix forward" on a merged PR whose failures are all machine.
- URL-encode the head branch in PR lookups; job names go through code().

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

* ci: keep failure reports quiet when nothing new happened

A main that stays red with the same failures edits its last report on the
tracking issue instead of posting a new comment, so subscribers and pinged
mergers are notified only when the failure set changes. A PR whose failures
are all the machine's and are being re-run gets no new comment.

#17448)

Main's full CI at 1c84448 (run 37374680247) failed three suites on test
drift, which the window crash loop fixed in #17433 had been hiding:

- CloudTreeAvailabilityTests:23/:47 and
  MachineCreateOptimisticProjectionTests:89: #17233 always appends the
Coderouter section, so exact tree IDs and node counts gained it.
- CloudCreateTeamSheetPresenterTests:101: #17422 hosts every Cloud sheet
in CloudSheetWindow's CloudSheetContent wrapper, so the window no longer
has an NSHostingController<CloudCreateTeamSheet>. Find the window by its
cmux.cloudCreateTeam identifier and read the sheet through the wrapper,
which is now internal (its size reporter stays fileprivate).
