dev stacks are tailnet-only, so freestyle can't call their forward-auth route. CMUX_VM_PUBLICATION_FORWARD_AUTH_ORIGIN lets an operator point the edge at a tunnel while browsers keep signing in on the auth origin. unset in prod, malformed fails closed.
hover share button and copy team link on cloud machine port rows. reuses the port's publication or creates one with the server default (team for team machines), waits until it's active and the link actually answers, then copies it. requests run as the machine's owning team.

the share button stays on cloud port rows at rest, uses the link symbol, and shows creating link / copied to clipboard beside it. the readiness check is now a signed-out POST on protected links only: cmux answers 401 without minting a sign-in transaction, and public links aren't probed since that would hit the user's app.
copy share link / share link instead of team wording, since a personal machine's link is owner-only; the note after copying still says who can open it. the inline note is fixed size so the controls host can't squeeze it to nothing.
…t in .env.example
- only reuse cmux-generated links; a custom domain on the port is left alone - poll by creating again (idempotent, resumes provisioning or unavailable rows, works on a teammate's row); 409 removing and 503 busy just mean not yet - probe accepts only 2xx/3xx or the forward-auth 401, total wait about a minute - don't overwrite the clipboard if it changed while the link was made; show link ready and copy on the next click - sidebar gets plain error copy instead of the cli wording from the server - store is @observable with an injected sleep for its auto-dismiss - note swaps without animation so it can't slide under the row - tests for the store and the new paths (12 pass)

Host-move handshake can stick
Medium Severity
applyPendingContentSize now waits on isHostMovePending, but that flag is cleared only after a successful record. The one-shot refresh does not retry when record bails on AppKit’s 1×0 frame, and a later sheet didMove that does clear the flag never applies the stored size. Content that arrives after open can stay unapplied for the life of the sheet.

Fixed in f7b26fe. The sheet didMove path now applies any pending content size when the host-move handshake completes, and anchor correction is deferred while the handshake is pending so a transient 1×0 move cannot restore a stale anchor.

Bound the layout poll by a deadline instead of an iteration count.
The for _ in 0..<100 loop waits in 10 ms run-loop turns, so its budget is about one second of wall-clock time. That budget does not grow with the time that a slow runner needs. A deadline bounds only the failure path. A passing run returns as soon as the content matches, and a slow runner has more time before the test fails.
Keep layoutSubtreeIfNeeded() and displayIfNeeded() inside the poll. They drive the attached sheet's layout.

Inject CloudPortShareStore through the Cloud sidebar owner.
CloudPortShareStore.shared is new mutable runtime state. MachinesPanelView already creates CloudTreeNodeActions.bound(...) and passes the action bundle through CloudTreeOutlineView and CloudTreeCellView to CloudTreeRowHoverButtons. Use that composition path to create one store, inject it into the bound action, and pass the same instance to CloudPortShareButton. Then remove shared.
This is required by the no-ambient-global-state rule. The current binding also prevents tests from substituting a store in the real action path.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Replace the Task.yield() loops with a deadline-bounded poll or a real completion signal.
waitUntil waits for at most 100 Task.yield() calls. Line 188 waits for 20 yields and then asserts that nothing changed. A yield waits for nothing. On an idle machine, 100 yields take microseconds. On a loaded CI runner, the reset task may not run in that budget, so a correct implementation can fail holdClears. In newerPhaseSurvives, the check can pass before the stale reset task has run, so the test can miss a regression.
Bound waitUntil by a clock deadline. This deadline limits only the failure path. For newerPhaseSurvives, make the injected sleep closure signal when it returns. Await that signal, then assert the phase.
Proposed fix for `waitUntil`
-
private func waitUntil(_ condition: @MainActor () -> Bool) async { - for _ in 0..<100 where !condition() { await Task.yield() } + let deadline = ContinuousClock.now + .seconds(10) + while !condition(), ContinuousClock.now < deadline { + try? await Task.sleep(for: .milliseconds(5)) + } }
As per coding guidelines: "A poll of a condition bounded by an iteration count of Task.yield() ... Bound the poll by a clock deadline, or await the real signal."

Clear the host-move gate when the attached sheet remains 1×0.
When the host moves while the attached sheet has a 1×0 content size, recordAttachedSheetMoveIfHostMoveIsPending() returns without clearing isHostMovePending. The single deferred refresh then ends, and later content-size reports are discarded by applyPendingContentSize(). The sheet can remain collapsed until another qualifying sheet move occurs.
This is a local state-transition fix. The same CloudSheetWindow.beginSheet(on:) path is used by the network-policy, create-team, and new-machine presenters. Keep the existing measured top-edge anchor; do not replace it with host.contentLayoutRect. Add a test for the host-move, 1×0, and later content-size sequence.

Personal machines with nil ownerTeamID share through the selected team's request scope.
CloudTreeNodeActions passes provider.ownerTeamID as teamID. When that value is nil, CloudPortShareService passes nil as scopeTeamID to the publication list and create calls. VMClient.request then binds the request to the currently selected team. The publication requests therefore carry the selected team's scope, not the machine's personal scope. The publication route derives the account and billing scope from that requested team. The server response for a personal VM under the selected team is not established by the inspected code.
The request scope and the body policy fields are separate. Omitting access and team fields in the create body is intentional. The problem is only the request-scope fallback. Pass an explicit personal request scope when the owner team is nil. Add that scope support in VMClient.request first. Do not pass nil and assume it means personal.
Suggested fix
-
The correction belongs at the request boundary in
VMClient.request. It needs a personal request-scope value that the publication methods can pass. This fix cannot be written from the inspected source, because that value is not defined there. Add it, then pass it fromCloudPortShareService.sharewhenteamIDis nil.
